This is a new feature I developed where each month we will look at our favorite – the best – series in a genre.
The genre here, by my definition, is a series where the main character has a career in sports. These are the ones which came to mind or which I enjoyed. I haven’t read all of these series. KC has a broad knowledge of this genre and made several recommendations.
Since I haven’t read everything, it’s a subset of the possibilities. I’m sure I am forgetting some great authors. There are also plenty of authors I have yet to read. Please share your favorites with me in the comments, also.
My favorite Sports Romances series are (in no particular order):
Game On Pucked Off Campus , Briar U
by Kristen Callihan by Helena Hunting by Elle Kennedy
Gridiron Hoops Brooklyn Bruisers, Ivy Years, Gravity
by Jen Frederick by Kennedy Ryan by Sarina Bowen
What are your favorite series?
Vote for your top 3 favorites! You can vote for my favorites or add favorites of your own. Please tell us your top three (or top 1 or 2) in your comments. Remember this vote is how the winning option is chosen for the giveaway.
Then enter the giveaway below. The winner will get the first book in the winning series! Open to anyone who can receive an Amazon digital ebook.

I haven’t read many sports romances, mainly because I’m not a huge sports fan. But I’ve had Pucked on my TBR for the longest time. I probably need to push it up the list, since it made your list of favorites.
Hockey seems to be a key in sports romance. I’m a bigger fan of some low visibility sports, not pro sports. But there are interesting business issues in pro sports stories.
You know, I think the only sports romance series I’ve read is Chicago Stars by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and loved it. But, I’ve collected a few series and not yet started them (Chinooks Hockey Team by Rachel Gibson, Play by Play by Jaci Burton, Assassins by Toni Aleo, Fast Track by Erin McCarthy, etc.).
OH!!! I love Fast Track by Erin McCarthy. That’s the NASCAR one isn’t it? I didn’t consider that sports but it is. There are lots of great options in this sub genre but I don’t read too many of them.
Sarina Bowen’s series is one my favorites. Her characters are all likable and down to earth. Books have humor and great friendships as well as love relationships in a variety.
I’ve enjoyed all the Sarina Bowen books I have read. Most were not sports romances.
I’ve got a few for this one: Him/Wags by Sarina Bowen (m/m hockey), Sweet Home by Tillie Cole (NA- football), Brooklyn Bruisers by Sarina Bowen (hockey), Chicago Rebels by Kate Meader (hockey), The Lone Stars by Katie Graykowski (football), Twin Hearts by AM Johnson (NA m/m swimming), Game On by Kristen Callihan (football), Cold Fury Hockey by Sawyer Bennett, Shattered Past by Cecy Robson (MMA), First to Fight by Jeannette Murray (boxing), Worth the Fight by Michele Mannon (MMA), In the Zone by Kate Willoughby (hockey), The Boys of Summer by Katie Rose (baseball), Red Hot Russians by Elizabeth Harmon (ice skating), Battered Hearts by Kele Moon (MMA), Fast Track by Erin McCarthy (auto racing), Men of the Show by Rhonda Shaw (baseball), London Legends by Kat Latham (rugby), Play by Play by Jaci Burton (variety of sports), and its not from a series but I loved Ride With Me by Ruthie Knox (cycling).
I’ve actually got a few others that I’m pretty sure will be good on my TBR pile. This post reminds me that I need to get to those.
I loved Fast Track! Ride with Me is also a favorite. I actually wanted to do that ride and I did parts of it.
There still seems to be an abundance of hockey and football books. Thanks so much for sharing so many options. I do this for fun and to highlight some great books/ authors.
I loved the Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy… Or I loved the first 3! I’ve yet to read the final one but will get to it eventually, I’m sure! 🙂
I loved those too! I’ve read them all plus at least one in the other series. I’ve read the most books in that series of all of these.
I loved the Him/Us series by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, and the other hockey books by Bowen are fantastic. Sawyer Bennett writes a good hockey romance. Victoria Denault has some great hockey romances. It seems like there are a lot more hockey romances than any other sport for some reason.
Exactly! When I went to think about it, initially all I could think of was hockey ones.
I love a good sports romance! Sarina Bowen/Elle Kennedy’s Him duet is my absolute favorite. (Let’s hear it for hockey hotties!) But I also love Kennedy Ryan’s Hoops series (Long Shot was especially excellent), Cora Carmack’s Rusk University series, and what I’m read of Elle’s Off Campus series.
Those are some great ones. I’ll have to try the ones I haven’t read yet.
I voted Off Campus because I did love that series. I also loved the Him/Us series by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen. I read a menage football series back many years ago, but now I can’t recall who wrote it. Stephanie Julian writes a lot of great hockey books. Nalini Singh writes books with cricket players (but not a sports series).
I loved the Off Campus series. You can vote for up to 3! 🙂
