The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  The Bayou Moon giveaway ends tonight!

Sunday,   I did some reading and blog visiting before the chat. The chat is always fun to get interesting perspectives.  We won’t finish watching Murdoch mysteries by the time our Acorn subscription ends this week. (The photo is the County commissioner, the neighbor and me)

Monday, when I let Lulu out, I got out all the plantings onto the patio table into the sun.  Then I watered everything.  I did the usual stuff and then I started to figure out how to download all my Kindle books.  I got the Javascript going.  My daughter went in on another computer to delete all the library books which reduced the number of pages I had to run the script. I spent a few hours on it which got through half leaving the rest for tomorrow. We walked Lulu in the middle of the work, and the weather was nice. After dinner, the plants had to go back in the greenhouse.

Tuesday, another day where I put out the plants on the patio table. I wrote a review. At least I can listen to audiobooks while running the script and also make phone calls. My Amazon order which was supposed to be delivered last week looks like it might be delivered today.  I ordered it 2 weeks ago! We walked Lulu and ran into the neighbor and Abbey.  I did some chores and went back to more downloading. I downloaded 6,093 books working about 4 hours yesterday and 3 hours today.  The total is just under 4GB, which I copied over to a flash drive.

Wednesday, I wanted to get going quickly this morning. I needed to get together everything for all my errands. So of course, the gas company came out and wanted to turn off the gas all day, well ok, but then they have to come in the house and relight all the pilot lights. No.  I’ll have to call them and sort it out tomorrow. I went 9 places.  Five were grocery type stores where I could only get certain items at one of them.  I dropped a couple of gardening books back at the library, had a doctor checkup, took Amazon returns to UPS. My daughter wanted to try the new Thin Mint Frosty which I didn’t like but she thought it was good. So apparently I didn’t do my Feedly or Wordle yesterday. Sigh.  I will have to do some more catchup on Feedly tomorrow.

Thursday,  OMG  after a couple months of having to manually refresh Feedly is working again in not leaving those marked as read on the screen!  I’m so happy to be home today but so many different things to do. I edited and scheduled some reviews. I created shells for a few new ARCs and wrote a review.  I walked Lulu and helped my daughter edit on her final paper for her current class. I got an email notifying me that I got a free audiobook from Libro.fm for participating in their Reading Challenge!  We went to bed very early since my daughter has an appt at the gastro specialist tomorrow morning. Lulu was not a fan; she wanted to nap on the couch and watch more tv.

Friday,  blah.  The post didn’t go as scheduled, my PRH audio app wouldn’t let me log in.  It was not a happy start.  But I got those sorted and still had time to do a couple things before we left for the appt. I got up earlier than usual so Lulu would have more time out of the crate. The weather is cooler but still sunny.  My daughter’s appt went well with some suggestions to help her gastro issues.  We came home and she took a nap.  I made calls and worked on a few things. When she got up we walked Lulu.  We FINALLY got the cord for her laptop which crashed January 22nd.  I only had to call 3 times on the warranty which she has had the computer less than a year.

Saturday, I took photos of the broccoli which was planted last September.  The lettuce came up also which I planted from seeds 2 weeks ago. These were under the greenhouse topper that I set up to be able to move around to various beds.  The spinach plants I transplanted are doing fine also.  No sign of the other seeds planted 2 weeks ago. I went down to my favorite garden center and got plants for carrots, beets and buttercrunch lettuce.  I won’t plant them until Monday because Sat/Sun nights will be around freezing.   I’ll water them and put them in the greenhouse.  I went to Harris Teeter to get my daughter’s Rx.  Then I went to walk Lulu. My daughter decided to go at the last minute.  We were out putting the plants away and Lulu was on the step- why aren’t you letting me inside? I’m an indoor dog. Unless we are going for a walk. My daughter finished a class today on Management and Leadership.  This week she starts Managerial Accounting.

February Reading:  I had another good reading month.  I managed to read 19 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.  I listened to 12 audiobooks, read 3 library books,  18 COYER reads,   and  7  books which I already own.

