The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.
Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.
Sunday, I still slept later to try to recover from the last couple late nights, even though I went to sleep at a closer to normal time last night. The rain has been diverted until tonight. It is warmer and almost windless, so a good day to walk since it is now supposed to rain tomorrow. I talked to my brother to plan when we might visit Mom in the nursing home.
Monday, I continue with filling the dishwasher, hand washing stuff and unpacking stuff and disinfecting it. I didn’t have my review book finished so I ended up reading after an early supper to finish. My daughter told me she was almost out of some stuff she needed so we need to go pick it up tomorrow. It works out ok because I want to make one more stop at Aldi’s and then stay home the rest of the week.
Tuesday, I did a bunch of my computer tasks but still behind. I went down the rabbit hole for a couple hours on research for if we go to my brother’s and to visit Mom. Then my daughter got up and we ran the errands. I put all the stuff away and then back to do a few things before dinner and she wants the homework help with typing again. I really have SO much to do I’m not excited about it tonight. Between kitchen stuff and some other things with a deadline, I’m feeling pressed. And I didn’t get to walk with Lulu. The contractor is back in town and we had a chat.
Wednesday, I was so tired it was hard to get going. But the contractor came over and did half the things on the punch list, quickly, today. The shelf is painted in the pantry so I can start on that later today for the shelves other than the top one which I’ll give another day to dry. We noticed something like a water stain above the fireplace. There is nothing above that area, no room, no attic. It was just painted less than a week ago. So I called the roofer and he is going to take a look at it next Monday. He was really nice about it. I felt badly calling him right before Thanksgiving, but I did tell him anytime next week is fine. I FINALLY caught up with Feedly which I’ve been behind all week. After Lulu’s walk, I finished my book for tomorrow’s review and got the post set up. I unloaded the dishwasher and unpacked more boxes, reloaded the dishwasher and started it up again. I scrubbed out the shelves other than the top one. I washed some items by hand. Then it was time to get going on dinner.
Thursday, I slept a bit late. I got to work on things and felt good. My brother called Facetime with my Mom and nephew when they were having Thanksgiving about 1pm. We chatted a bit and planned for a short trip to Florida with my daughter. Lulu and I took a nice walk with the weather a bit warmer. Then I did more unpacking. I finished another audiobook doing that and cooking cranberry cake and chicken pot pie. While they baked we watched Hell’s Kitchen on the couch with Lulu between us and she was very happy about it. I started looking at the Audible deals.
Friday, was a pretty good day. I read in the morning. Then I did some computer work. Lulu & I took our walk. I helped my daughter with 2 knitting projects and unpacked a lot more boxes. I got some special storage trays for the lazy susan and I love them. I reviewed hotels which might work if we go to Tampa and called them about their pet policies because Tripadvisor has been wrong about whether or not they are pet friendly and often they have an additional charge for pets and I want to know what it is. I finished up my Audible purchases.
Saturday, I was slow to get going but felt I had so much to do. I watched the Zoom with Gordon & Ilona Andrews and ModR which was very fun. I did some unpacking and laundry. I looked at the sale items at Chirp. I made a homemade pizza for dinner. My daughter helped and she also helped sanitize some unpacked items for the pantry.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Thanks so very much to St. Martin’s Press, Elizabeth Hunter, Macmillan Audio via Netgalley, and Brilliance Audio.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
I always preorder Ilona Andrews. Except this one from before I knew about them. Then I picked my Prime “free” First Read. I’ve read this author in another series I like.
I narrowed down my selections from Audible in their Black Friday sale.
I found a few deals at Chirp for $1.99, $2.99 and $4.99.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

I hope your punch list gets finished up quickly! My daughter is cooking her first turkey today for her Friendsgiving celebration, so I expect she’ll be calling me with questions, lol. Have a great week, Anne!
The punch list is really pretty small so I don’t think it will be a problem. Thank you Tammy! I hope they have a lovely celebration.
