The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, I wanted to get up earlier than I did.  I visited Feedly and a few computer tasks.  Then I went out to help put the rest of the foam “noodles” into the gutters. I cut low branches from trees.  I tried to use the edger on the back patio but I’m still not good with it.  I put topsoil in holes the Google install guy made with his ditch witch.  Then put seed starter and seed food.  I divided iris for my ex to take for his yard.  I put a bunch of return items into the back of my car. I helped him carry everything to his car.

Monday, today was a bit more humid and it was a run around day.  I had my labs for my annual checkup, found beets, green beans, peaches and strawberries at the Farmer’s Market, did returns at Lowes and BJs,  went to 2 Dollar Trees to find a gold frame my daughter wanted, picked up some stamps at the post office (since forever stamps are going up early in July), got the grill tank refilled at BJs, and got groceries at Aldi.   The returns were so fast and easy! I was the first person in line.  Our next box of Factor meals came and I had to figure out where to put them. It is my daughter’s birthday today.  She is having such a rough time but she actually had a few HOURS this last week without the migraine. It’s been at a lower level of pain like 1-3 out of 10 but still pretty consistent pain. Our neighbor told us she would be working from home the next few weeks so we won’t be walking Abby. Lulu and I saw them in the late afternoon.   I made a new recipe Swiss Chard Lasagna.  We agreed it needed twice as much chard and we probably like the spinach version better.  I  also had gluten free cheesecake which they only have available about once a year at Aldis.

Tuesday,  I’m happy to have a day at home but I have catchup after all the projects the last few weeks.  I have visiting and Sunday visiting, and reviews to write. I called Costco about picking up the old mattress and they are coming Thursday.  Then I started analyzing my options for home insurance.  It’s so humid I just don’t want to go outside.

Wednesday, today will be hotter and still humid but it oddly wasn’t bad this morning. Marley came over to visit while I was hauling up the recycle bins.   I made quick work of visiting so I could write some reviews before my daughter got up. It was humid but not too bad so I walked Lulu.  My daughter had her PT and while she was there I went to a nail salon across the street and got a pedicure.  They were fine and I hadn’t had one for 4-5 years.  Our regular guy trimmed my tall bushes and they look great.

Thursday, I was up a bit earlier since the Costco pickup of the mattress window was in the morning. Of course, they came at the end of the window, but at least it is finally finished.  I fiddled around with the banner for the 2025 Read-along while I was waiting for them. I wrote and edited a couple reviews.  Next, it’s on to the Feedly. Then I needed to go to Harris Teeter to pick up some RX for my daughter.  My daughter’s new computer came and instead of having 1TB SSD it had a 256GB SSD. She figured that out when she was restoring the backup from her old computer and it stopped because the drive was totally full.  It was hard to find out how to message the company thru Amazon and it looked like the only option was to do a return.  We did and found a different computer to purchase.  I finally got a message thru to the seller and they offered us a $200 credit to keep it, but I know a few years ago a 1TB drive was $309 to install and it’s probably more now.  So that’s a return to pack up.

Friday, I got to work figuring out some things. I looked at all the home insurance options and talked to an agent.  It’s cheaper with combining home and auto, so I’ll do that.  The one I will get went up $158 since May 20!  It’s still the cheapest though.  I helped my daughter with her next month’s injection for migraine prevention.  I made a list of questions for my doctor for my annual checkup Monday. I made a cobbler with fresh strawberries and peaches.  I walked Lulu after dinner while the cobbler was baking.

Saturday, I didn’t get up too quickly.  I did the usual chores and computer type things.  I walked Lulu and although it is warmer and the wind is turning from north to south, it felt ok.  Then we dropped off a couple of returns, on the way to my daughter’s MRI.  She freaked out at the last one, so this one was open and she got IV sedation.  She was pretty wound up but got through it.  Afterwards, she had a late lunch and a nap before dinner.  I finally finished up last week’s Sunday visiting, which gives you an idea of how full this week was. I have yard work I need to do and menu planning but that planning will have to be tomorrow.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My sincere thanks to St. Martin’s Press,  Penguin Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I picked my Amazon First Read for June.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. MRI’s are awful. I am so glad she had an easier time. Wyatt’s doctor will not less us even lightly sedate him for his and my husband has to ride in to the machine with him and hold him down! (My son is 9 and has developmental delays) I am glad she is having less migraines. That is so debilitating.

