The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, it’s the usual stuff today with blog visiting, writing reviews, etc. I made some pumpkin muffins. After the visiting, I decided to change my Instagram and Threads handle to _booksofmyheart, instead of the one with 2_ in it. It’s closer to all my other socials. I updated Jetpack connections and FS Poster so I think it will go smoothly. Since there is rain, I felt like soup. I realized we needed another quart of chicken broth. We walked Lulu. I texted the neighbor and luckily she had one.
Monday, I woke early and was so sleepy and lethargic in the morning. My daughter needed smaller underwear but I reminded her we had put her too small clothes in ziploc bags. She found them and tried them on and there were ones which fit fine. She’s been reclaiming shorts and pants over the last couple months also. I called Aetna again and finally got thru to someone and they ordered the blood pressure monitor I’ve been trying to get for 5 weeks. We walked Lulu in the rain fresh air. I made yummy soup for dinner.
Tuesday, it was raining lightly this morning but they came to do the install. I took soup over to the neighbor. The solar installers arrived and said it would only be 3-4 hours. It stopped raining about when they arrived. They stopped and didn’t do the panels just all the mounting and cabling. Apparently they won’t install those until next week, then after that come inspections and actual running. So maybe it will be working by the end of the month. There was an issue with one of my daughter’s prescriptions, so I was on the phone with insurance and she was on the phone with the doctor. We got our COVID and flu shots just in case the government shutdown causes any issues. We went out into the damp air to walk Lulu. We are gradually walking longer each day if the weather is good.
Wednesday, I didn’t go too quickly today. I looked forward to a quieter day around home. I wrote some reviews. I received some new ARCs. I updated socials for October. I put together my month end numbers for September. I started looking at dog coats since Lulu’s are too large now.
Thursday, I went back to looking at things for Lulu. Since she has about 40 toys, including at least 8 Peggy Pandas from the dollar store, so I had to find more toys for her. But also a smaller raincoat. Her new harness that doesn’t have to go over the head and is smaller arrived and it works great. Most of the stuff we bought for her right after we rescued and overfed her and weren’t walking. She’s much slimmer now with homemade food and daily walks.
Friday, I did the usual stuff. Then I got looking at books for Jay on Amazon since he is going to have a little sister next week. I think he should get a package. We got him a Halloween card too. We’ll have to see what else we can send him. My daughter went out with me to deal with the leaves in the backyard. We also turned over the compost. We went to walk with the neighbor and Abbey. We talked about what to feed Abbey when she stays with us next. I said she only wants to eat Lulu’s food so I’m going with it.
Saturday, I visited blogs, checked emails. I took a look at products in the October LoveMe GlutenFree box. They always have discounts on things, codes you can use if you buy the products. I wrote some reviews. My daughter was going to practice driving today but didn’t feel like it. I’ve just hit 700 followers on Bluesky! I’ve been there since July 2023 and it’s now where I actually look at stuff the most. I managed to get all the posts ready for the Library Love Challenge 2026. Then we walked Lulu.
Things I Learned This Week:
OK if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.
I was looking at my Audible settings for something the other night and noticed that no longer are the only 2 options to show time in current chapter or time in entire book. There is now a percentage complete! I have wanted this for a long time. Now I wonder how long it has been available that I didn’t know about it. I’ve been still calculating Percent complete by dividing minutes by the total all the time. 🤦♀️
September Reading:
I managed to read 25 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.
- 20 Audiobooks
- 1 Library books
- 22 COYER
- 8 Books I Own
All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog) 2025 Library Love Challenge
I did manage to read 8 books I own (goal is 3 per month):
- 🎧 Fatal Promise by Angela Marsons
- 🎧 Sweep With Me by Ilona Andrews GA
- 🎧 Night Owl by Andrew Mayne
- 🎧 Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews GA
- Night Owl by Rachel Grant
- 🎧 Dead Memories by Angela Marsons
- Sporting by Kylie Gilmore
- 🎧 Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrew GA
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My huge thanks to Berkely, Brilliance Audio Publishing, Penguin Audio.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I got these in the 2-1 Audible sale.
I selected my first title from the October First Reads from Prime.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
Chirp Friday Freebies:
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

That’s exciting that they’re starting to install the solar. I wish we could do that but there are too many trees here. I love that Lulu has so many toys she loves😁 Have a good week Anne!
Thank you Tammy. Tomorrow is looking good for the solar panels. Lulu is so good about only chewing on her toys. Peggy Panda is her favorite.
That’s exciting about the solar! We have to cut back on the toys we get for our dogs-its getting out of control. I hope you have a great week!
Thank you Samantha. But you have more dogs so you need more toys! lol
Congrats on the Bluesky followers! I need to spend more time over there. I hope you have a great week.
Thanks AJ. I had more followers on Twitter and 2 accounts, both more but I don’t go there anymore. There are plenty who have thousands on some socials, especially Instagram. I am not popular on Instagram. It must be my severe inability with graphics.
I hope the rest of the solar install goes smoothly.
I’m having issues with Bluesky, it sometimes won’t let me post or let me like posts.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Thank you! I had a few days where my Bluesky wouldn’t work at all after I changed Internet providers but it’s mostly fine. I get error messages sometimes and sometimes I can’t like or repost things. The reposting though I think might be the settings of the poster.
I love the new spooky season header!