I love Facetime. I remember when I was pregnant with my son. I got on the Facetime with my brothers and broke them the news, showing them a pregnancy test. My brothers were like “Oh, what’s going on here now?”
I’m not used to Facetime although my brother uses it a lot. I keep wanting to put the phone to my ear.
Looks like you hit the jackpot on books!! 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!
Stormi
I definitely found some great sale books!
Wow, that sounded like you had a busy week. Hope the paint can be fixed properly.
Yes it was a very busy week. Too busy so it was exhausting. I need to do a better job of prioritizing. Not everything has to be done TODAY.
Looks like it was a busy week! I’ll probably be staying home more now because everyone is out shopping, and I like when I can just meander down aisles and look at a more leisurely pace. I hate all the rush rush rush of Christmas shopping time. What do you mean by catching up on Feedly? Do you get comments on that as well or something? Or just reading through posts you’ve subscribed to? Hope you have a good week!
Yes too busy. Feedly is a reader so it is just posts for which I have subscribed. I get emails for all the comments on my blog and I don’t delete those emails until I have responded. Thank you Lisa!
You are a busy bee, Anne. Glad you could use the weather for a nice walk with Lulu. Her picture is so cute, love it! Hope you could enjoy the weekend. Happy reading.
Thanks Vi! It was a good weekend and pretty nice. I just wanted to get more accomplished as usual.
What a great round of freebies you grabbed! There were a few I’d like to grab myself. Have a great week!
I get emails from at least 6 sources every day with deals and I post them on my Twitter and Facebook accounts daily.
I am looking forward to The Bodyguard, which I have from NetGalley, along with The Last House on the Street.
Enjoy your week and your books!
I’m excited for both of them I have Last House on the Street in audio and its setting is NC where I live. I am debating because I might like The Bodyguard on audio also. I’ve listened to all the rest of her books on audio.
Sounds like a busy stressful week. Hopeful this coming week will be better. Take it easy and enjoy your book haul.
Thank you Angela! It was busy and stressful but a bunch of things got finished / decided which is really nice.
I Read a Witch for Mr Holiday as part of the HOHOHO RAT it was pretty good, very cute. Hope you enjoy, have a great week!
I didn’t get to that one, maybe next year. But I’m glad to hear it’s a good one.
I was hoping you weren’t getting so tired because you were fighting something so glad that was not so. 🙂 Looks like you got quite a bit done and on your research for the trip. that will be so nice if you can go. Nice haul and love seeing the Sebastian St. Cyr books.
Have a good week, Anne!
yes I’m just realizing that even though I was crazy busy I got a lot finished so things should be easier going forward. Thank you Sophia. I just wanted to get everything back in places very quickly but it’s taking more time than that. I do have all the boxes from the storage to the kitchen now and I’m emptying them as fast as I can but there’s a lot to hand wash or put in the dishwasher even if I know where I want it to go.
I love planning for trips! Miami sounds like fun. Hope your roof is okay. Chicken pot pie sounds delicious, and now I want some.
I just requested The Bodyguard. I love Katherine Center.
Thanks Rachel. I love planning trips but not under quite so much rush. It’s Tampa though. Chicken pot pie is my daughter’s favorite. I have enjoyed Katherine Center but everything I have read previously of hers was on audio.
It sounds like you’ve been very busy! Hopefully this coming week you’ll be able to relax a little bit more. Have a great week and enjoy lots of reading.
I did get a lot accomplished last week and I’m trying to reign in the rest this week. Every week I think – oh I got so much done so next week should be more relaxed. Well not yet. Thanks Stephanie.
Travel planning is always fun. Hope it goes well.
I do enjoy the planning and figuring things out. It does make our trips smoother to have figured out the options in advance. We are still spontaneous about some things. But we don’t waste time like with things that are closed on certain days or something. There are also some things less expensive with advance tickets or if you know where to buy them.
