The Alchemist and an Amaretto was an absolutely great listen for me. Every time I return to this world I’m reminded why these books are so addictive. The blend of magic, action, humor, and character development was perfectly balanced, and I was hooked from beginning to end. I am also completely invested in Cris […]

I originally started The Guild Codex: Warped series out of order of the other books set in this world and I thought they were fun. But I didn’t get the full impact of each story until I started the Read-along with this blog and started over from the very beginning. It has added […]

Round Up the Unusual Suspects by Elizabeth Crowens @elizabethcrowens.bsky.social #LevelBestBooks @partnersincrimevbt.com @sophiarose1816

When murder disrupts the set, Jack Warner turns to the detecting pair who solved the case and saved his last big movie mystery. He insists the funds are “tied up,” but Robin isn’t buying it, and with good reason. Among the items she’s meant to inherit is an ancient grimoire, a powerful magical […]

A bounty hunting team gets offered a new skip and its not long before the skip turns into something bigger, badder, and they’re in way over their head in no time. Winter Austin is a new to me author as is the Bounty of Shadows series, but I wasn’t even off the first page when […]

Once again I have to say these stories get better with each book for me! I love that in this book we really got Ezra’s back story as it was related to the theme of the story. The little short story, Four Shifters and a Stranger, was one that I should probably have read first, […]

Before London’s police force came into being and murder required investigating, the Home Office sent out the cold, clever inquiry agent that sent shivers down the back of the hardened predators slinking through dark alleys. RJ Koreto’s Winter’s Season was my first intro to his writing. I found between the covers a well-researched historical backdrop, […]

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Guild Codex World and so, I’m excited to participate in this Read-Along. The fairy haunting the apartment is a great way to start this second novel in the series. I loved Tori’s time with the Ghost. This was just as exciting and fun as my […]
