Sunday, I did my Sunday visiting, emails. I had some people coming over to pick up the rest of the boxes. The weather is nice. We walked Lulu and saw Maggie and Clover. I did some laundry and vacuuming. Our Hungryroot order was deliver. Then I worked on cutting some leftover flannel pieces into strips for quilts.
Monday, well it is lots of rain and thunder today. I did my usual visiting, emails, etc. I changed all the sheets, ran the dishwasher. My daughter had her therapy appt. The cleaners came to do the bathrooms. I wrote a review. We walked Lulu late in the afternoon when it wasn’t raining. I ran out at 10pm after the rain ended to cover the lettuce and chard.
Tuesday, I woke up and it was cold. I checked my Google Home app and it was 64 when it should have been closer to 70. I called my furnace guy and he was able to come out and tell me my thermostat was broken, so I ordered a new one. In the meantime, I have to manually turn the heat on and off. I have a space heater I may use in my room the next two nights when it is below freezing. We walked in Lulu and saw Clover and Maggie for pets and treats. I wore my gloves because it is rather chilly. Now I’m setting up new posts. My ex Mike, actually showed up in time for dinner. He had a very snowy conditions in WV the last 2 days.
Wednesday, I hadn’t turned on the space heater in my room and it wasn’t cold this morning, cooler but not cold like yesterday. We can put the heat off/on manually as needed and that’s fine until we get the new thermostat. We had lots of oranges so I made fresh juice this morning. I’m making a pot roast for tonight. My daughter found several pairs of old pants which fit, in a box in the guest room, so now she isn’t pushing to go thrift shopping asap. I knew she had stuff and I have stuff in boxes also. I went through all the boxes in the attic, pulled a few out for my daughter to sort. I can’t find the box with extra picture frames and I looked all over the house. My daughter has done a great job going through boxes this week.
Thursday, I made breakfast casserole and the rest of the oranges into fresh juice. The weather is warming up and I’ll be getting along with projects. I did the usual visiting and emails. Then I worked on setting up posts for Sophia, KC and Robin. We walked Lulu. Then I went outside to spray for brush reduction under trees, and then the deer mace. The azalea in front is blooming and the iris are starting as well. I found the frames for my daughter! She and her father continue to go through boxes she didn’t want to deal with after moving here in 2019. She is finding lots of clothes she can wear now, and other things she wondered where they went.
Friday, there was the usual visiting and emails. My ex took my daughter to get $5 Sushi at Harris Teeter, her Rx and a few other items. Then my daughter had some beads she wanted to buy from Facebook Marketplace, so I took her. Then we walked Lulu and met up with the neighbor. The ex went on the errand run to Lowes for supplies. I knitted for a bit before dinner.
Saturday, none of us got up too early. I started taking down the old top to the swing but will need help to finish putting on the new one. . I helped my daughter go through 2 drawers of pants which none of them fit so she could put in the ones that do fit. Then we walked Lulu a little farther than usual. It’s 80F/ 27C, not hot but cloudy. We saw the little beagle mixes Spike and Willie. We don’t see them often. I wrote a review. We, including the neighbor, went to hear a rock n roll band at a local venue.

NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

That’s a lovely photo of you and Lulu😁 Sounds like your weather is up and down. Yesterday was the first day we didn’t use the heater and I slept with the windows open. Although I know it will get cold again before summer. Have a great week!
Thanks Tammy. I hope we are out of the freezing nights now. Today it’s 88!
Sweet Lulu💜 Love this of you two together.
The weather has been crazy up and down here, too. Have a great week, Anne.
Thank you Jonetta. I want to plant my warm veggies. Our lettuce in the garden is ready for some eating!
Our weather has been changing 20-40 degrees every day. I just need it to pick a season and stay there!
I hear you! I could get on board with that.
Spring is a rollercoaster of weather. One day, the AC is on, then by the next morning, the heat. Its brutal! Have a great week!
It is up and down weather. It’s harder to regulate manually without a thermostat but it comes tomorrow.
It sounds like you had a wonderful week—those photos of Lulu and your plants are such a nice touch!
