I also grabbed the two novellas in the Will Trent series,  from the library.  I was lucky they were available immediately.  These were short cases with Will being the primary character.  He had minimal contact with Amanda, Faith and Sara.  They were narrated by Kathleen Early, though. Other than minor details, they could fit in anywhere in the series. I like the additional perspective they give me about Will.

While in an airport restroom in Atlanta, Will Trent, an agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, overhears a girl pleading to go home and knows something is wrong. But he waits too long to act, and now the girl and the angry man she's with have disappeared into the crowds at the busiest passenger airport in the world. After a desperate search, Will calls his supervisor, Amanda Wagner. Will's partner, Faith, immediately sends out an abducted child alert. The entire airport soon grinds to a halt all because Will has a hunch he is certain is true: a young girl has been snatched. And he intends to bring her back.

Snatched was a heart breaker with a child abduction. The application of procedures and intuition was smart; it showed so many of Will’s strengths. The villain was sick and smug. I felt for the little girl and so did Will.

Narration:

The only point of view here is Will.  Kathleen Early IS the narrator for the series and I enjoy her performance. I felt comfortable with all the voices and listened at my usual 1.5x speed.

Detective Will Trent is standing in a Georgia convenience store, waiting on an obstinate ICEE frozen-drink machine. To the surveillance cameras and bored staff of the Lil' Dixie Gas-n-Go, however, Will appears to besome one very different - the menacing ex-con Bill Black. Going undercover as Bill, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent is about to infiltrate the most corrupt town in the most corrupt county in the new American South. But first: his ICEE.

I love everything in the series, but Busted slightly less. The novella is an extremely short time investment though, so I wouldn’t miss it. I just didn’t really like any of the characters other than Will.
