Sunday, I’m glad it’s stopped raining. It was good for the garden but the backyard is squishy. I’m enjoying my usual visiting. Today starts the mystery RAT for COYER and I’m ready to go! I started after midnight last night. I wrote some reviews. I continued to reload the repaired computer. I started using it tonight although there are still some things to fix.
Monday, so far I think BetterWorldBooks is going to be my choice to replace Book Depository. I did some of the commenting and visiting. I’ve been enjoying my mystery books for the RAT. Of course one of my key apps I run is ClipboardMaster and it had some kind of update, so I had to recreate all my hotkey items. Luckily they were all ok on the backup computer and now I documented them in a Google doc. My Mastercook I bought online last year but you have to subscribe to download it. It’s very spendy now even on sale. I have my DVD from an older version with the same file format so I’ll load that up. I tried to start my phone update but it didn’t go. I worked on sorting all our tax paperwork. I did my daughter’s taxes and submitted them. I got mine started but then it was time for dinner.
Tuesday, I ran to the post office, Aldi’s and then a Walmart pickup. My daughter had gone back to sleep so Lulu was in the crate. My daughter finished knitting her blanket for her bed. Now she’s starting one for her aunt, her father’s sister.
Wednesday, I was glad to have a day at home. I called Apple again because my iTunes still isn’t seeing my iphone. I reset my backup to start going again nightly so I can uninstall and reinstall iTunes tomorrow. At least this time, I got a senior advisor.
Thursday, another nice day at home. I did uninstall and reinstall iTunes which did not fix the problem. No energy to call Apple again. I worked on my taxes and finished the federal. They wanted $$ for the state which if I can do free file I’ll do it on paper and mail it.
Friday, today is a rainy one, good for the garden. I need to mow soon. After trying numerous programs, I filled in the .pdf form for the state and have it ready to mail, so my taxes are finished. I looked at the series Audible sale and bought 9 audiobooks for $49. Most were finishing series I already had some or Audible only titles.
Saturday, I did my visiting and a little setup for the 2024 Read-along. With my taxes finished, I’m feeling a bit lazy. I might wait until Monday to mow when my daughter is up earlier to keep Lulu company. I did my Library Love and COYER linkups for mid month.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My sincere thanks to Avon / William Morrow, and Montlake.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I got these 9 audiobooks for $49 at the Audible series sale.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

BetterWorldBooks ? That’s good to know as I had no idea what would replace book depository! Also I love the ramp you have for Lulu to reach the couch LOL
Thanks Sophie. I am going to try BWB. I don’t know how the ramp will go since we are still trying to keep her immobile. I placed her on it last night for the first time and she seemed scared of it. Sigh.
I love the set of stairs for Lulu. I hope she’s using them and been a good dog this week about taking it easy! I love the blanket your daughter made! That must have taken quite a while. I need to work on my blanket more often.
Thank you. My daughter knits while she watches stuff and to relax. But it is huge, oversized queen. Lulu has not used the ramp we are using it to block her from jumping for now as we still have another week of keeping her immobile.
I did my taxes this week as well. It is never fun. We have stairs for Calleigh to our bed but we need to get a set for the couch as well. Have a great week!
I don’t know why I always wait so long to do the taxes. It isn’t really so difficult. The big time waster was I entered the fed info into 3 different free files to try to find a free state. Then I ended up just doing the form and mailing it. Another week of immobility for Lulu, although she is trying to do more, then we will see if she will use the ramp.
Sounds like a busy week! I love the cover of Welcome to Beach Town so much I’m going to check it out. My dachshunds have a ramp to get up on the couch too, and they love it. Have a wonderful week!
Thanks Bonnie! It seemed pretty subdued this week without walks and trying to keep Lulu still. I hope she likes the ramp once we try it.
Oh wow! That blanket on your daughter’s bed is fabulous – I have made a number of knitted squares blankets, but something on that scale is truly impressive. And that set of steps for Lulu is a fantastic idea – I need to let my daughter know as her little dog is badly injured and recovering. Seeing all those Toby Daye books reminds me that I started the series and thoroughly enjoyed it – then stopped it for some reason. Great to see it’s on audio. Have a great week, Anne:).
Thank you Sarah. The blanket is huge and it was her relaxation while watching stuff. I hope Lulu likes the ramp once we start allowing her more movement. Another week yet. I have not read any of the Toby Daye series but decided since those were on sale to start collecting them since they are Audible only. I always thought it would be a Read-along but I worry when it is Audible only. I prefer to choose things which can also be from the library.
My goodness, all those freebie thriller titles! I’m jealous. I just don’t have time to keep up with all the freebies I’ve already gathered…..I need to retire! 🙂 Here in Seattle we’ve had 55d days and lots of rain, rain, drizzle, rain. And it’s forecast again for this week. Sigh. I wish this spring would dry out a bit! and warm up a bit! Have a terrific week.

