The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Sweep of the Heart giveaway ends tonight!
Sunday, I am fascinated by my solar app. I did blog visiting. We had our last chat for the Innkeeper Read-along. My
daughter and I trimmed Lulu’s hair on her feet and then trimmed her nails. Next we took her for a walk. Lulu had her after dinner nap. I read at bedtime for the first time in awhile. I’m getting moody about my reading.
Monday, I woke up a bit later and then had all my Monday chores to do. It rained heavily at bedtime so Lulu was in sleeping with my daughter. I tried to finish the registration of my battery with Duke. I checked with my installer, referred to Duke, who referred me to Tesla. Tesla has so far not referred me to someone else. I did the usual blog visiting. Then I went to work setting up a bunch of reviews for new ARCs. We also wanted to go to the Garner Democrats meeting at 6 but of course we are waiting for our new bathroom vanity delivery between 3-7 pm. The delivery was quick and we were off to the meeting. Our US House rep and our NC senator and many of the town council members were there to speak about the issues and upcoming elections in our area. I’ve already signed up for a couple days of poll greeting next week with the neighbor.
Tuesday, I didn’t get going as fast as I wanted. I got clean sheets put on in the guest bedroom, ran the dishwasher and the washer, gathered up the garbage and recycle. I did the blog visiting. Then we went to pick up something my daughter wanted. After walking Lulu, I tried to get a little more done before dinner but wasn’t focused enough. I did shutdown the battery to cycle it to see if I could connect it to the network. It still didn’t work. But then I realized we changed the network password when we got a new Internet provider and when I used the right password, it connected right away. UGH User Error. I made a batch of food for Lulu. My ex arrived for a late dinner.

Wednesday, I focused on getting things off the task list. The ex and I talked about projects. This is my daughter’s last week of current classes so I warned him not to distract her too much the next 2 days. I did well with my task list. So did my daughter, nearly finished with her project.
Thursday, I ran the dryer and the dishwasher. After some of the usual blog visiting, I started a pot roast for dinner. I wrote a few reviews. Then I went out and spent 3 hours power washing the driveway with quick trips inside to stir the pot roast. My ex and daughter went to game night at a local pub.
Friday, I did the usual visiting stuff. I placed a Home Depot order for some items we need for projects. Then we went to my daughter’s PT appt with stops at Wegmans and Trader Joes on the way back.
Saturday, I got up extra early to take my ex and my daughter to the train station. They rode to Selma where there are shops and an art fair. Well I went to meet them but the art fair didn’t really happen. We did find gluten free eats including Celtic Creamery on the way home. In the food hall they had a big area for the local robotics teams which was interesting. We got home and walked Lulu.
Sunday (today) we are going to take the neighbor and go vote. If you have elections in your community, go early vote if you can. The week ahead looks like a good chance of rain every day M-F. It’s cooled down over this week and with the rain will be mid 50sF (10C).

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My grateful thanks to Minotaur Books, Berkley, Tor, Berkley, Macmillan Audio, Penguin Audio (2)

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Friday freebies:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

