This is a new feature I developed where each month we will look at our favorite – the best – series in a genre or topic.
The topic here, by my definition, is a series with the setting of Alaska. These are the ones which came to mind. I enjoyed some more than others. The team had to help me find some of these.
Since I haven’t read everything, it’s a subset of the possibilities. I’m sure I am forgetting some great authors. There are also plenty of authors I have yet to read. Please share your favorites with me in the comments, also.
My favorite Alaska series are (in no particular order):
Kate Shugak Jessie Arnold / Alex Jensen Alaska Wild Mysteries
by Dana Stabenow by Sue Henry by Paige Shelton
Last Frontier Lodge Wild River Sweet Home, Alaska
by JH Croix by Jennifer Snow by Patience Griffin

I love books set in Alaska, too. I’ve got the Dana Stabanow books on my TBR and look forward to that series.
I love that Kate series because Mutt and also in the Sue Henry series, there are lots of dogs. She writes Liam Campbell which is also Alaska but I haven’t read it yet. The Kate series is narrated by Marguerite Gavin and is superb.
I voted for One Snowy Night since I haven’t read any of the other books. I’m sure I’ve read other books set in Alaska, but I’m blanking on them now, lol.
I know there are others. I just remembered literally right now that Brenda Novak’s Hanover House books are set there. I also considered the Sarah Morgenthaler ones.
I’ve got One Snowy Night to listen to and am looking forward to it. I’ve also collected another series, Moose Springs, Alaska by Sarah Morgenthaler that I’m looking forward to.
I enjoyed One Snowy Night but not the second one, for some reason. I hope you enjoy them both.
I haven’t read any of those series. I have noticed more and more books set in Alaska. I recent read the Moose Springs, Alaska series – a contemporary romance.
yes I read that one and it was just ok for me. But thanks for sharing. Lots of people are reading it also.
Paige Shelton’s is my current favorite. My brother lived in Anchorage and the outskirts for years and it really brought back memories.
I really liked that but in general I’m a fan of the mystery ones as they are more complex overall. But the romances seem to do a really good job with the scenery / wildlife, etc that is so beautiful in Alaska.
I do enjoy books set in Alaska. I really had a great time with the Evelyn Talbot series by Brenda Novak. Although, I still need to read the most recent book in the series.
I read all of those and forgot about them until after posting.
I’ve not read any of these yet, but a couple I really enjoyed that are set in Alaska are Kristin Hannah’s The Great Alone and K.A. Tucker’s The Simple Wild.
I’ve liked those authors. It looks like the KA Tucker one would fit but the Hannah one doesn’t seem to be a series. But it’s good to know they are enjoyable books.