Who knows if I will get to them all but I will have them if I want them. I hope you get some sun. We are having rain every weekend but have kept the sun and sometimes heat during the week. Mid 80s for the middle of the week here. But 70 today so I have to get the lawn mowed.
I have only ordered from Book Depository once or twice but I am still sad to see them close. I don’t think that my dog would use a ramp. We pick all 50 lbs of her up when necessary. My sister is a CPA so I hand all of my tax stuff off to her. I am spoiled. Have a great week!
The ramp is good up to 100 pounds and easily portable but we will see if she will even use it. One of my degrees is in accounting and I’ve been doing taxes for years. Luckily ours are not complicated.
I’ve got all the October Daye books on audio and have been zipping through them. I missed that the Mystery Coyer started.
yes I am starting to collect Toby Daye books. I’ve always wanted to read them / do a RA. I see you are also reading the excellent Andrea Penrose books I binged last year.
Good luck with the RAT! It’s good to see some alternatives now that Book Depository is going away. I’m sad to see that go 🙁
Hope you have a great week
We will see how BetterWorldBooks works out as I am sad to lose Book Depository also. I am having no difficulty devouring a bunch of mysteries.
Sounds like a pretty good week! That ramp looks like the same ones I have for my two dogs. They’re not cheap, but they’re really good and totally worth the expense to keep my dogs from getting hurt. Hope Lulu learns to use it and then keeps using it! Have a good week!
Thank you Lisa. I really hope Lulu will adapt. She’s smart but also cautious.
The blanket looks great! How frustrating about iTunes. I hope you eventually get it sorted out. Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Tammy. My daughter did a fine job with the blanket. I hope I can get this iTunes problem sorted. I’m thinking I may have to find a different audio player and the choices are limited. I also have more stuff to do than spend a couple hours on the phone with Apple.
Ah, yes, all those updates, they can be super annoying. And I truly hate iTunes. I hope you get your issues sorted. Have a great week!
Thank you Role. Me too.
You got a lot done this week, yes celebrate having the taxes done by doing something or nothing to relax!
Thank you Victoria. Lots done, lots to do. At least I’m on track with reviews and not behind right now.
My dog would not use the stairs I bought him when he slipped a disc. I had to stop him from jumping and pick him up to the couch or when he wanted to get down. I think I bought the wrong stairs because they are not as sturdy as I wanted and maybe that’s why he won’t use them. I’m hoping he doesn’t hurt himself again. I’ve never knitted but I did crochet a baby blanket for my grandson.
Well I hope Lulu will use them. She’s very cautious though. The ramp will support up to 100 pounds and she’s 17 pounds.
Sounds like a decent week. *hugs* to Lulu. My weekend was pretty low key. We had really nice weather on Thursday and Friday. The neighbors all got together for drinks and snacks on the deck (my neighbors). I had a fun Girl Scout meeting on Sunday. Now it’s cold and rainy today (Monday). I think it’s going to be just so-so for the weather this week.
yes oddly enough the rain is always Fri-Sat-Sun here this month. It doesn’t really make much difference to me but it is sad for people who have their time off on the weekends.
You’re so good with all the computer stuff, Anne! I usually have to have my husband help with all that stuff. After having a nice weekend of 70s we’ve cooled down again and are getting rain here again, too. It is good for the garden at least. That blanket looks so neat! I can only crochet and it’s been years. I never learned to knit. Look at Lulu with her ramp! Looks like you got some good books. The Will Trent series is one of my favorites. I’m not really thrilled about the actors they picked for the TV series so I just pretend it isn’t the Will Trent from the books and enjoy it as a crime procedural show.
Thank you Rachel. I should be a little good with computer stuff as I have undergrad and graduate degrees in computer sciences. It changes quickly and I could be better. My daughter and I are both knitters. My grandma could knit, crochet, tat quilt by hand, everything. I can crochet but prefer knitting. My daughter is trying crochet now from videos online. I love the Will Trent series. I am collecting the audios while on sale. I’ve read them all.
The knitted blanket looks so nice. I hope Lulu’s feeling better. We’ve had a lot of rain here too. Enjoy our week!
Thank you Naida. It’s my daughter’s stress relief so the pattern is fairly simple but it turned out nicely. Lulu is feeling better I think. She’s trying more to be active but we are still to keep her immobile yet this week. Although she did have some vomiting on Sunday.
Ugh taxes. Glad yours are complete. I’m really glad mine are done, too. lol There has got to be a better system! sigh It’s really nice so far this week even if it’s chilly in the morning. Trip and I are headed out this morning to mow and stuff. We’ll see how much we can get done before I call it quits. 😀
This week looks really nice, almost hot in the middle. I did the mowing yesterday but the batteries ran out so I didn’t get to do the trimming or edging. Today is errands. There is always more I want to do.
Sweet Lulu💜 Is she all better now?
Congrats on your great Audible sale finds! Both Match & Broken were 5-Star listens for me. Nice haul, Anne.
Thank you Jonetta. We are still keeping Lulu immobile. Her appt is next Monday and we will know more then. The waiting is killing me. She doesn’t seem to be in pain so that’s something.
I haven’t read The Match but I have read Broken.
Taxes took us 2 hours UGH
Well I spent more time than 2 hours. Nothing was difficult other than trying 3 different software programs to see which one could do the state free.
Love those freebies!
We’ve had a very dry spring and it’s making me nervous.

Thank you Jill. We are getting some rain each week which is kind of typical here. It isn’t often it rains all day long.
I used to use MasterCook and did think they were very impressed with themselves cost-wise. Definitely frustrating though thinks for the reminder to make sure I have all the recipes I want off of it! I love the stairs for Lulu! A good solution and so much easier on her joints. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
I like Mastercook but v14 is not that much different than v8. For home applications, I am just not going to pay $50 a year for a subscription. Luckily, I have my DVD so I can access my stuff and I don’t need the newest version.
I really want to know how Lulu is doing and what is next. I am glad our vet appt is next week. I hope she will use the ramp.