Oh a quick trip to Tampa sounds nice this time of year!! Hopefully things slow down for you and you are able to get in more enjoyable tasks.
Thank you Samantha. It looks like really nice weather, in the 70s which is 10-20 degrees warmer than here. But we would go to see family.
It’s been snowy here all weekend- definitely feels like holiday time! You have some cool looking freebies this week. Hope you had a nice weekend and that your week is a good one.
Happy reading!
Thank you Greg. It is hard to feel like the Christmas holidays here when the weather is so nice. Sometimes it does snow here in December or January or February but only for a day or two. (Not like MN where I lived before)
Sweet and the Bodyguard look like to cute romances. I will have to check them out on Goodreads.
I don’t think I have any holiday reads this year. So I am going to need to check out some of those freebies.
I’m very excited about the books I have to read and review. I really get the best (for me) stuff.
I know you’ll be glad when all that unpacking and putting away is over and done with!
Mmm cranberry cake and chicken pot pie!!!!!
yes, I finally got all the boxes from where I storied them to the kitchen now. It’s taking awhile to figure out where I want stuff now and also to get them hand washed or through the dishwasher. I’m doing a bit every day.
The food was very yummy!
So much unpacking and cleaning! I’d be tempted to just stick the boxes in the pantry til I needed something in them.
I hope the water issue turns out to be minor.
You’ve picked up some great reads.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae! Well the roofer came to check and the roof is fine. I’m doing just a bit every day now so it’s getting much closer now.
Lulu💜💜💜
Wow, what a book haul! Loved seeing those books in the Sebastian St. Cyr series. Nice that they were on sale. I like your freebie mix, too.
Have a great week, Anne💜
Lulu loves blankets! Yes I had a couple credits to use up and then sales at Audible and Chirp.
Thank you Jonetta!
Wow, what a busy week! I hope this week is a little more relaxing for you. 🙂
Not yet. But I keep thinking if I finish unpacking and stuff then I will have a relaxing week. It always seems to be the “next” week. But I realized today I really have finished up a lot of things in this past week.
You had a busy week! Glad Thanksgiving was nice!
Yes I was very happy to finish some things.
I totally took advantage of the days off and relaxed. But now I’m suffering with lots to do. I got a lot done on Monday, including the Christmas Tree, but still have lots to do. I also finished most of my shopping, which is a first for me. I did forget to shop the audible sale, tho.
How many books are in the Kinsman series? I’ve not started it yet – is it available in audio?
I hope you have a productive week ahead and find some time to rest up!
lol I keep thinking I’ll just get this stuff done this week and “next” week I’ll take some time to relax. But it’s good I’m getting some things finished. I think the Audible sale goes through tonight with Cyber Monday and all. But there’s only 1.5 hours left and you may have gone to bed already. There are 3 in the Kinsmen series. The first two are 100 pages or less, and only the third is on audio. The audio was great.
Aw, look at Lulu all bundled up. It’s that time of year! Getting colder again, especially around here. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
Lulu loves her blankets. She loves them when it’s 95 and she’ll sit in the sun always.
So late in visiting Sunday posts this week… *sigh* That’s odd about the stain above the fireplace, especially considering there’s nothing above it. Hope your roofer can determine the issue. The storage trays for the lazy susan sound interesting. I’m a sucker for storage and organizational items. 🙂 I hope your trip planning goes well.
Thank you Tanya! I’ve been having more trouble this week getting to all I want to do. The roof is solid; the only possible is an exhaust vent or something in the walls but I doubt there’s any pipes there. Here in the south they almost all run under the house in the crawl space. I LOVE the susan organizers I’ll try to take a photo of them for next Sunday.
Hopefully you are able to get all the things you want to get done, done. Lulu is adorable.
Thank you Mary. We are biased but Lulu is the most adorable.
Sounds like you got a whole lot done lately!! Hope the roof thing ended up being okay.
Thanks Nicole! I finally hit the wall and slept 11 hours last night. The roof had no issues.
