Claire Connolly is a Sensitive, infected with magic when the Veil that divides humanity from the world beyond fell. Magic can easily consume and destroy a Sensitive, and if Claire's secret is discovered, she'll be locked into the walled district of Devil's Isle along with every other Paranormal left in the city.
Bounty hunter Liam Quinn discovered Claire's secret but refused to turn her in. Together they saved New Orleans from the resurgence of magic that nearly destroyed it. But now a dangerous cult is on the rise, and it will take both Claire and Liam-and magical allies within Devil's Isle's towering walls-to defeat the occult threat before magic corrupts them both.
I am new to the Chloe Neil party. Some Girls Bite of the Chicagoland Vampire series was one of my first ever audiobooks when I moved halfway across the country last year. Needless to say, I was hooked and now she is a favorite author. I moved on to the Devil’s Isle series on audio as well. As urban fantasy, the books should definitely be read in order.
Amy Landon is a comfortable narrator to understand and very enjoyable. She lets the characters come alive in the voices and brings their emotions to the story. I like her voice in my mind for Claire; it has a southern feel even though there is not really an accent. Landon does accents where appropriate.
Claire and Liam captured me in The Veil (reviewed by Jennifer here). Their friends and family, Gunnar, Tadji, Gavin, Eleanor, Malachi, Burke, and Moses all add layers. Their personal growth, in this crazy after-war world, is suddenly pushed by necessity for survival and social pressures for change. Claire learns more than she wants and yet not enough about her past and family, and herself.
There is just so much more I want to know. As with any book or series I come to love, The Sight has multi-faceted characters and brings out my emotions. Claire did do a few things which felt reckless and worrisome. I care about them and their world. That’s the best it gets; it’s everything.

I love Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire series. I’ve been a fan since the series began. It’s hard to think that my favorite series will be ending soon. But at least I’ve got this new series to catch up on and enjoy.
never read the series
I love her Chicagoland Vampire series and have all the books (I might be one behind, lol). I’ve just started reading this series and so far I like it!
I have almost all of the Chicagoland Vampire series, but I have yet to read them. I am hoping to start on the new series, since it is shorter. 😉
Not read them but her series are in my TBR listings.
I have read all of Chloe Neill’s books and love them all! Chicagoland Vampires are my favs (❤️ Methan), but I have become very fond of Claire and Liam’s stories, too!
I haven’t read any yet! I’ve heard good things though.
I’ve read all of Chloe’s Chicagoland Vampire series and I love her books. Looking forward to more books in her Devil’s Isle series.
