The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  The Read-along chat is this afternoon!

Sunday, my daughter and I both got a bit of a late start. The guys came already to trim the trees / bushes.  It’s warm and humid.  We went over to her dog sitting house. When leaving she couldn’t get the garage door to close with the code.  She texted them and they told her where a backup key was for the front door. I visited Sunday posts, wrote a review. I fit in a bunch of chores like laundry, dishes, garbage, recycle.   We walked Lulu and thru went to take care of the neighbor dogs, Darcy and Leo.   After dinner, I finished up looking at the bundle sales at Chirp.

Monday,  the yard guys were still doing some work today. Still hot and a bit humid but it was nice by the time we walked Lulu in the late afternoon.  I did of the usual blog visiting, reviewing, planning and setting up post shells.  When my daughter went to feed Darcy and Leo they got out and she had to chase them around the front yard.  Luckily they didn’t go in the street and were easy to catch.

Tuesday,  it’s finally taken a turn and is cooler.  I did some of the blog work this morning. We had the two trips to the neighbors. We walked Lulu. My daughter ate her dinner and went off to bingo with the neighbor. I commenced the weekly watering and found one hose had a big hole in it.  I tried duct tape which was unsuccessful.  I ate my dinner  and Lulu had hers, while I watched some Reacher.

Wednesday,  I compared some sale audios at Audible and Chirp, and if they were available at the library.  My daughter is getting more confidant on the driving around the neighborhood as we go to the dog sitting house.  We took Lulu to get her allergy shot.  We walked her when we got home.

Thursday,  another day with the dog sitting. It’s heating up today. I’m in a cooking mood so I already have next week’s menu plan worked out.  I ran errands to Wegmans.  I got my Winn Decker yard sign!  and also postcards to write for him.  I also got an email about volunteering at the State Fair. We’ve never gone here but did in Iowa and Minnesota.  So we signed up.  You do 2 hours of handing out lit and merch and you get a free ticket into the fair and a T-shirt.  We walked Lulu.   I made salmon, roasted asparagus, and roasted carrots for dinner, all baked but they had to go in at 3 different times to be ready at the same time. It was yummy.

Friday, the morning dog sitting visit,  then right off to errands.  We stopped at the post office so I could get post card stamps, then to a brand new gluten-free bakery, and last at Aldis.  When I got home I got the crockpot going with chicken breasts.  I’m doing bbq chicken, rice and beans, and swiss chard tonight.  We got a lot of items at the bakery to try – cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, sourdough bread and a couple oatmeal raisin cookies.   We are supposed to get rain tonight which would be great. My postcards to swing states arrived (which I requested NC) so I have those to write now also. So I’m serious about wanting everyone to vote!  I was so tired and fell asleep quickly.

Saturday,  this morning is a bit cooler weather. My daughter went off to do the dog sit driving by herself for the first time.  She’s finished her homework so she has the weekend free.  Surprise – Marley is coming tonight instead of Monday.  And my fridge is jam packed right now (her food is refrigerated as is Lulu’s food. My daughter edged the driveway.  I wrote / edited / scheduled some reviews. I put stamps on all the Winn Decker postcards. e walked Lulu all he way to the pool which closed early this week. We vacuumed the grates over the furnace filters and then replaced the filters. Then I swept up the leavings from the edging.  Tonight I’m making Spinach lasagna and we have some gluten free cupcakes to try.

Book cover for The Last Word by Elly Griffiths

Purchases on sale at Chirp.

The Postscript Murders Audiobook By Elly Griffiths cover art

I purchased this one on sale at Audible for $5.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. What a busy week with all the cooking – and that’s a lovely pic of Lulu. I hope you enjoy the Elly Griffiths book – I love the Postscript Murders series and it’s set fairly close to where we live, which is always fun. Have a great week:).

  2. Sweet Lulu💜

I was just wondering about the next Bree Taggert so thanks for the heads up. Kudos to you for all the election volunteering. FYI, many must have complained about GR’s change in how tags are listed in the drop down menu as it’s back to normal. Thank goodness as. It was annoying.

    Have a great week!

  3. Sounds like a good week. I am very worried about the legal challenges that will be springing up all over the US after the election. I do hope everyone votes. I will help my daughter get her absentee ballot.

Fall has arrived for us. High only around 60. Today is overcast and cool. I put away all of the A/C units and even shut most windows. Time to bring out the warmer clothes.
