Sunday, a normal day of visiting blogs. I hear thunder and it’s windy but hot. I wrote some reviews. The lettuce seedlings are up! I hope this works out. If it does, I will plant more seedlings when these go outside. It will be a few weeks yet.
Monday, I managed to turn my mattress around 180 while doing the weekly new linens. I worked on figuring out the rest of my July slots, writing reviews and setting up / editing posts. I had garden tomatoes in a BLT for lunch. It’s raining this afternoon and we need it. I will need to find a time when it’s not an oven to mow the lawn pretty soon though. We aren’t even walking Lulu because it’s either too hot or raining. Lulu went with us to Dems on Tap because we couldn’t leave her home alone with thunderstorms. She was a bit excited because there was another dog there but eventually she settled down to nap between us on the bar couch.
Tuesday, still hot. I am sort of procrastinating. I did make the next appt for the dental implant. I sorted out and organized my tasks. I was going to do a Walmart order but didn’t get around to it. My daughter is going to have dinner and go to bingo with the neighbor and her brother is here from Miami. The chard starts are up now also. I had to take the cover off because they are getting too tall for it.
Wednesday, neither of us got a good start this morning. Lulu woke me barking about 6:20 so I took her out and went back to sleep a bit. We left shortly after noon for a doc appt for my daughter and then shopping at Trader Joes and Wegmans. I forgot my grocery list. We found plenty of things including Canadian romaine lettuce heads but I forgot to get apples. It was not as hot but felt worse because it was so muggy.
Thursday, I got up earlier before another errand day. Strong, steady rain which we need. We went to ask question about Lulu’s allergy test results and possible treatment. Then we went thrifting and to pick up an item my daughter bought from facebook. She found lots of jewelry and a couple new dresses. I found one sun dress. We also stopped a Sprouts since it is not in our area but is where we went. The area was determined by the facebook purchase. My daughter had never been there and they have a bunch of different gluten free items not in our regular stores. It was a bi We ate some of the new items we picked up when we got home. I also placed a Walmart order for tomorow.
Friday, I slept until the alarm which is unusual. I had a nutrition appt with a new provider and she seems nice. I got the Walmart pickup and put things away. I got a bunch of new ARCs which I need to setup posts. It’s not raining but the grass is so wet I don’t think we can mow. I made the appt for my daughter’s dental surgery and it turns out to be the same week as mine, different reasons though. We walked Lulu and it was cloudy and almost cool. Then I finally finished the ebook I’ve been working on for a month and wrote my review.
Saturday, I stayed up reading until 3:30am and then didn’t sleep very well, so I am tired. It’s wet and drizzly and cool. I did some blog visiting and wrote some reviews. I started to do the menu planning and look at the week ahead. It looks a bit less hot and a bit less rainy which sounds good. The schedule is more open and I hope to not only stay on track but get a bit more ahead.

It’s been hot here too, but 90s in the summer isn’t too bad. I’m just happy we’re not in the triple digits like we would’ve been in SoCal. I hope all goes well with your dental implant. I am starting to think about fall garden planning. We’re getting a bunch from our garden right now so I’m looking a ways to use and preserve them. Hope you have a cooler week ahead!
Thanks Rachel. It’s supposed to be a bit cooler. I’m hoping my garden stats work then next year I could do them every month to keep having fresh lettuce.
Aw Lulu! That’s great about the lettuce seedlings. I have promised myself to grow some veggies next spring in raised beds outside. Good luck with the dentist, I have the same thing going on with the implant process and go in September for xrays. Happy reading this week.

Exciting about the lettuce and chard. I’m growing basil for the first time and they’ve sprouted as well. The heat is awful here for the foreseeable future, so I don’t know when we’ll get a break. I love seeing Lulu!
Basil loves the heat. Mine is huge.
I love vegetable gardening, it is so nice. We are rebuilding my garden boxes next year (after a kitchen project this year) so I only have a few things in this year – some peppers, which are finally starting to pop. I normally pop on an audiobook and work out there so it is weird not to have that this summer.
So excited for your lettuce seedlings!
I gradually built more raised beds over 6 years and now have as many as my yard and I can handle. But I’m still learning about what I can plant here and when.

Your vegetable seedlings look great. We haven’t had a drop of rain here now for over a month – which is frankly scary as this is England and usually we get lots of rain. I love the pic of your daughter and Lulu. It must be fun going shopping with someone who enjoys it. Himself hates all types of shopping so I used to go with my sister, when I wanted to clothes shop or do a lot of browsing. Have a lovely week, Anne:).
Thank you Sarah. We had several months without rain so I’m glad we finally ae getting some. I’m more the hate shopping type but thrift shopping is more like a treasure hunt.
A new Lady Sherlock book!! Exciting! We have gotten rain a few times, but each time its a downpour and everything floods. Its been a real problem here. This week it wasn’t too hot, which was nice! Have a great week!

We had the horrid heat and then some cooled off days with some rain, then back the heat again yesterday! I did mow in the humid heat last Sunday, but I am waiting till some cooler days this week I hope. Sounds like a pretty busy week! Hope to see you at the read-along chat today!

The heat and humidity really sap the energy. You still got about on lots of errands. Love that your garden is doing so well. I’m hoping for first tomatoes by the end of the week and I still have some lettuce in a shady patch. Hopefully, this week will be more moderate weather for you so you can get your chores done out of the heat.

Thanks Sophia. I have less scheduled this week so I look forward to that. The ants are attacking my tomatoes, maybe because they needed moisture. I don’t know but the ants are prolific this year.
I am sorry it was so hot last week! We had a bearable week but another heatwave is coming this week!
Oh! I’ve started keeping my grocery list on my phone in the “reminders” app. It’s great because then I have it and I share it with my family, so they can add items as they run out.
It’s actually gotten pretty cool here, highs only in the 70s. It feels too early for this weather, but I’m not complaining! I even went to the beach the other day.
We haven’t had much rain and have watering restrictions which prevent us from watering our lawn so has been brown and dormant for weeks now. I love that you have Canadian lettuce there! Have a great week Anne.

It’s not too bad here temp wise (high 80s/low 90s) but the humidity is at 93% which is making it a bit miserable. I’m really looking forward to the Sherry Thomas. I’ve really enjoyed that series so far.
Productive week! I think I’ve read a couple books by Robert Dugoni that were really good. Enjoy!
I hope the cooler weather stays around for a few days, I’m sure you can do with the break.
