The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Sunday, I slowly got all the chores with changing sheets, and I even rotated my mattress. It’s been raining and looks to be rainy this week. I spent some time chatting with friends about the 2026 Read-along and visiting blogs. We walked Lulu between heavy rain but it was still raining lightly. She didn’t seem to care. I did a little knitting before dinner.
Monday, I worked on a bunch of usual things. I called the dentist to change the appt since of course it was the same time as the gastro specialist. It’s the only appt in December and they had to give us the same time. Of course. I texted the parties for the conference call tomorrow on annuities and long term care insurance. I got some new ARCs and set up their posts. My daughter started her homework late, so we walked Lulu late, ate dinner late and started listening to All Systems Red. I tried the Graphic Audio but am so enamored of Kevin Free I had to switch to it. We listened on my phone and then moved upstairs to finish listening on the computer. I knitted and finished the second sleeve. We did finish listening late.
Tuesday, I slept a bit late and went to work on various chores. I also found a Bluetooth speaker we own but haven’t used for a long time. That will allow us more options for where to listen to our Murderbot books. Well I’ve reviewed 800 books on Netgalley now. My daughter and I discussed and got a few Prime Day deals. The green peppers are almost ready.
Wednesday, I needed to get going, a busy day. My daughter had her annual checkup (everything is good) and then to physical therapy for her TMJ problem which is apparently related to her EDS. We stopped at Wegmans and Trader Joes on the way back. The neighbor brought over Marley’s food and a few items since she will be coming over tomorrow morning early.
Thursday, the neighbor brought Marley over at 8:30am to the back door which my daughter would be less likely to hear. I’d been awake awhile. I seem to be dreaming vividly and remembering them this week, and in the dreams I am always working, running, planning. No wonder I wake up tired sometimes. I gave both Marley and Lulu their food but nobody ate any food. I kept Lulu upstairs and Marley downstairs with the gate up. I went out and mowed the side yard and back yard. It was tricky because I hadn’t recharged one of the batteries. So I came inside in the middle and made some muffins. The dogs were so good. After I finished mowing I showered finally. I had gathered up all the bathroom rugs and washed them since the new cleaners are coming for the first time. I hired them just to do the 2 bathrooms, the half bath and my daughter’s. Wow it looks great but I don’t think they got the concept of recycle and just put everything into the garbage. We ate an early dinner and then walked Lulu and Marley. My daughter went to the bar for game night with the neighbor. There were some thunderstorms and Lulu was her thunder baby self. Neither dog wanted to eat their own food and that’s really unheard of for Lulu with her night food. She did finally eat it. Marley wouldn’t eat hers so finally I gave her a container of Lulu’s which she gobbled down.
Friday, the yard was damp from the overnight rain. I fed Marley and she ate her own food this morning. Lulu wasn’t interested in hers and when I wasn’t watching Marley ate it. I wrote a bunch of reviews. I set up a bunch of posts for the reviews to be filled in later. We walked Marley and Lulu right before dinner. Each dog ate their own dinner promptly. My daughter wanted some yarn to make a gift so we ordered it online to pick up tomorrow.
Saturday, in the never ending effort to feed the dogs, I have Marley in the office with me and Lulu in the hall with her food. No one showed interest in any food so we will see. I’m doing a bit of computer tasks before I switch things up and put Marley with her food again. I worked on the menu plan since we will be out and I could get a few items. I wrote a review. Success – Lulu ate her food in the hall. Marley still doesn’t seem interested in hers, so now to keep Lulu away from it. They’re playing now with Lulu’s toys. A bit later Marley ate some of her food. I took my daughter to get her yarn at Michaels and hair bands at CVS, and I got the propane tank filled at BJs and a few items at Aldi. We will walk the dogs before dinner. We watched the last 2 episodes of the first Murderbot season after dinner. The week ahead looks like more hot days around 90F / 32C with thunderstorms every afternoon.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
My grateful thanks to Recorded Books, Tantor Audio, Valentine PR, MIRA, Thomas & Mercer.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I picked my Amazon First Reads for July.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
Chirp Friday freebies:
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

Sweet Lulu…and friend💜
I did not know a new Keera Duggan was scheduled for release! Made my day. I need to catch up in the Porter Beck series. Enjoy your reading, Anne!
Thanks Jonetta. I try to find all the good ones.
