The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, the new printer is working fine but is much slower than the old one. I guess we usually only print a page or two so it doesn’t matter. I did the usual blog visiting. I spent some time planning out the menus and adding things to the grocery list to make those things. It seems like I need to go to 3-5 stores to get everything and it’s just a few items from each place. Some things aren’t available locally and I have to order them to be shipped to us.
Monday, I planned to run errands which ended up being more. My daughter said her ears hurt so we went to Urgent Care. We took Lulu because it was thunder, lightning and pouring rain. It stopped before I picked up a couple items at Aldis, and last to Harris Teeter for Rx. I got the Sudafed they suggested to help her drain her sinuses. We ate our late lunch, then went out to walk Lulu.
Tuesday, Lulu woke me about 2 hours before I usually get up. She apparently needed to go out. I got through some setups and reviews. I went out and mowed the lawn. We walked Lulu.
Wednesday, I did the usual stuff plus some chores. I put together an order at Sam’s Club to shop tomorrow. I setup a bunch of posts. We walked Lulu. Then we harvested snow peas, lettuce and beets.
Thursday, I have a big day planned. After doing a little computer stuff, I headed out on my errand run. I went to the post office to mail a prize, Wegmans, Trader Joes and then a Sam’s Club pickup. After lunch, we walked Lulu and then I put down the weed and feed. It started raining after dinner which was exactly as planned for the weed and feed. But it also was thundering. Lulu was scared so my daughter let her sleep with her.
Friday, today is Robin’s birthday. Happy birthday! I set up more posts and did some chores. I felt really tired and a bit of a headache this morning. I took some ibuprofen and it was better quickly. I edited my daughter’s short paper for the Ethics class she started this week for college. We walked Lulu and saw Clover and Maggie. Right before dinner, the neighbor brought over Abbey’s bed and food for this week. I went to bed early.
Saturday, I got up early as Abbey arrived before 8am. I let Lulu out and fed her right before and luckily she ate. Abbey has been having issues. I made her a scrambled egg over her “oatmeal” which is what I call the Honest Kitchen food Lulu eats and since last year Abbey does also. She and Lulu are now sleeping in the office with me. I wish I was sleeping. The weather has been so nice this week. A little rain but mostly at night and we need rain. My daughter came up to give Abbey her nausea medicine, then we all went for a walk. Then we all went to the office. I managed to get a review written. We went on the afternoon walk. I noticed the astilbe and hydrangea just starting blooming.
We’re supposed to get plenty of rain the next few days and then heat but things don’t always go to forecast.
Sunday is Melanie’s birthday and Monday is mine. It’s birthday week at Books of My Heart.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Many thanks to Berkley Romance, Tantor Audio,
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
These are my Amazon First Reads for May.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
Chirp freebies:
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Sweet Lulu💜 Have a Happy, Happy Birthday Anne🥳
Thank you Jonetta!
I picked up Homemaker from Amazon as well, fingers cross it is a fun one.
I’m excited as a long time fan of the author. I used to ride on RAGBRAI with her cousins (in Iowa)
Happy birthday and Happy Mother’s Day, Anne😁 My Dad’s birthday is tomorrow and we always celebrated the two holidays together. Love the flower photos, and the dogs are cute as always. Have a good week.
Thank you Tammy.
Nice timing on the weed and feed. I know its that extra step with folks who have the special diets to get all the ingredients and sometimes the stores aren’t that close- good on you for keeping at it. Hopefully, you’ll get better sleep soon.
Happy birthday, Robin and Melanie!
Happy Mother’s Day and happy early birthday, Anne!
Thanks so much Sophia. The sleep thing isn’t happening this week. But getting up earlier means I have more of the day to do things.
Happy Mother’s day Anne! I hope your daughter’s ears feel better!
Thank you Sophie. The Sudafed seems to have worked out well.
Happy Birthday tomorrow! Midnight Auto Parts sounds intriguing – have you read the other books in the series? Thanks for sharing, and hope you have a great week!
Thanks Becki. I have read the first 2 books before Midnight Auto Parts which I have also now read and will review next Saturday.
Sounds like a busy week! I had hoped to pick up some audio freebies this week but just didn’t have the time to look like I wanted. I also had a headache on Friday I think. Happy birthday to Robin on Friday! Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa. Chirp freebies aren’t usually just one day so you might be able to get some.
Happy mother’s day! My ear was killing me last week. My allergies always cause so much congestion. Sudafed is my lifeline this time of year! Have a great week!
Thank you Samantha. My daughter seems to have that same issue but not only in spring.
Happy Birthday! That cover of Innocence Road is very cool
Thank you Bonnie. The story sounds good too.
Happy Birthday Anne! I hope your daughter is feeling better now.
Thank you Jodie. The Sudafed seems to be clearing up the sinuses which includes the liquid that was in her ears.
Yours is the second blog in a row mentioning harvesting peas and lettuce!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday tomorrow!
Thank you Jinjer. I started out harvesting spinach to have in my eggs for breakfast.
p.s. I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day today!
Thank you! Mother’s Day and my birthday are always close, sometimes the same day.
Happy Birthday and Mother’s Day! Hope you have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne.
My astilbe is shooting up it’s bloom stalks right now. I’m happy I planted them because they come back year after year. Yours looks beautiful! My hydrangea has all the leaves back but we’re a while away from blooms. My roses are starting to bloom. Your peony is so pretty! I’m looking forward to the Laura Griffin and you reminded me I need to pick my first reads from Amazon. I always forget!
I was going to do my Sunday post yesterday, but was too tired and I’m happy I didn’t because we just found out a close friend died early this morning and I’m not in the mind space to return comments. He was about a year from his planned retirement. A year older than my husband and we’re so brokenhearted!
I’m so sorry Rachel. It’s so sad when it happens like that. My FIL died at 65 so didn’t get to retirement either.
Hope you had a great Mother’s Day. I like your book haul.
Have a great week.
Thank you Angela. It’s been a crazy week with an extra dog and thunderstorms
Happy birthday to Robin! I hope your daughter’s ears are feeling better. We are having crazy weather here right now and I’m not a fan. Have a great week and happy reading!
Thank you Katherine The Sudafed seems to have worked well for her ears. We have been having thunderstorms or threats of them daily and the dogs are not a fan.
Sounds like you had a full week. That’s too bad about the new printer being slower. I hope your daughter’s ear pain got resolved as that sounds painful. I like seeing all the pictures and hearing about your garden, maybe we’ll have a garden at our next house, this one only has a small balcony. That’s nice you got some audio freebies, they are usually so pricey so I am always happy if I can get those for cheap. I hope you have a good week!
Every week seems full. My daughter is not hurting but she’s still taking Sudafed as the symptoms have not cleared up. I love having the garden. It’s time for the warm season crops to be planted.
I just love how you all have your birthdays in one week. My dad, sister and I all are in one week, too. I’m behind in my blog visits – how is it already Friday? I guess with the kids home now, my time is spent in different ways.
Your pattern is bound to be different this summer – kids, weather etc. Some of us, not Sophia or KC.
Nice collection of freebies! The garden one looks like it will be a hoot.
Sometimes cozies can be fun.
