I had a lot of fun with Cruel Winter With You. It begins in the present but flashes back to when Marc was born. Marc is Jamie’s best friend’s little brother. Little stories and memorable events over their lives where they spend a fair amount of time together over the years build the relationship.
Jamie and Marc had each other’s back as children, until high school. Even as they went to college and pursued demanding careers they kept in touch. Now they get stuck at Marc’s parent’s home when she goes to borrow a pan and a storm hits.
I really enjoyed the story and connected emotionally to the characters and their stories. The truth made things so much better.
Narration:
The narrator was new to me. I was very comfortable with the performance and voices for the characters. I listened at my normal 1.5x speed.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.

I really enjoyed it. It’s quite short and easy to read.
I got the whole collection and devoured it. The Hazelwood story was my favorite of the group.