I can totally relate to the “mystery box” struggle. There’s something so classic about avoiding boxes for years, only to open one and finally have that “Aha! So that’s where that was!” moment. I’m pretty sure I still have a few boxes from my last move lurking around, too. Your post definitely has me inspired to start some spring cleaning and finally clear things out.
Have a fantastic week ahead, and enjoy that great book haul!
Thanks Angela. It’s cool that my daughter is finding clothes that fit, T-shirts she wondered where they went and craft supplies she can use.
I love pot roast when it’s cold out. We’re having pot roast tonight. We do it in the slow cooker and it turns out so good! We use leftover meat for tacos the next day. It’s fun to find things you forgot about and be able to use them! Good for your daughter. Lulu looks so cute in her sweater. She looks like she’s thinking “What are you waiting for? Let’s go!” Hope you have a wonderful week, Anne!
Thank you Rachel. Lulu often stares us down when it is time for something and we aren’t getting on with it. Right there she is waiting for food spills though! I am so happy with my daughter finally getting through things and putting things away.
Happy Sunday!
Thank you for visiting!
I hope your thermostat will be repaired or replaced soon! Because the weather is all over the place here too.
Thank you. The new thermostat will arrive today. It hasn’t been too bad. The nights it was really cold we could manually set it or use a space heater. But the last couple days I haven’t needed it at all.
Sounds like you had a nice week, and I love that for you!
Thank you Victoria. I hope you have some nicer weather for your spring break.
Ah, who took the picture of you and Lulu? That’s sweet! I think it’s so great that your ex comes and helps you with all the stuff around your house. We had the snowy days on Sunday and Monday of this past week. But now it’s back to spring like. Looking forward to the chat next Sunday!
My daughter took the photo of us in our matching olive sweaters. yes it is helpful and my daughter needs to be able to spend some time with her dad, so he comes twice a year. Our weather is hopefully evening out just a little.
What a great photo of you and Lulu! Sounds like it’s been a good week for getting stuff done. Going through old boxes and finally decided where things go/get rid of stuff makes me feel good. It’s the dread of thinking about it before I do it that wears on me.
My son was home over the weekend. He had an interview for a job up in Portland, ME. He’s got a couple really good offers and I’m excited to find out where he’ll end up after graduation in May. Today is raining and I’ve been reading for several hours. I don’t do that often enough!
Thanks Jen. We are wearing our matching olive sweaters. It’s hard to believe your son is graduating already. I am loving my daughters going through stuff. She’s really finding things that she can use.
In spite of the cold weather and trouble with the thermostat, sounds like you had a really nice week and got so much done all of you. Cute pic of you and Lulu!
Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Sophia. The new thermostat comes today and we haven’t needed the HVAC at all the last 4 days really. I had the space heater in the bedroom but haven’t needed to turn it on. I certainly feel energized by the work my daughter is doing with going through her boxes.
Cute pics! Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne.
Fresh orange juice, pot roast, breakfast casserole…yum!!!!!
yes I’m making more things with three to feed instead of two. And some stuff I eat but my daughter does not – pot roast.
Hopefully we will have nice spring weather so you won’t have to mess with the thermostat too much until you have the replacement. Sounds like you’ve been cooking some yummy food! I’ve started cooking with the mindset of making sure we have leftovers and it’s been so nice. Have a great week and enjoy your reading!
We haven’t needed to turn on the heat the last 4 days and the thermostat will be here today. I cook meals at night and we use the leftovers for lunch.
That is a lovely photo. I’m glad it was just your thermostat and not something more expensive. Nevertheless it will be great to have it replaced.
Thank you Jodie. The thermostat still hasn’t arrived but the weather has been middling so we haven’t needed it.
We are supposed to get bad storms here today. Yuck. They will interfere with me going to visit my mom so I hope they miss us but it is awfully gray and gross here today 🙁
Fresh orange juice sounds amazing.
I hope the weather was nice for you. We have had lots of threatened weather, all of which hasn’t materialized the last couple weeks. But still the up and downs in temperature.
A Lulu! The weather has been so up and down here, sometimes it’s in the 30’s and we get a snow dusting and some days it’s high 70’s and warm. The plants are looking nice.
Thank you. I think the lettuce is ready to start eating.
I can’t wait for the spring weather to settle. It’s been bouncing ALL over the place.
yes swings of 30+ degrees for the daily highs!
