The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I’m glad it’s stopped raining. It was good for the garden but the backyard is squishy. I’m enjoying my usual visiting. Today starts the mystery RAT for COYER and I’m ready to go!  I started after midnight last night. I wrote some reviews.  I continued to reload the repaired computer.  I started using it tonight although there are still some things to fix.

Monday, so far I think BetterWorldBooks is going to be my choice to replace Book Depository.  I did some of the commenting and visiting.  I’ve been enjoying my mystery books for the RAT. Of course one of my key apps I run is ClipboardMaster and it had some kind of update, so I had to recreate all my hotkey items. Luckily they were all ok on the backup computer and now I documented them in a Google doc. My Mastercook I bought online last year but you have to subscribe to download it. It’s very spendy now even on sale.  I have my DVD from an older version with the same file format so I’ll load that up.  I tried to start my phone update but it didn’t go.   I worked on sorting all our tax paperwork.  I did my daughter’s taxes and submitted them.  I got mine started but then it was time for dinner.

Tuesday,  I ran to the post office, Aldi’s and then a Walmart pickup.  My daughter had gone back to sleep so Lulu was in the crate.  My daughter finished knitting her blanket for her bed.  Now she’s starting one for her aunt, her father’s sister.

Wednesday,  I was glad to have a day at home.  I called Apple again because my iTunes still isn’t seeing my iphone.  I reset my backup to start going again nightly so I can uninstall and reinstall iTunes tomorrow.  At least this time, I got a senior advisor.

Thursday, another nice day at home. I did uninstall and reinstall iTunes which did not fix the problem.  No energy to call Apple again.  I worked on my taxes and finished the federal.  They wanted $$ for the state which if I can do free file I’ll do it on paper and mail it.

Friday, today is a rainy one, good for the garden. I need to mow soon. After trying numerous programs, I filled in the .pdf form for the state and have it ready to mail, so my taxes are finished.   I looked at the series Audible sale and bought 9 audiobooks for $49.  Most were finishing series I already had some or Audible only titles.

Saturday, I did my visiting and a little setup for the 2024 Read-along.  With my taxes finished, I’m feeling a bit lazy.  I might wait until Monday to mow when my daughter is up earlier to keep Lulu company.  I did my Library Love and COYER linkups for mid month.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My sincere thanks to Avon / William Morrow, and   Montlake.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got these 9 audiobooks for $49 at the Audible series sale.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. BetterWorldBooks ? That’s good to know as I had no idea what would replace book depository! Also I love the ramp you have for Lulu to reach the couch LOL

  2. I love the set of stairs for Lulu. I hope she’s using them and been a good dog this week about taking it easy! I love the blanket your daughter made! That must have taken quite a while. I need to work on my blanket more often.

  3. Sounds like a busy week! I love the cover of Welcome to Beach Town so much I’m going to check it out. My dachshunds have a ramp to get up on the couch too, and they love it. Have a wonderful week!

  4. Oh wow! That blanket on your daughter’s bed is fabulous – I have made a number of knitted squares blankets, but something on that scale is truly impressive. And that set of steps for Lulu is a fantastic idea – I need to let my daughter know as her little dog is badly injured and recovering. Seeing all those Toby Daye books reminds me that I started the series and thoroughly enjoyed it – then stopped it for some reason. Great to see it’s on audio. Have a great week, Anne:).

    • Thank you Sarah. The blanket is huge and it was her relaxation while watching stuff. I hope Lulu likes the ramp once we start allowing her more movement. Another week yet. I have not read any of the Toby Daye series but decided since those were on sale to start collecting them since they are Audible only. I always thought it would be a Read-along but I worry when it is Audible only. I prefer to choose things which can also be from the library.

  5. My goodness, all those freebie thriller titles! I’m jealous. I just don’t have time to keep up with all the freebies I’ve already gathered…..I need to retire! 🙂 Here in Seattle we’ve had 55d days and lots of rain, rain, drizzle, rain. And it’s forecast again for this week. Sigh. I wish this spring would dry out a bit! and warm up a bit! Have a terrific week.

  6. I have only ordered from Book Depository once or twice but I am still sad to see them close. I don’t think that my dog would use a ramp. We pick all 50 lbs of her up when necessary. My sister is a CPA so I hand all of my tax stuff off to her. I am spoiled. Have a great week!

  7. Good luck with the RAT! It’s good to see some alternatives now that Book Depository is going away. I’m sad to see that go 🙁

Hope you have a great week

  8. My dog would not use the stairs I bought him when he slipped a disc. I had to stop him from jumping and pick him up to the couch or when he wanted to get down. I think I bought the wrong stairs because they are not as sturdy as I wanted and maybe that’s why he won’t use them. I’m hoping he doesn’t hurt himself again. I’ve never knitted but I did crochet a baby blanket for my grandson.

  9. Sounds like a decent week. *hugs* to Lulu. My weekend was pretty low key. We had really nice weather on Thursday and Friday. The neighbors all got together for drinks and snacks on the deck (my neighbors). I had a fun Girl Scout meeting on Sunday. Now it’s cold and rainy today (Monday). I think it’s going to be just so-so for the weather this week.

  10. You’re so good with all the computer stuff, Anne! I usually have to have my husband help with all that stuff. After having a nice weekend of 70s we’ve cooled down again and are getting rain here again, too. It is good for the garden at least. That blanket looks so neat! I can only crochet and it’s been years. I never learned to knit. Look at Lulu with her ramp! Looks like you got some good books. The Will Trent series is one of my favorites. I’m not really thrilled about the actors they picked for the TV series so I just pretend it isn’t the Will Trent from the books and enjoy it as a crime procedural show.

    • Thank you Rachel. I should be a little good with computer stuff as I have undergrad and graduate degrees in computer sciences. It changes quickly and I could be better. My daughter and I are both knitters. My grandma could knit, crochet, tat quilt by hand, everything. I can crochet but prefer knitting. My daughter is trying crochet now from videos online. I love the Will Trent series. I am collecting the audios while on sale. I’ve read them all.

  11. Ugh taxes. Glad yours are complete. I’m really glad mine are done, too. lol There has got to be a better system! sigh It’s really nice so far this week even if it’s chilly in the morning. Trip and I are headed out this morning to mow and stuff. We’ll see how much we can get done before I call it quits. 😀

  12. I used to use MasterCook and did think they were very impressed with themselves cost-wise. Definitely frustrating though thinks for the reminder to make sure I have all the recipes I want off of it! I love the stairs for Lulu! A good solution and so much easier on her joints. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