All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog)  2025 Library Love Challenge

I did manage to read  7 books I own (goal is 3 per month):

  • 🎧 Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews
  • Beauty and the Bayou by Erin Nicholas
  • Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas
  • The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan
  • The Suffragette Scandal by Courtney Milan
  • Talk Sweetly to Me by Courtney Milan
  • 🎧An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

A big thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca, Canelo Crime, Grand Central Publishing, Kensington Books,  Hachette Audio, Brilliance Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Wow, you get so much done in a week. I feel like by the time I get off at 4opm M-F, walk the dogs, make/eat something and work out (which I am trying to be better about) I get to read/watch TV for about 2 hours, then go to bed to start all over again. I love that Lulu wanted to stay up later and watch TV. She is such a sweetie. Usually by the time I head to bed around 10:30 on weekdays, Apollo is more than ready to go. I will try to remember to do a post next Sunday with at least doggy pics. Hope you and your daughter have a great week!

  2. Your garden is doing well! I put a few of my plants outside on the 80 degree day, but we’re back to it being cold and I can’t plant them outside until after March 29th, our last frost date. That Charlie Donlea looks good. I might download that one.

  3. Busy week! Glad you’re able to get the plants out for a bit, and the others are coming up! Lulu wanting to go inside reminds me of Dora sometimes when I take her out, she does her business, then goes to stand at the bottom of the steps to have me take her back in, lol. I’ve not been impressed with the flavored Frosty’s that Wendy has done so far, I was so excited for the orange one they did a while back and then wasn’t impressed. The Shamrock Shake is minty, but not a ton, which is good because I normally don’t like mint. Hope you have a good week!

  4. Your garden cuttings are doing good and fun that you got some time to get out there and work in the yard even if Lulu was not a fan. I was happy to get some fresh air and sunshine a couple times this week when we had some clear dry days. Whew, you had a busy errand and appt week, but hopefully your daughter’s health will go better as a result. Solid reading and listening numbers for the week.

    Have a good one, Anne!

  5. I haven’t had any gas appliances in more than 20 years. Most everything around here is electric. All the apartments that my friends and family live in are all electric too. Very busy.

  6. Nice job on your reading goals! I also find that randomly I cannot log into my PRH audio app, but it was working fine last week while I listened to Kills Well with Others.

I was in Dayton for CMCon at the beginning of last week and then I was home and busy with work. We got our new sectional delivered on Friday and I love it. I have to have a tech come out tomorrow to fix one small thing, but overall, it’s so great – we had our last one for 19 years.

  7. Two weeks is an unusually long time for Amazon. I do have something on order now that won’t be here until the 11th but I was told that from the start. Great job on your challenges. I hope March is just as successful for you.

  8. It seems like packages are taking longer to arrive in general. I ordered something from Amazon for Valentine’s Day and it kept getting delayed and ended up arriving after. It wasn’t a big deal, but it was still annoying. I thought maybe it was a weather delay at first, but the locations the tracking showed didn’t support that theory. I hope you finally got your package. It sounds like you had quite a week all around. I hope this week will be calmer for you!

It sounds like you had a good February in reading and have a lot of great books to look forward to. Harlan Coben writes a good thriller. Have a good week, Anne!

  9. I’m jealous of your productivity! We’re still getting a lot of freezing temps and snow, so we haven’t started our garden yet. The kids have been planning out what they want to plant this year, but it will be our first time trying a garden here.

  10. You had a busy week! I’m hoping last night was the last of the icky 20s. I think we’re looking at some low 30s then a warm up. I hope so. I want to hook my hoses back up. lol

  11. I’m so glad you were able to get your books downloaded. With everything going on, I didn’t get to mine. I plan to test out Epubor and see if that works now. I hope your daughter’s gastro issues clear up or at least subside a bit. And Lulu looks adorable but definitely pouty in that photo.

    Have a good week!

  12. Thanks for volunteering for Alison Riggs! I can’t even remember her opponent’s name but he’s an embarrassment to the state. You lost, dude. Move on. And the way the case keeps getting shuttled back and forth from court to court, like no one wants to touch it. Why can’t someone just stand up and say, no, we’re not throwing out 60,000 mostly Democratic votes just because you don’t like the election results. Ugh.

I don’t like to have too many days when I have a bunch of errands to run around town, but I do think it’s satisfying to cross them all off the list as I go.

    Happy reading!