800 books is amazing! I just ordered some new headphones for work – I struggled with bluetooth ones previously, so we’ll see! Your pictures of the doggos are always so cute 🙂
Thanks Becki. I’m glad Lulu has her friends over pretty often.
The dogs are so cute, but wow feeding them seems to be a lot of work. I remember when I used to waitress, I would have “waitress dreams” where I was waiting on tables all night, I woke up exhausted too! Hope the heat isn’t too bad this week.
yes Tammy, it’s like that. My mind busy all night with things I need to do or am doing. It just takes a strategy. Once I have it figured out it’s all good. Lulu and Marley are easy because they don’t bark and wake up my daughter. With all of them though, they want to be with me so it’s tough when I separate them. One with me, one on their own.
I’m so impressed with 800 listens and suddenly you listening at a faster speed makes sense:)). It’s a real challenge getting the dogs to eat. Thank you for the pics – those peppers look so fabulously healthy! And I LOVE that rainbow – so intense. Have a great week, Anne:).
Thank you Sarah. This morning was very successful. This time I took Lulu with me upstairs to the office and left Marley downstairs in the kitchen/family room. That way they both ate their own food. They are easy because they don’t bark. Abbey would have to be with me because otherwise she will bark. Lulu likes peppers 🙂
It’s funny how the dogs don’t want their food, they want the other’s! I have a Bluetooth speaker and that’s how I listen when I work my puzzles. I use my ear buds if I’m walking around a bunch, but I try to use the speaker instead if I can. I worry about wearing the earbuds all the time. Your peppers are coming fast! Mine have just gone past the flowering part. I got an audio of the new Allison Brennan novella. I didn’t even know it was coming, so a nice surprise! I have The Blue Horse and I’m starting it today. Love that series!
I loved The Blue Horse. I wear earbuds a lot. I requested the Brennan novella but they don’t usually like me. Lulu likes peppers. Also spinach, beets and carrots. She’s not big on lettuce or chard though.
Such a cute pic of Marley and Lulu. My dogs devour food so quick we had to get the slow feeders. You could lose a hand if you’re not careful! Hope the heat isn’t too terrible for you this week.
Thank you Samantha. The quick eater is normally Lulu at night when she gets her homemade food. But they are both curious about the others’ food. Lulu doesn’t like the “oatmeal” I do from Honest Kitchen for her breakfast. It’s going to be hot now until September I think but the days with less humidity are better. It’s a very humid summer though with thunder and rain for a short bit every afternoon. Last summer was very different. No rain at all between June and September.
How exciting! You got Atonement Sky. I was able to read that one and I loved it. I wasn’t excited for a Windhaven story but I ended up loving it. I hope you enjoy all of your new books.

Thank you Val. I just finished Atonement Sky earlier today. I loved it. I always like the Psy with the Changelings and the science sort of stuff.
You do have quite the time getting those two dogs to eat, but eat their own food. LOL Looks like you got quite a bit done between errands, blog work, and around the house. I finished my rat pet-sitting stint and spent time on a relatively dry and less humid day doing my weeding finally. I wasn’t that taken with the Murderbot Diaries on Graphic Audio, either, and prefer Kevin R Free’s rendering.
Great haul of reviews and freebies.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Sophia. Glad you were able to get out to weed with the weather less horrible. It’s just going to be hot until September I guess. This morning went well. I separated them and they ate their food. Marley and Lulu don’t bark so it’s easier by far.
It’s been a while since I visited and I love your new look!! 800 books on Netgalley is amazing!! I know a lot of people get their books from there but I haven’t actually checked it out myself. I’m quite curious now and I’ll go take a look at it later. I also love that you’re listening to the Murderbot series on Discord and with your daughter! I originally listened to them with Kevin Free too because they were free with Audible and I bought the dramatized versions to listen to later. Now the Kevin Free versions are no longer available, and I hope I don’t regret buying the dramatized versions instead of Kevin Free’s narrations!
800 books on NetGalley, that’s awesome.
I’m glad to hear your daughter’s annual checkup went well. The doggy pic is so cute.
I also seem to have the same luck with multiple appointments coming up at the same time. The chances of this happening are slim but in reality it happens frequently! Have a great week Anne.
What kind of muffins??? Those dogs are stressing me outttttttttttt, but they sure are cute together in their bed.