  2. I hate that your daughter just can’t seem to completely catch a break from all her health issues! I’m glad you’re able to be there for her though and that she doesn’t have to deal with it on her own. Sounds like you got a lot done. I’m so frustrated with the cost of car insurance these days too. I’ve had no accidents in years, and my car is in good shape, but it feels like every 6 months they raise the cost an extra $10 a month. Guess that’s the way of the world though. Have a good week, I had to go grab one of the freebies you shared here too!

  3. Home insurance rates are skyrocketing in FL and many companies will not even offer coverage in FL. My sister who lives at the beach has an even harder time. I have an MRI scheduled this week and am *not* looking forward to it. I even went to the office on Friday to check it out and decide if I thought I could handle it. I guess we shall see!

  4. MRI’s can be tough. I hope your daughter can get help for those migraines. Unrelenting pain like that… yikes.

    Be well this week.

  5. I’m sorry to hear your daughter is still in pain! I’m happy she was able to get sedation for her MRI so she could tolerate it. Hopefully, the results will aid in her treatment. Our home owners insurance just about doubled from $2,400 to $3,900 but we were happy not to be cancelled altogether since insurance options have been extremely limited here in Northern California. We don’t want to have to insure through the California “Fair” plan. They’re expensive and not so “fair”. As natural disasters increase thanks to global warming, so does the cost. It’s been hot here, too, but it cooled down and we don’t have the humidity so much here.

  6. That continual pain must be a nightmare – I’m so very sorry for both of you:((. There’s nothing worse than watching your child suffer and being unable to do anything about it. How very annoying about the computer! I hope the replacement is more suitable. I hope this week is being kinder to you, Anne.

  7. My head has been pulled apart and is finally settling back into place. This past week was SO busy and CRAZY! Between my daughter’s HS graduation, having my entire family in town, and finalizing details for the annual graduation overnight (Chem Free, I was chairperson), I don’t know that I could make another decision. At one point, my sister asked me about what pizza to order and I looked at her and couldn’t speak. I seriously couldn’t function with the idea of having to make one more decision. But it all worked out and was a wonderful time. Now it’s Tuesday and I’m heading off to work.

  8. I’m so sorry you and your daughter are struggling with the computer issues. It’s so hard for things to be sent as they are supposed to and as far as the mattress pickup, isn’t it a rule that places that give you time windows always show up at the end of the window? At least, that’s been my experience with almost everything.

I finished the last WTZ book over the weekend and I’m so bummed. I think I could read another 6 books in that series. It was a good one for sure and I loved the alligators! Hope you and your family have a wonderful week!

  9. I’m glad to hear they were able to make some accomodations for the MRI. I’ve only had one full MRI and I discovered that I am not claustrophobic but I can’t imagine how awful it would be if you had claustrophobia or anxiety. I hope she is feeling better. I’ve thought about trying Factor but haven’t done it yet. We get Hello Fresh and I like it but there are some days where I’d like something easier. I hope you’re having a great week!

  10. I really gotta catch up on the Lady Sherlock series! I stopped on Book 5, and I can’t believe Book 8 is coming out already! Sorry to hear you’ve been having a hectic time. I completely relate because I’m two weeks late on visiting blogs, so who am I to judge?! 😅 I hope things calm down for both of us these next weeks!

  11. I hope your daughter has a better week this week. Happy belated birthday to her! I am sorry you had to return the computer. That’s such a pain. Hopefully the new one is just what you need. We have combo house and car insurance. California is such a mess when it comes to insurance right now. So many companies are raising their prices considerably and others are pulling out of the state all together. Threat of fires, flooding and other disasters. I hope you have a great week, Anne. Happy reading and take care!
