The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Last day for Besieged giveaway!

Sunday, it’s a chilly morning of 50F / 10C and I haven’t turned on the heat yet.  The wind is the chill.  This week will be 70s / 20-25C, but the following week will drop to the highs only in the 60s.  My snow peas have finally reached the surface, no sign of the chard planted from seed yet.  But the chard plants, broccoli and lettuce are enjoying the cool weather.  Lulu is happy with her sweater.  I finally decided on menu plans for the week after my blog visiting.

Monday,  still cool.  I called the neurologist again as my daughter is not better.  The next route is a 3 day treatment with IV for 2 hours a day to try to break the migraine.  I helped my daughter change her sheets. Then I took Lulu for a walk finally.  I’ve just felt tired the last couple days. Still, I was reading a good book and stayed up late to finish.

Tuesday, another nice day.  I took Kayla for her walk, then Abby and Lulu.  Lulu is just the best girl.  She sat on the steps to our house watching me walk Kayla.  After we walked with Abby, Lulu sat on the floor in the neighbor’s garage while I took Abby inside.   On the way back, I talked to another neighbor, because we will have Max Thur-Sun.  He has no teeth and is blind.  I hope he feels comfortable here.  We got notification that insurance has approved an MRI, but no approval for the IV yet. I did some blog edits. After dinner, we took Lulu out and got to see Marley too.  They played just a little.

Wednesday, I woke up before the alarm. I read a bit. Then there was the walk with Kayla, then Abby and Lulu. I wrote some reviews and set up some posts.  I finally mowed the lawn since we didn’t hear from the doctor. Max came over to spend the weekend with us since his family will be out of town.  He is blind and elderly but we have enjoyed visiting with him.   Lulu has done pretty well with him.  He doesn’t have a crate so we have set him and his food up in the half bath. He did pee and poop during the night so it’s good I put a tarp on the floor and a pee pad.

Thursday,  it wasn’t supposed to rain today.  Of course, Lulu and Max both hate the rain.  Max did his business very well.  Lulu was quick about hers too. It was barely sprinkling. I thought I might have to let Kayla and Abby out and walk later but it had just stopped so we managed a nice walk.  We called the neurologist to see if the approval had come through.  It apparently came through yesterday but they didn’t let us know! I set up BlueSky and looked a bit more at info about FS Poster.  I’m drowning in social media.  The ones I have, other than Twitter, I don’t follow enough people or have enough followers to have much interesting info or interaction.  Max loves to wander around the yard and it was a nice evening. It’s getting dark at 7pm so it’s totally dark after dinner.

Friday,  I got up and let Max outside and Lulu.   I set Max in a dog bed and went to clean up his messes from overnight.  I put his bed and blanket into the wash. When I came back to feed him, Max was eating Lulu’s food!  I made another batch for Lulu and gave it to her in the kitchen which she ate right away.  At least she didn’t bother Max over it.  She is such a good girl.  I took Max out a second time and Marley came over to play.   I got Max settled in the office. He moved out of the bed I set up for him and drank from the water bowl and then went into Lulu’s bed and fell asleep. Lulu has a second bed over by my desk and she was happy to be there.  I called the neurologist and they said if we don’t hear by 1pm to call back.  I am not optimistic.   Lulu and I went to walk Kayla and Abby.  My daughter got up and stayed with Max and ate breakfast. Benedict Jacka linked to my review on his website! We sat outside before lunch and the weather was so lovely.  I vacuumed my room and then the upstairs while my daughter and the dogs were in the kitchen working on lunch. We called the neurologist again and it was still just wait, someone will call you. I sat outside for over an hour with the dogs in the yard because the weather was so gorgeous. I grilled and we had chard from the garden for dinner.

Saturday, it’s raining today but so lightly the dogs aren’t minding it much. I’m not sure if Max likes being here but he seems to like Lulu’s beds and sleeps a lot.  I have reviews to write. The rain cleared up by around 3 so then it was easier to be outside a bit longer. I’m happy to have an easy dinner planned. Sorry I still have NOT purchased FS Poster. I didn’t have much time this week.   This week looks good with temps around 65F / 19C  and sunshine.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My grateful thanks to Elizabeth Hunter.

NONE

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. It sounds like you had a busy week plus with dog-sitting Max. Lulu looks cozy in her sweater. I’ve been putting Otises sweater on too this past week. I hope your daughter’s migraines lets up soon and the IV treatments work. Mind boggling that the insurance came through and they didn’t notify you.

  2. I saw Dust Born yesterday somewhere, it looks good! Is Max part dachshund at least? He looks like it. We’ve been getting the cooler weather here too! Insurance is crazy with getting approvals for things, and I’ll go and pay at the doctor and then get a bill for more later. It’s really annoying. Oh well. That’s the state of health insurance in our country unfortunately. Hope you have a good week!