We have local elections here soon, but I haven’t even looked at the ballot yet. Thanks for the reminder!
I’m going to early vote this afternoon and then I’ll be poll greeting tomorrow.
Lulu looks so cozy! Too bad the art fair didn’t happen. There’s a local arts and craft fair by us, you just reminded me I want to go check it out. Your garden looks nice as usual. Happy reading this week.
Thank you Naida. I’m happy to still have lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and herbs. I haven’t figured out the trick to growing squash and beets in the second season.
Sweet Lulu💜
Thanks for the heads up about the next Karen Rose book. Really need to catch up. Have a great week!
Thank you Jonetta.
Looks like some good books! I do need to check and see what local elections I have coming up in November if any. Sounds like a busy week too! I really enjoyed the first book for our read-along, so excited to talk about that! Is there a Facebook group for the new series, or is it the old one which I need to go make sure I’m getting all notifications from. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. I haven’t been on Facebook in ages but I think there will be something there. There is a whole thread in Discord where I post everything, including discussions. Are you on Discord? I’m really used to it now.
I don’t think I’ve ever used Discord. I guess I need to check it out. Yet another social media site!
Oooh the rookie mistake about password! I would totally do that too Anne!
I know. I worked on it for a week!
I love that you love the solar stuff!! I’d probably be a nerd about it all! User/Operator error is gonna be the title of my biography for as often as it happens to me!
Thanks Samantha. The other thing I emailed them about just showed up in my app so maybe I’ll get everything done without any person walking me through it. But yes mostly I’ve been figuring things out easily.
I’m impressed at how many veggies you are still growing, despite the cooling weather. And how nice that your ex still regularly visits and keeps in touch with his daughter. I wish my grandsons had that in their lives… And what a cute pic of Lulu!! Have a good week, Anne.
Thank you Sarah. If the Swiss chard comes up it will go all winter. We’d still have it except something ate it to the ground earlier in the summer. We could have broccoli also but I didn’t plant that this fall.
I’ve forgotten I switched a password a time or two, as well. I end up doing the old Homer Simpson “D’oh!” to myself. 🙂 Neat that you got ahead on your review posts, got the errands run, and got to your meeting. I was out in the car running errands and appointments this week, but did finally have my first raking with fall coming so late this year for us. Good that your ex made it safely and you all had some fun at the art festival.
Hope you have a good week, Anne!
Thank you Sophia. I’ll be home the next 2 days so I should get to your list finally. There’s more cooking and more projects with the ex here.
We have the mail in ballots so we can vote early. I usually fill mine out as soon as I get it and send it back in.
We used the mail-in ballots during COVID initially. Not that COVID is over.
My husband and I need to take our ballots to the library drop off today. Sounds like you and your daughter are having fun and getting a lot done with your ex visiting! Lulu looks happy, and the veggie garden is looking great😁
yes please vote! We are getting a lot done. It’s more cooking etc for me but that’s ok.
Good luck with the election – I hope things go the way you’d like them to. Have a great week Anne.
Thank you Jodie. Unfortunately this election won’t get rid of the Cheeto but next year if things go well we can check his criminal activities.
Your books look really good. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne. I’m excited to have a full haul with most of my November reads available now.
We don’t have any elections going on this cycle, so it’s been quiet around here. I hope things go well for you and your community. I had a great weekend visiting my son at college – it’s his last (Senior) year and he finally wanted us to come for parents’ weekend. We got to meet most of his friends and their parents.
Wow I can’t believe it’s his senior year already. Time flies. We have a bunch more elections next year too and now I pay attention to all of them and make sure to vote in primaries as well.
My husband was addicted to seeing the solar output as well when we had it in Southern California. My tomatoes are still producing a bit, too. I still haven’t planted anything for fall/winter. I may not. We’ll see.
I was sent a widget for the new Haven’s Rock, too. I’ll wait to download it, though. I will be listening to False Witness soon. I’d like to get it finished before we leave. I’ve never read anything read by Margolin before so I hope I like him.
yes I love to watch the solar several times a day. It’s rainy now every day but it still produces some. I love Phillip Margolin, at least one of his series so I hope I enjoy this standalone as I have it too.
The cover of Nobody’s Baby caught my eye so I’ve added the series to by TBW, the Scythe series too.
Good luck with your project wishlist during your ex’s stay
Wishing you a wonderful reading week
Thank you. Those are both great series. I reviewed the first book of each series also if you are curious about anything.
I’m so glad you were able to find the issue with the battery connection. Passwords are a necessary evil. I can’t believe how often they cause my problems. Lots of interesting books in your queue.
Thank you Olivia. The password thing was stupid. Thankfully I have great books ready to go.
Hurrah for voting!
Hope you enjoy the new books.
Thank you Nicky. I’m looking forward to my new books and when we can dump the Orange Felon.
Sounds like a busy week! And you got some great books this week. I really want to try a book by India Holt and the Kelley Armstrong and Karen Rose are both on my TBR. Have a great week!
Thank you Katherine. Those 3 authors are ones I look forward to reading. India Holton is ridiculous but so funny.
Love a train ride!
We’ve got good connections in NC.
