The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Sunday, the garden is doing well but so are the weeds in the grass. Luckily I keep the garden weeded well. With the cooler temps this week, a 25 degree drop in fact, I hope to do more yard work. I did my typical blog visiting. Last night I was able to finish tinking my knitting project and start back on the actual knitting again. We went to walk Lulu and ran into the neighbor and Abbey and walked back with them.
Monday, Lulu woke me early and I had been up reading late. I kept dozing after I let her out. At least it hadn’t started raining. But it’s “supposed” to rain all day. I set up for a blog tour later in the month and wrote 2 reviews. I looked at tea since there is a big sale that ends today. I am doing well with drinking tea and no soda this year. I love some flavored ice tea but my daughter generally doesn’t. I finished replacing the furnace filters. I’m doing the moody reader and my favorite right now is dystopian prepper books. It feels comforting knowledge to add.
Tuesday, Lulu woke me an hour earlier than yesterday! I wanted to get going because today is weed killer day. I sprayed the back yard and did a bunch of weeding in the front flower beds. Then I got the ladder out and put away the Christmas ornaments and other boxes up on shelves in the garage. Finally! The lilac shrub is totally covered with blooms and the peonies are up! I threw all my clothes in the washer and took a second shower when finished. After dinner, I covered the basil because there was a freeze warning.
Wednesday, it didn’t seem to freeze last night. I removed the buckets from the basil. I did a little computer stuff. Then I went on the errands, to Harris Teeter for Rx, Wegmans and Trader Joes. The best places to get a dozen eggs are Trader Joes or Wegmans for $3.99/dozen. Most other stores are $5-7. I was so tired I had to enlist my daughter to help cook dinner. I found I need to start my knitting project over again, luckily I am not very far along. I went to bed early.
Thursday, I slept well. I cleaned up lots of sticks and branches in the yard when I took Lulu out. I started a new thread on my Discord server called Pets-and-Gardens. After much thought I decided I had to mow the weeds even though the grass is still dormant. It sure looks much better afterward. We had our first chard from the garden!
Friday, it’s a rainy day. I got Lulu out during a break and picked up sticks and pulled a few weeds in the garden. I wrote a couple reviews and did my usual blog visiting. The rain stopped in time to take Lulu for a late walk. I worked on unraveling my project and it went poorly, got all tangled. Sigh. I stayed up late watching tv and then reading later.
Saturday, I slept a bit late. I picked spinach from the garden to put in my eggs. I went ahead and submitted my tax return. I looked over options for May reviewing since I had some slots open. Then I set up the posts for the books I selected. We walked Lulu. Then I finished setting up posts and then started the sweater over from the beginning.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Thanks so much to Crooked Lane Books. Atria Books, Brilliance Audio (2).
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
NONE.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
Chirp Friday freebies:
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

A very productive week for you and hopefully a chance later in the week to get back on track with your sleep. Love that you’re using chard and spinach from your garden already. Love the scent when the lilac is in bloom and peonies are so beautiful. There were some tempting books to pick for review in May. 🙂
Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Sophia. I don’t always feel productive enough. We’re eating chard and spinach, but also lettuce and asparagus. The snow peas, carrots and beets aren’t far off either. I struggled to pick things I actually wanted to read. It’s a moody reader time.
I love seeing all your flowers, they’re beautiful. We have so much new growth on our trees right now, I need to document it better and maybe include photos in next week’s post. Sorry about the knitting project, I hope it goes better the second time!
Thanks Tammy. The flowers and veggies make this time of year great, along with the comfortable weather. The knitting project is going to be tricky because this yarn is very tangly which is unexpected.
Sweet Lulu💜
Your garden looks lovely! Our azaleas are in bloom now and they really flourished. I almost got that Webb book but am holding off for now. Of course, Dugoni made me happy.
Have a great week, Anne!
Thanks Jonetta. I love the NC seasons with a much longer spring and fall, with early flowers and a long gardening season. I am very moody about reading and only want certain things.
Beautiful pastel blooms and adorable Lulu.
yes trying to focus on the good stuff.
Lots of outdoor stuff this past week! My yard is full of dandelions, which I’m sure my neighbors might hate. But I don’t care too much. Especially at the beginning of the growing season when they say the bees need some flowers and that the dandelions are good for that. My April kind of is open for review time, but then I have to make sure I keep up on what is signed up as May looks a little busier. Especially since they just announced there will be 2 SmartyPants Romance books and I want to read them both. Lulu is adorable as always1
Thanks Lisa. Our HOA has guidelines but the backyard weeds are also beyond my comfort level. June was busier for me than May.
Your garden is so beautiful Anne! I can see you are taking good care of it!
Thank you Sophie. I do easy perennials for flowers. But the food garden is much more effort.
Your garden looks so nice and Lulu looks like she’s relaxing in her bed. Trader Joes has good egg prices and so does BJ’s.
Thank you Naida. I hadn’t noticed about egg prices at BJs. Lulu loves her beds, blankets, sweaters and walks.
Lots of pretty plants!! Glad you haven’t been flooded like we have here!
Thanks Samantha. We could use a little more rain though.
You’ve had a successful week Anne! I love seeing the photos of your garden. Have a great week!
Thanks Jodie. The garden is busting out all over this month!
Beautiful garden pics. Such a cute pic of Lulu. Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne. You get my happy views in the photos.
Oh, what prepper books are you reading? I love those! I love your lilacs and it looks like azalea in the first photo? I haven’t planted peonies yet, but I love them. I should as they come back year after year. I’ll check out your Discord page! I haven’t been on it this week at all.
Thank you Rachel. I’m currently trying some Grace Hamilton books. I like them but I’ve read ones I like better. A duology by Tosca Lee is a favorite. Do you have any favorites? yes it is azaleas in the first photo. The peonies aren’t blooming but they are up.
Seeing plants in bloom is so cheering, somehow! All the cherry trees around here are blooming, and it’s lovely. Hope you’re finding much enjoyment in your plants!
Thank you Nicky. I love perennials because they come up every year with not too much work. It was a bunch of work to plant them all when we moved here but I’m really happy with the progress. The front bed is the one that is still evolving. The backyard and sideyards are all set and lovely. I went with easy daylilies, peonies, lilacs, azaleas, hellbores, camellia, stand dwarf bearded iris, speedwell and tickseed for those. The iris need to be divided every 3-4 years but otherwise they all tolerate bad weather and bad soil and low maintenance.
Such lovely pics. Sounds like the garden is doing well and of course, Lulu is as cute as always. I didn’t know there was a new Timber Creek K-9 mystery coming out soon. I haven’t started that series but have been collecting them. Hope you and your family have a wonderful week!
Thank you Barb. The Timer Creek K9 series is one of the best IMO. I hope you like them. The garden, both veggies and flowers are in spring glory. Lulu is always a star.
What was going on with Lulu that she was up so early? Sounds like you still got lots done. I was busy with fun stuff all weekend, so I had to do a lot today (Monday) to get caught up on chores before work tomorrow. Later this week, both kids will be home for Easter.
No idea. Lulu was a bit strange all week. Sounds like you will have a busy week with some fun family time for next weekend.
Sounds like a busy week! Between allergies and allergy medicine I have been wiped out this past week. I need to get better about going to bed early this time of year. I need to start the K9 series. I have the first book and my library has the rest but I need to actually read them. Have a great week!
Thanks Katherine. I’ve been doing ok allergy wise so far. That’s one of my favorite K9 series; I hope you love them.