  3. That has to be so frustrating trying to get the go ahead for what your daughter needs. I hope she gets some relief soon. Glad the dog sitting is going fairly well and Lulu sounds like a perfect host. I say the same thing about freebies. I don’t mind grabbing them but I need to make sure I read one every once in a while.

  4. Hopefully this new treatment for your daughter will do the trick. Ah, sweet how Lulu gets along with Max and the other dogs. Glad you got some relaxation time to enjoy your yard after all the work you do in it.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  5. I hope your daughter gets into see someone soon and it alleviates fixes her pain! It’s so draining to deal with health issues! My heart goes out to you two having to endure all of that!

Lulu is such a good girl! Poor Max being deaf and blind. 🙁 We’ve been having cooler weather and did get 1/2 ” of rain, but we’re going to have 3 days of 80+ degrees this week, yet it’s still down in the 50s at night. My flowers and plants have been enjoying the warmer weather. We cool down again end of the week.

Not sure what FS Poster is. Is it an automatic social media sharer? I just end up doing it manually, when I think of it that is, lol. All these different sites to share on is getting absurd and exhausting. I’m just going to share on sites I would normally look on myself and then be done with it. I only ever go on Facebook for our chats and once and a while I share a giveaway. I hardly go on Threads yet, but I imagine eventually that’ll be the thing to do instead of X. So I’m not sharing regular on FB cause I don’t care about it and sporadically on Threads because I’m not on that hardly at at either. We have the button on the bottom of Blogger on posts that will automatically share on Twitter (or X, now as it’s called *insert eyeroll here*) if you click it, so because it’s easy I do it when I think of it.

    • Thank you Rachel. Last week we couldn’t get anything scheduled so I hope we get something this week. Max is blind but not deaf. Lulu was so nice to him. She was a little sad he didn’t want to play. We’re going to be 60s this week, so cooler. yes FS Poster is a social media sharer. It connects to Twitter, Facebook, Mastodon, Instagram and Threads like all at once. The only thing it doesn’t do is Bluesky which I just tried and I like it. The problem with everything but Twitter and Facebook is I just don’t have the followers and I haven’t found and followed everyone so the interaction and info is little. I think Threads or Bluesky will be the final answer instead of twitter but who knows. And on WordPress the only share buttons are for Twitter, Facebook and Mastodon.

  6. I hope your daughter’s migraine eases up soon—either because she gets the IV or because it goes away on its own. That must be so frustrating for her, and for you as well.

I love seeing Lulu in her sweater, and the two dogs snoozing in their beds. It’s lovely that you’re able to help out with Max.

How exciting that Benedict Jacka linked to your review! I should try that series again; it always sounds so interesting. I started book 1 years ago, but you know how it is: if you pick it up when you’re in the wrong mood, you end up putting it down unfinished.

Here’s the link to my Sunday Post for this week. I put it up late, and for some reason, CommentLuv (or whatever you’re using) doesn’t see it yet.

  7. I’ve started doing menu plans as I’m trying to eat healthier. It helps too with shopping not to forget things lol. It’s been cooling off too here. Lots of rain.

I’m sorry to hear about your daughter and hope you get good news or hear from the neurologist soon. Those migraines must be terrible.

I need to get my BlueSky set up.

  8. I am so sorry that your daughter is not feeling well. I hate fighting with insurance. I am glad that Lulu is such a good girl. I don’t think that my dogs would tolerate a visitor, especially one that is eating their food and sleeping in their bed. I hope that you have a great week!

  9. I love hearing your gardening update. I hope your daughter can get the treatment asap, and that it helps b/c 2 hour IVs stuff sucks! I’m trying to use Threads more because twitter is terrible and threads seems to have decent people .

  10. The high here today is only 66 and I’m in heaven. I wish my office had windows that opened – or that I could pull my desk outside. 🙂 Back into the 70’s the rest of the week but still so nice. How frustrating with the neurologist’s office. I hope you make some headway with them this week.

  11. Sounds like you’ve had a busy week with the dog sitting/walking! I’m so sorry to hear your daughter isn’t feeling better. I hope you are both able to get some answers soon. Dust Born is on my TBR. Have a great week!

  12. I hope your daughter is able to get some relief soon. It must be so frustrating for you both. And your poor daughter having to endure that pain for so long! I hope Max and Lulu are enjoying their visit together. You’ve reminded me I need to schedule the cat sitter to come while we’re away for my husband’s dad’s service next month. My mom usually checks on the cats for us, but she’s traveling with us. I hope you have a good week and happy reading!
