The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Today is the last day for the Series on Saturday  Historical amateur British detectives, please enter!

Sunday,  it’s sunny and melting.  I stayed up late and finished my book so I slept in late.  Lulu didn’t seem keen to go in the backyard.  After a quick breakfast, we went out for a long walk.  It was nice and the sidewalks had melted and were dry mostly.  I saw the swans on the pond which is on the other side of our neighborhood.  I often see them while walking and every year, their babies. I decided to have leftovers tonight and move the menu plan out one day. The fridge is so full we don’t need more leftovers.

Monday,  another sunny, warmer and melting day.  I’m into Wordle now but today was hard.  I had all the letters but in all the wrong places until the end. I find double consonants are the hardest to figure. Lulu and I had a nice walk.

Tuesday,  another sunny and actually warm day, almost 60F, 14C.  My daughter was still up when I finished showering this morning at 11 am.  So she’s not getting up until dinner is on the table tonight.  We are watching Worst Cooks and wow, some are bad.  I managed to vacuum the main floor.

Wednesday, today was colder and windier.  Lulu and I still took a nice walk.  I called about my daughter’s Rx refills.  I also called for an appointment with her neurologist. We are now just once a year since the treatment has been fairly effective.  One has to call 3 months in advance to get scheduled and lucky I did a little early because she is moving out of state so she got in as one of the last appointments. I hope she can recommend someone as good.

Thursday,  here I thought I was keeping up on things so well, and I forgot all about the giveaway which ended Monday!  I needed to pick a winner.  I am excited about how many entries and the amount of participation, thank you all.   The quotes and observations need to be added to the next post.  The questions for Jeaniene entered in a document or spreadsheet. I also have to pick up my daughter’s Rx as they are finally ready.  I stopped at Aldi for a few items too.  AND today I start buddy reading my favorite (so far) book in the series.

Friday, the weather was a little warmer.  I did some cleaning.  I walked Lulu.  My ex arrived for dinner to visit for a couple weeks.  Lulu’s new waterproof socks arrived.   I grilled out for dinner but after dark the wind picked up and it was snowing by midnight.

Saturday, today is cold and even more so because of strong winds.  I did try putting a tarp on the ground, suggested by Jinjer, which worked to keep a patch of grass clear of snow.  Lulu went out in her coat and new sock-boots.  She walked kind of funny and tripped a bit but she went all over and even into the snowy part of the yard.  If I get them on better, I think they will work fine for snowy or wet walks.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

Thanks to Thomas & Mercer,   and Brilliance Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

Audio: Deicide (Agents of MORTAL, #1) by M.K. Gibson read by Jeffrey Kafer, Heather Costa

I snapped up a $1.99 deal for the Kindle version.  Then I got $5 audios on sale at Audible.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

    • lol I don’t count on leftovers until they are leftover. But with just the two of us we often have them. Last week’s snow was more and took a few days to melt. Yesterday was less and it’s all gone. I accidentally played Wordle on my phone which apparently keeps a second log so now I try to only play on my laptop.

  1. Oh the days of being able to stay awake late. I absolutely cannot stay up past 12am although I do have an overnight sleep shift which doesn’t allow me to sleep until midnight regularly. Sleep is a god’s send.

  2. Nice that Lulu has more protection for her paws while taking walks now. Poor little paws! Sounds like you’ve had a busy week! Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

  3. When we were in Oregon, I saw some German Shepherds going for a walk in booties, for what looked like one of their first tries. It was really hot that day, so I think the owner was trying to protect their pads from the hot pavement. Anyway, they were really cute, high stepping and unsure what to think of these things on their feet. You could tell they were just putting up with it to humor their person. But good for you (and that owner) for taking care of your dog’s feet in less-than-ideal weather.

    Enjoy your week!

  4. Everyone is talking about Wordle but I haven’t tried it yet. I couldn’t imagine what my dogs would do if I tried to put a coat or socks on them. I hope that you have a great week and enjoy all of your new books.

  5. I love it when the sun is out in winter. We need a little to melt some of this snow. 🙂

I’ve been seeing Hurwitz around quite a bit lately ! 🙂

  6. So much snow! I’m glad you managed to get boots for Lulu. I remember when I was a kid, the dogs would come in with snow clumps stuck to the fur in between the pads of their feet (as well as everywhere else) and we’d need to gently melt/tease them off… It was such a hassle and couldn’t have been nice for the dogs! Boots seem like a much better solution.

Hope you have a good week, Anne!

Lulu is so cute! I have never been able to get a dog to keep socks or booties on. I love Molly Harpers books The Single Undead Mom’s Club was good, hope you enjoy.

Lulu in the snow is so cute!

I had a decent week. It was busy and then we had the massive blizzard and we did NOTHING on Saturday. I did go into the office this week, which was a nice change. I love working from home, but it gets lonely sometimes.

    • A busy week can be good because at least you are not bored and hopefully get something done. I also appreciate the importance of doing nothing on some days. yes, but just because you are in the office may not mean it is less lonely. When I was young, I was so focused on my work I could go a whole week in the office with no one speaking to me. I might as well have been programming at home.

  9. So it seems that me, Carole, and Samantha are the only three people in the world not playing Wordle. LOL
I try to plan for leftovers sometimes and it’s nice to stretch something so I can skip cooking one night. I meant to plan the week’s menus today but that never happened. Oops. Guess I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow! 🙂

  10. Ha ha I’m so glad the tarp worked for Miss LuLu! That’s so cute about her coat and boots.

So I have a question, we have a possible ice storm coming. If it knocks out the power, how do me and the 94-yo and cat keep from freezing to death??? And starving to death. I’m trying not to freak out, but I’m from L.A. via Arizona so I don’t know how to survive in the cold without heat. And no we don’t have any family or friends here. And how the heck will I work if the power is out for days??? I’m thinking about when there was an ice storm here in 2009. I wasn’t here but I guess the power was out for like 8 days! OMG we’re going to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

    • I think it’s much more difficult in an area not set up to handle it. In Minnesota, they had excellent preparation and equipment which most southern states don’t have. If you can take a short trip to a hotel which has power, I’m not sure I have the best ideas. If the temperatures rebound pretty quickly, you can wear warmer layers and blankets and when you get too cold take a short drive in the car to warm up. When we lost power, I did a lot of grilling. My current grill even has a burner which I used for a pot to steam veggies. But veggies could be grilled too. I wish I was more knowledgeable.

  11. I’m going to have to check out Wordle – it sounds like my kind of puzzle. Thank you for sharing the pics of Lulu in the snow – she does look cute, though unimpressed with the snow. I don’t blame her – I don’t like it, either. Fortunately, living a cough and spit away from the coast, it’s very unusual to get any snowfall here and if we do, it generally doesn’t hang around for long. I hope you have a good week, Anne.
