The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I read til 3am  then I had to get up because I’d posted on the neighborhood facebook that I had boxes and a neighbor was coming to get them.  I had a lot and was shocked she could take them all (in 2 trips).  I weeded the front flowerbeds while waiting for her a few minutes. Also Marley came over for some pets.   It’s cloudy and the last day until next weekend which will be nice. I did some visiting and emails, wrote a couple reviews and edited / scheduled some.  I did my daily check for audiobooks I am waiting to be available for review.  It’s really bad this month for some reason.  We walked Lulu and it wasn’t too bad.

Monday,  I got a slow start.  I made calls for an appt for tomorrow for pedicures, checked on some Rx, worked on a BJ’s pickup order. Then my daughter told me she had another PT appt tomorrow so I had to move that stuff to Thursday.  Ugh  I hate running around every day when it’s this hot. I worked on the menu plan and grocery lists. I wrote a few reviews. I tried to get as much done as possible since the next days will be running around.   At bedtime I saw an old phone message which said my daughter’s biopsy was negative and we didn’t need the appt.

Tuesday,  so I canceled the appt for tomorrow we don’t need. I tried to juggle things into only Tuesday / Thursday for errands. I finally got some of the audiobooks I had been awaiting.  We went to my daughter’s appt.  Then we drove 20 minutes each way to pick up some earrings and the person didn’t have them with her.  Next we dropped off the 3 boxes of donations we wanted to leave last week but they weren’t open on Wednesday.  Then another pickup of a necklace and earrings, I ran in to Aldi, my daughter ran in to Trader Joes.  We were going to get a Papa Murphy’s pizza but she and the neighbor are going to bingo. Good thing since they are permanently closed!  The only one left is in Fuquay.  I’ll be watering tonight since it’s the only day of the week it’s allowed.  Hot.  Then the power went out at about 8:45pm. I only knew because the router must have rebooted, turning off the tv.   Then I heard the freezer beeping and went to reset the grounded outlet.  I was in the middle of making a marinade so I hurried to finish that since the battery said it could hold up for about an hour and a half.  I started turning off/ unplugging items that would use power. I went out and unplugged the car.  My daughter came home and I had her shutting things down too.  We went to bed but the power came back on before 10pm.  Then the car started honking a couple hours later.  And a light in my bedroom turned on in the middle of the night. Ugh.

Wednesday,  I didn’t get going early because of last nights shenanigans.  I helped my daughter work through some problems for her new classes this week.  She has Intermediate Accounting I and Principles of Finance.  One of the problems used a new rule which was set in 1997, many years after I studied accounting but it was easy enough to read the formula. I setup the new audiobooks I received, and some others.  I wrote to the state DOJ about some healthcare issues I have with our insurance.  I put together orders for pickup at  BJ’s and Sam’s Club tomorrow. The anemone is blooming in the front bed, along with asters, and daylilies, tickseed and salvia in the back yard.

Thursday,  I had to cancel and redo the BJ’s order because it wouldn’t let me add an item. So then I was able to add one item to the Sam’s Club order. I got my visiting and a few other things finished and all our errands went well.  I did a bit more of the computer tasks.  Then I prepared an early dinner.  Marley arrived at 7, and then my daughter went to play games with the neighbor. I watched some Reacher since my daughter doesn’t want to see it and I’ve always wanted to watch it.

Friday, I realized when I got up that I forgot to schedule today’s post. Ugh.  I let the dogs out and watered the lettuce.  Now the fight to have them eat their food.  I now have the audios I was waiting on for this month and feel like I have no time to listen to them. At least after tomorrow, things will cool down for a few days.  Lulu sleeping in Marley’s bed and Marley in Lulu’s.  I did manage to get them eating their own food. I had an appt with the nutritionist.  I worked on the menu plan for next week. I paid some bills.

Saturday, I woke up to Lulu sleeping with my daughter, so I took Marley outside and then fed her but she ignored her food.  My daughter got up and took them out again and tried to have them eat their own food.  It’s still HOT.  I wrote reviews, scheduled and edited posts.  My daughter has to go water the plants for a neighbor who is out of town.  I water my plants once a week but apparently they do more or like me they do it on Saturday.  I do have nearly all pots that have a separate bottom section for a water reservoir with a string to take the water up. Anyway, then I have another pile of posts to setup.  I actually feel sort of on track today. I tried some rotisserie chicken with their food and Lulu ate most of hers. Marley ate the chicken but is ignoring her food.  We’re getting a storm with some rain and it is supposed to be cooler tomorrow.

  1. Sweet Lulu💜 Is Marley learning anything from her?

Great news about your daughter’s biopsy! FYI, my major in college was accounting. Haven’t practiced in many years. I got Black Orchid and hoping they’ll approve me for the Brennan book. It’s hit or miss with Harper Collins.

Have a great week, Anne! Stay cool.

  2. It cooled down at our house and we’ve had rain, but I wasn’t there when it happened. We’re in Montana and it’s rained off and on and we had an epic lightning and thunderstorm last night. I will be enduring the heat tomorrow through Thursday because I’m flying my grandkids back to Texas tomorrow. Not looking forward to 109 real feel on Tuesday! I got The Black Orchid on first reads but I’d rather do the audio. I’ll look it up.

  3. It sounds as if you’re overwhelmed just now, Anne. I hope you can take a bit of time out to put your feet up and grab some much-deserved rest! I see you’ve also got a copy of the latest Richard Osman as an audiobook – I need to get a copy too. I’m hoping you have a kinder week.

  4. That’s good everything went well with the biopsy. I’m avoiding going to BJ’s because I know I’ll be tempted by the Halloween decor they must have out already lol. Hope you and Lulu have a nice week.

  5. It has been so hot here that we’ve had to walk super early or much later to get it at least in the lower 90s. I’m looking forward to cooler weather. Not cold but maybe not oven temperatures! Sounds like you had a busy week. I’m really looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the new Richard Osman. I loved the first book in the series. Have a great week!

  6. Oh… have you heard anything about the next Cinder Spire book? I hope he writes it! I really like that series.

Our weather has cooled off considerably, with nighttime lows in the mid to lower 50s. I have already spied orange and red leaves on some trees. Boo! But I do hope it cools down for you.

I had a busy holiday weekend, which included an amazing whale watching adventure yesterday. We saw eight humpback whales and a pod of 40+ dolphins. Very cool! Now I’m back to my normal work schedule.

  7. That’s nice you could help your neighbor out with those boxes. I hope you get some cooler weathers on, here it has cooled down a bit and it’s been much nicer. Too bad about the power going out, but good thing you have those solar panels that can power things for a bit. That’s annoying you got those review audios so late. Hope you have a good week!
