The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
I’ve got several giveaways going on right now – check them out on the right sidebar!
I did the Twist this week for COYER which was audiobooks only. This was the best and worst kind of hell because I got some amazing ARCs. I’ll post my Twist readings on Facebook this afternoon.
So our 4th of July was going along pretty well. It was sunny and hot, as it has been. But the wind shifted so it was coming from the north. There were to be thunderstorms and cooler temperatures following, 80s instead of 90s. I was working on some reviews, relaxing after dinner when the fierce winds hit. A tree toppled over and crashed into the side of the house, then the deck. I went downstairs to see if any windows were broken. When I came back to the office, there was water leaking in on one side. What a mess!
Yesterday I was able to relax and work on a baby quilt for a friend. Besides the design, the hand sewing of the binding is my favorite part. I also listened to 3 shorter audios while sewing which turned out to be great!
Starting today, I work 5 days in a row, long days, on my feet the whole time except lunch break. I’ll be tired. I am sorry to say I won’t be visiting many other blogs this week. Thankfully, all my daily posts are finished and scheduled to go.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. Here are the exciting ARCs I received this past week.
Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews The Astronaut’s Son
Yes, this came to me on Monday, July 2 and I quickly settled in and read it. Good thing I didn’t have any more important plans (like anything could be more important?!?!) I’ll read it again before the end of August, as part of the Read-along.
The Astronaut’s Son is part of a blog tour in early October which I was invited to join. It’s rather exciting being a joint event with the movie release starring Ryan Gosling. There will be a giveway.
A Killer’s Mind by Mike Omer Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham
A Killer’s Mind is the one of the 6 prime books which prime members can get one free (one month before they publish August 1). So it’s purchased but it was free.
Audiobookstand.com is closing their business July 31, 2018. This is a discount group which has audiobooks from Brilliance. I bought several for $3 or $4 of the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham. Many of the audios aren’t available from the library so I decided to buy the ones they had, especially with most narrated by Luke Daniels. I was able to get 8 of them out of the 26 books in the series.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I was so thrilled to get the first in the Dogfather series as a freebie. I’ve been wanting to read this series since it first released. I even bought one of the later ones. Sadly, one of my libraries has any of them and I wanted to try the first before I committed to buying them all.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know. I work odd hours with no access to phone or Internet so sometimes I’m not around to approve comments right away. I work today.

I am so sorry to hear about the tree hitting your house. What a mess! The baby quilt is gorgeous, Anne! Magic Triumphs was just so good. I started reading it as soon as it hit my Kindle and I can’t wait to read it again. I hope you survive your long work week. Have a great week!
Well today was a good day at work. So let’s hope that trend continues. I LOVED Magic Triumphs – I’ll be reading it again before my review as part of the read-along. But yes I waited maybe an hour to start it after I got it on Tuesday. They are coming to do the roof tomorrow and luckily it is all outside so I don’t have to be home. Wouldn’t you know this is the nicest day of weather we have had in about 2 months today! It’s gorgeous.
Oh, yikes! Glad you are safe after the tree fell from that wind storm. Hopefully the repairs will go smoothly for you.
Love your quilt work and neat that you got to read Magic Triumphs already. The book tour for fall is pretty nifty, too.
I am right there with you picking up all those freebies. 🙂
Wishing you a good week back to work, Anne!
Thanks Sophia! I was so happy to be able to finish the quilt. I have so much fabric and need to get back to stuff. I’m going to try to do one more before July 18th. We will see how it goes. At least I can listen to audiobooks, while I quilt. Have a lovely week!
That’s terrific there for the tree…
I’m almost done with Magic Triumphs, really enjoying it!
Happy reading!
It’s amazing!!!! It’s a book to enjoy again and again! Have a good week!
Sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you. That baby blanket is beautiful, I wish I could create things like that!
Thank you! I was in 4-H for 10 years, age 8-18. So I learned to sew. I didn’t learn to quilt until later though. I love the design and sewing the binding. The piecing is less fun but really it is all good. Thanks for visiting.
I haven’t read Heather Graham in so long! I have to pick something up by her. Sorry the tree hit your house. One year a storm tore our service entrance to our electric, right off our house, along with a huge hole from it in our roof. Have a better week.
Mary my #SundayRoundup #26!
Well Heather Graham has 2 books in one of my favorite genres plus the narrator is Luke Daniels!
Every day is a good day! Thanks for stopping by!
Wow, sorry about the tree. That sucks. I hope work goes well and that you have a good week!
Sorry to hear about the tree hitting the house! Yikes! Glad no one was injured. I keep forgetting about summer COYER- I usually do it but this year I never signed up. Hope you’re enjoying it!
A Killer’s Mind looks good.
Have a great week.
Oh dear, sorry about the tree falling! But that quilt is amazing. My mom also makes quilt, but they’re bubble quilts – they’re fluffy 🙂
