Going viral has never been so dangerous.
Nadiya loves her privacy: living alone and writing a popular series of crime novels under a pen name, she’s worked hard to build the quiet life she cherishes. But all that changes when her long-lost half-brother Chase comes to town, needing a place to stay until he can get back on his feet. Chase’s dream job is Nadiya’s worst nightmare: he’s an aspiring TikTok star, oversharing on the internet at every opportunity.
When a burglary occurs in the apartment upstairs, Chase decides to film and post all the action. Unbeknownst to him, this was not a random break-in, but a targeted operation run by dangerous criminals. Overnight, Chase’s videos go viral, garnering millions of views and amassing a huge following of loyal #Chasers. It’s everything he’s ever dreamt of, except the attention has brought the wrong kind of heat. Chase and Nadiya are plunged into a world of organized crime, and together, they must uncover the truth and clear their names before they become the next victims.
I was excited to listen to this shorter story which I thought was about a crime podcast. #CrimeTime is the tag of the crime podcast created by Nadiya’s half brother, Chase. Nadiya is a successful mystery writer and has been estranged from her father, who went to prison for his crimes. She has refused to see her father or speak to him but he did train her to take care and protect herself. Now she has recently located her younger half brother and is supporting him as he figures out what to do with his life.
I like Nadiya and her calm reasonable logic and handling of situations. I was definitely annoyed by Chase and his ridiculous ideas and posting which continued to get them in deeper trouble. It was nice to see them connect with their father who has been living quietly, and have his help in their bringing down the bad guys.
The question of how Nadiya’s mother died and things went down for her father to end up in prison all those years ago, also comes to light. Not everyone trusted is trustworthy. This was a fun and somewhat silly listen. For now, #CrimeTime is an audio only read.
Narration:
There was a full cast narration which added to the fun. I always appreciate the efforts and enjoy the results of so many performers. I was able to listen at my normal 1.5x speed.

I was offered this for review but I just didn’t have time. I’m glad it was entertaining and some light fun.
Thanks Tammy. It wasn’t realistic but mostly fun.
I could not get into this and it ended up being a DNF. I am glad you enjoyed aspects of it.
yes I can understand that. Chase was totally annoying and ridiculous.
Chase was certainly silly but I still enjoyed it. Glad you did, too, Anne💜
Thanks Jonetta. It’s not my usual thing exactly. I was interested in the podcast aspect but Chase was ridiculous.
Wow look at that list of narrators sometimes I have trouble with that many voices but sometimes I don’t 😉
glad you liked it
The full cast of narrators is another reason I chose to listen and that was fine. The bulk of time was with the main characters and narrators, so I liked that.
I’m glad to hear you liked it. You have to be careful about what you film sometimes, you might catch the wrong people’s attention.
The kid did that in a big way here.
Mhmmmm! This sounds like a good book for my cloak and dagger challenge i’m doing next year…love a good mystery
It’s relatively short, audio only.
It sounds like it had some solid points.
yes it isn’t what I would normally choose but it had the full cast and was about a crime podcaster. I expected it to be more serious.
Hmmm… Maybe I’ll give this one a try. Is it silly like Only Murders in the Building? I love that show.
I haven’t watched that show yet.
In a certain mood, I think I’d get a kick out of this one.
yes I think it does take a certain mood to enjoy it.
I have this audio as well. I listened to another book by this author and it was entertaining, but a bit in the unbelievable territory. I think she’s a little like Kiersten Modglin stories.
I have yet to read Modglin. I’ll be interested to hear what you think of this if you listen. It is on the shorter side.
Glad you enjoyed listening for the most part. I do like the cover. I’m such a sucker for fun covers.
It was fun but really silly in some places.
Full cast is fun!
yes I am always excited when I see an audio has full cast narration.
