The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar. Read-along chat is today!

Sunday,  I had a morning where I didn’t need to rush so I didn’t.  I got dishes and laundry going.  Last night, my daughter put the new Seresto collar on Lulu.  I had solved the rumbling sound in the fridge by replacing the water filter  but now it’s crushing ice again so I worked on that this morning. I can’t believe August is half gone.  I usually work on Blogging Ahead when I’m staying inside, setting up shells of posts for 2027 and also starting work on the Read-along.  I picked tomatoes again this morning and we have so many. I ate a BLT for lunch. I did my usual Sunday visiting.  My neighbor told me later she is getting a foster pup tomorrow, so that’s exciting.

Monday, I did the usual visiting and emails.  I did some post setups.  I worked on various tasks. At night we went to Dems on Tap. The guest speakers were in the election integrity group talking about what to do if things don’t seem right at the polls. They had guidelines, numbers to call and also information on becoming poll watchers or election officials.  I do a lot of poll greeting so I sometimes see things. There is a line where no poll greeters or candidates are supposed to cross and bother people going to vote or in line. Sometimes I have seen people ignoring that.

Tuesday,  another nice day at home.  It’s the night for watering which I need to do even if it looks like rain. My daughter went over to the neighbor’s to play games because she has the new lab puppy, Ada.

Wednesday,  I went over to the neighbor to get her coupon because I was going to pick her up some groceries since she can’t really leave Ada yet.  Ada is gorgeous but she likes to jump up and is full of energy.  My daughter had a doc appt and then we made the rounds to Aldi, Trader Joes and Wegmans.

Thursday, I went to get out the stitches from the dental surgery.  They looked and said they had dissolved (Or I swallowed them!) and it was healing well. And because 3 grocery stops yesterday wasn’t enough I stopped at Food Lion for 2 items they didn’t have at Walmart, and then picked up my curbside order. I finally got home to do some of the things I have run out of time all week.  But my daughter is finally not hurting when she eats and I had some cooking planned.  I tried out a new recipe from a Bread cookbook (GF).  I started with easy dinner rolls.  It was easy enough and they taste good but they are still sort of heavy and didn’t raise enough.  I think I know what might be the problem so we will see. I also was making a chicken and pasta casserole. I added fresh basil from the garden.  Then my daughter went back to the neighbor’s house to play games and I washed pots and pans and cleaned up the kitchen. My daughter finished all her homework for her class, and next week has fall break. It rained in the late afternoon too!

Friday,  finally a day at home. It’s cloudy which makes it feel a bit cooler. I am way behind on blog visiting with the last couple days of running around for appts and errands.  I have some reviews to write also. My daughter said it wasn’t too hot so we walked Lulu.  Then I had her hold some branches down while I cut them. Next I showed her how to empty the Dyson stick and she vacuumed the main floor.  I refilled the pet sanitizer sprays with the refill bottles.  Then I went on to lunch.   Since UBB doesn’t seem able to send reviews to Good reads I took that box off the screen where each post is set up.

Saturday, I woke up at 3 am and didn’t get back until 6:30 so then I slept til 9.  I did my visiting and some emails.  I am tired but have many many things to do.  Today and tomorrow are the best chances for lawn mowing because then it heats up again.  Today is more cloudy but tomorrow is lower humidity.  I think tomorrow is winning.  I also have some long books to read for the next couple weeks in ebook and I haven’t been reading well at night, which might mean day reading. My daughter edged the back yard.

I purchased these at Chirp for $6 for the bundle.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

The Two-Date Rule (Where There’s Smoke Book 1)

Nobody's Child (The Jeri Howard Series Book 5) Witness To Evil (The Jeri Howard Series Book 7) Water Signs: The Jeri Howard Mystery Series Book 12

Chirp Friday freebie:

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Glad you’ve made a good recovery from the dental surgery – mouths can be so painful if there’s an infection! And how lovely there’s a puppy next door, although labs are very full-on. It sounds as if your daughter is enjoying playing with her. Has Lulu met her yet? I hope you have a good week and it doesn’t get too hot.

  2. Sounds like a good week. Lots of trips to the grocery store, lol! I need a good trip to actually get things to take for lunch and breakfast now that I’m going to be back to work. I need to get a new toaster for my office at my new library, as I like to have English muffins for breakfast and I left my old one at my old job. But I can get one at Walmart for like $10, so it’s not a big deal. I still need to read that Shusterman series that you got the new book for? Hope you have a good week and to see you at the chat today!

  3. I’m glad your daughter is feeling better! Ada sounds like a handful, but so loveable, I’m sure. I am so impressed that you plan out your posts so far in advance. I think I’ve been blogging for more than 20 years, and I’m always just winging it! Hahaha

  4. Wow, that’s a lot of errands and activities for you. I only had two days of errands and stops and that tuckered me out. LOL, sorry to laugh about your disappearing stitches, but glad its all healed up. Our weather was all over the place this week from hot and muggy to mild and dry so I got quite a bit done inside most of the time, but finally some garden time to bring in some of the ripe veggies and do some serious weeding.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  5. Glad to hear your dental surgery is healing well! Nice that you got some rain, too. It was fun finally being able to participate in the chat today! I got those Sara Driscoll audios from Chirp, too. I need to make time to listen to them at some point.

  6. Wait… how is fall break in August?! Don’t rush away summer!! I just moved by daughter back to her college yesterday (Sunday). She will have break in mid-October. I will probably go down and visit her at least once before then.

I have this week off and with both the kids gone, I plan to do some cleaning and organizing. I also want to catch up on some blogging stuff I’ve let slide for the past couple weeks. I hope you have a good week ahead!

  7. AVR

I mowed last week and it was awful. Ugh. I wish I could have waited until yesterday or today. It was/is so nice out! With the rain we’ve been getting I may have to mow again this week. Temps are looking good, but possible showers each day? No, no, no. lol

  8. Aww about the foster puppy. Hopefully Lulu gets play dates. Glad you and your daughter are healing. Teeth are so complicated. I have to finish my implant surgery by the end of this year. Nice about the tomatoes! My friend gave me a tomato plant last month but I don’t have any tomatoes yet. Fingers crossed.
