On Rachel’s twenty-seventh birthday, she wishes to finally find a rewarding job. What she doesn’t wish is to drink a boatload of wine, sleep with a tattooed bad boy, and drunk email her boss in one glorious, career-ending move. But the fiasco pushes her to pursue a career inspired by her late father’s love of wine: sommelier.
Unfortunately, she’s competing against her infuriating one-night stand, a man as intoxicating as a Pinot Noir.
Two years ago, Jimmy was set to inherit his family winery. Then it got ripped from his grasp. To close that dark chapter of his life, he plans to win a local sommelier contest and use the press to expose his family’s tainted wines.
Jimmy loves studying the streaks of alcohol that cling to a wineglass, known as the wine’s “legs,” but other shapely legs are stealing his focus. Tantalizing legs. Legs that had wrapped around his waist for one wild night. Jimmy, sadly, has a weakness for legs.
He also hates to lose.
Whoa! *Fans self* Legs is one hot and sexy story. But it is so much more. The setting is Northern California with a wine theme. The couple is in their late 20s. They and their friends have some issues with their careers and families.
I liked Rachel. I could understand her need to figure out what she wanted to do for a career. But I could never conform myself to try to meet someone else’s expectations as much as she did for so long. Because she tried to be someone else, she doesn’t know who she is. Rachel has two close friends but they aren’t completely developed yet. I’m still glad she has their support. At the start, they meet for a birthday and make wishes for the upcoming year.
Jimmy has spent the past two years on his own, becoming his own person. And I love him. But he has severe family trust issues. He hasn’t really focused on his career. Mostly it feels like he has been hiding, getting himself together.
Rachel and Jimmy together are a joy. The sex is sizzling and a bit detailed. They have fun, adding so much to each other’s life. Rachel grows to find herself and have the courage to be who she is. Jimmy has to learn to trust again; it’s a tough lesson. I think the rest of the One Wild Wish series is about Rachel’s friends and their wishes. I’m excited to read more!
Narration:
I listened at 1.25x speed which is typical for me. There were two narrators for this story. The chapters in the story alternated between Rachel and Jimmy’s point of view. Samantha Cook handled Rachel’s chapters; while Aaron Shedlock performed Jimmy’s chapters. It took me a bit to settle in with Samantha Cook’s voice for Rachel but it felt right pretty quickly. I didn’t like her voice for Jimmy too much. Most of the time I was engrossed in the story so it wasn’t an issue. Aaron Shedlock did an excellent job with both male and female voices. I enjoyed his Jimmy.

I have read all of the books in this series, so I didn’t pick up the audiobooks for review; however, I LOVE the third book SOOO MUCH! I may need to check it out in audiobook when it comes out.
I really like Kelly Siskind’s voice and characters. I look forward to see what she does next. Nice review!
Thanks Jen! I was encouraged to get the audio by your reviews. I’m listening to Stud now and have requested Licks which the audio releases in June. I think it’s awesome. And it is HOT. I can’t listen while shopping. lol.
Glad you really enjoyed this book. I’ve not tried this author or either of the narrators. Maybe one day.
