I saw someone else was reading this, went and read the blurb, and decided I had to read it. I went to see where I could get it and since I had Kindle Unlimited I was able to get it there. I enjoy a science fiction story with diseases and a mystery. There is even some space opera here.
The world – building is broad and there is so much happening, it continues throughout the story. The main character Dr. Gillian Ryan is pretty well defined but many others are sort of a blur. I felt for her and rooted for her. She did make a few interesting choices. She’s smart and capable but not a perfect person. She is trying to do the right things where others are only thinking about themselves. There’s more than one “bad” guy.
The fast pace and mysterious nature of the journey made for quick, pleasurable reading. It is rather futuristic or at least a very different world in some ways. Some issues like pollution, funding for research and politics are similar. There were some real twists and action. Obscura is a good read.
I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.

This does sound interesting. I am pretty sure that I have several of Joe Hart’s books on my Kindle waiting for some attention. I do like the futuristic sound of this book. Glad you enjoyed it!
It is fascinating and heart-pounding suspense. The only reason it didn’t rate higher is it didn’t have a romance or as much in the way of family or friend connections as I might prefer I guess or not much humor. I’m not sure. It’s certainly worth reading.