Thank you!
We have solar panels since 2009 and I have been very happy with the change! But of course it’s raining when they are installing yours lol
I think they will be a help. I got an amazing deal on the purchase which made it worthwhile unlike the deal a few years ago. Electricity rates are only going up.
Sounds like you had a quiet, productive week at home. Lots of good news that your solar is going in, daughter dropping clothes sizes and you had great reading numbers. More than double from your own TBR is super. I hope you like City Under One Roof in audio. I enjoyed reading that one.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. yes it turned out to be a pretty good week. I’m finally reading at night again a bit but I still need to cut down on doom scrolling. I love City Under the Roof that’s why I had to buy it.
That’s great that you are installing solar! I’d like to look into that after we move (whenever that is.) As you say, electricity is only going up.
I started The Keeper of Magical Things a day or two ago. I am enjoying it so far, but I haven’t read very far yet.
Congratulations to your daughter and to Lulu on their weight loss! I admire you for making Lulu’s food. It’s all I can do to keep up with food for us.
Thanks Kara. It was a good deal to get solar now. Lulu’s older gear will work for over sweaters during the winter. Her food is easy because I make 2 variations over and over. I only alternate between chicken thighs and ground turkey, and whatever frozen green vegetable is available.
OH, I just updated the settings on my phone for audible. I didn’t realize how many things I could customize. Thanks! I just picked up a bunch of freebies yesterday, too. My TBR just gets longer and longer!
MY TBR also keeps growing. Every once and awhile I should review settings because apps do get updated, I guess. But if it’s working I tend not to review things.
Well I’m glad you told use about the Audible % thing. I didn’t know and now I’ve changed my settings. I was also still calculating. ^_^ Thanks! Great book haul. Happy Reading/Listening!
I’m so glad I was able to help other people find out and I guess maybe I didn’t miss out for too long.
I’ve thought about getting solar panels. I love the idea of them, but I haven’t been able to justify the cost to myself since we don’t know if we’ll be staying in this house for long enough (we don’t have specific plans to leave – we just don’t know).
Well it wasn’t very affordable until a special program this year. Of course, it ended September 30 because Trump admin. But I have an electric car and we have a bunch of computers and electric tools. So I have wanted to do it for awhile. It just didn’t make financial sense until now. I don’t know how long we will be here either but we are very comfortable so probably for awhile yet.
Oh yay for a percentage option in Audible! I’ve got to go find that. And also yay for smaller clothes! I keep them, and in the past have been able to go back and wear some, but haven’t been able to in a long time. Even with losing a little weight here and there. Here’s hoping it’s a good week!
Thanks Lisa. So glad I’m not the only one who didn’t know about the Audible % setting.
Good for you to have your seasonal vaccines! Apparently invitations are going out here in Vancouver next week with appointments available the week after. Have a great week Anne.
Thanks Jodie. I’m thrilled to have them before the current stupid government makes them harder to get. We always keep up to date due to my daughter’s various health issues.
Sweet Lulu💜
Congrats on getting the solar installation started! We’d love to do that. I also noticed Audible had more listening settings. Have a great week!
Thanks Jonetta. They are installing the actual panels today. So it progresses. Lulu doesn’t like the noise.
Congrats on the Bluesky Followers! I should try and get on there more. I haven’t been on there for at least a month. The blog and Instagram take up so much of my time posting. It’s hard to add anything more. Sounds like Lulu is in great shape! Doggie toys are the perfect reward! I didn’t notice that about Audible, but yay! I’ve always wanted it to show % too! My husband got his flu and Covid shot a couple of days ago. I will be getting my flu shot at work in a couple of weeks, but I haven’t check on anything for Covid yet.
Thanks Rachel. Bluesky is my favorite now that so many are there. It was kind of piddly early on, but so was Twitter. I got Moderna for the first time instead of Pfizer for Covid. But no reaction as usual. My arm wasn’t even sore, but the flu arm was a bit. With us wearing masks everywhere, I don’t have colds or flu or anything for years now. But even before that because I’m a hand washer (toileting and cooking) and wouldn’t use other people’s pens I didn’t have colds for 18 years at 1 point.
September was a great reading month for you. I hope October is too. Love the freebies. Have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne. I think October might be better as I am reading at bedtime again.
I’m glad things are going well in your household! When we had our solar panels installed, it was done in two installments like yours. Those freebies are addictive! I add a silly amount of freebies and 99 cent books. I’ve added The Bone Thief to my TBR list
Thanks Olivia. Well they are free so why not? I only do 99¢ books if I think I can get the audio cheap through Whispersync.
Hurrah for getting your shots! I need to line up my COVID shot, it’s not offered on the NHS anymore for most people, but definitely want to get it.
Thanks Nicky. We have not had COVID and don’t want it.
I need to get appointments to get our flu shots soon. Sounds like you had a productive week and yay for getting the blood pressure cuff. You got some gorgeous book. I hope you have a great week!
Thank you Katherine. My blood pressure has been under control for like 25 years but it’s also the principle of the thing. I want to be able to check and it was supposed to be included with my insurance so give it to me.
You got so much read! Looks like a good week 🙂
Thanks Becki. I just take it a day at a time.
Ummmm….I didn’t know about the percentage thing until this very moment. WELLLLLLLLLLL dang. I guess I can put away the calculator.
