The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  Sterling giveaway ends tonight.

Sunday,  my daughter isn’t feeling well but she loves the NC Museum of Art.  It’s a community day (free) and one of the last for the Native American works, also a quilt show.  They were supposed to have some hands-on stuff but we didn’t find it.  I found it much more interesting than I expected.

On the way home I did a Sam’s Club pickup.  My brother and niece texted me pictures of Jay “reading” the book I gave him. The other photo he’s totally absorbed in it, but I chose this one because it shows his face.   I did the usual blog visiting and got organized for the week.  I planted spaghetti squash about a week ago because the carrots I planted 5 weeks ago didn’t seem to be coming up.  Now with the rain the last week, the spaghetti squash came up fast and now the carrots are up too!

Monday, my daughter was up and busy before I ate breakfast.  After 3 months, they are going to try a different injectable to prevent migraines since she is still having them.  Plus they ordered DHE again which is 3 days of 3-4 hours of IV infusions.  Since she already has 5 medical appts this week, that is likely to mean a bunch of rescheduling. I did half of the errands planned just going to BJs, Lowes Foods and Aldi.  It turns out Lowes has what used to be my favorite gluten free bread, Rudi’s Sourdough White.  Now that LaBrea stopped making my favorite I’ll be back to Rudi’s.  They used to have it at Harris Teeter but not for a long time, and it’s at Lowes.  I got some thin bagels too, which are delicious.  My daughter set up in the dining room with her computers because she thinks it is too hot upstairs. I’m up here and I’m cold today, unbelievable, so I got a light sweater.

Tuesday,  well today it’s hot.  I was awake mostly from 2am to 6am, so I’m a bit tired today.  My daughter and I cancelled all the medical appointments for the rest of the week, so she can do the DHE infusions. If it doesn’t happen this week, she said she still didn’t feel good enough to handle the appts.  I wrote some reviews and edited / scheduled some posts. I shut half the returns and put an extra quilt on my bed because my bedroom is so cold.

Wednesday,  I got a good night’s sleep. Things started off well with getting my daughter’s DHE infusions scheduled for M/Tu/W next week.  That means I’ll just be home this week to do things which is fine.  Now I can plan better for the next week because that was the highest priority. I’m finishing up reviews, post setups and visiting.  We got some of our Amazon buys from Prime Day. The birds and bees love the herb garden. I saw this tiny yellow bird with black markings and looked it up. It’s a goldfinch.  We’ve had hummingbirds too.

Thursday,  I slept 10 hours.  I hate that my daughter has so much pain but it’s nice for me having a low-key week where we stay home. The weather is turning today with wind shifting to from the north.  So I walked Lulu after breakfast.  I hope tomorrow or Saturday I’ll be able to mow the lawn finally.  The garden is loving these daily showers. I made a phone call I’d putting off.  I also did several post setups. I changed the batteries in the thermostat and the display is still missing digits, so it’s time to look into a new one.

Friday,  today was cloudy.  I did some blog visiting.  I walked Lulu. I worked on the menu plan. I finally got the boxes of Christmas decorations stored in the garage.  I picked up a couple items at Harris Teeter, plus my daughter’s RX.  She got a new injection medication to prevent migraines.  Lulu has her new toys from the trip – Peggy Panda, Fernando Fox and she tucked in Henry Hippo too.

Saturday,  the wind is out of the north so it’s really pretty nice.  I walked Lulu.  Then I mowed part of the lawn.  The grass is so high it was hard work for the electric mower. I was unable to finish half before the charge on both batteries was used.  I did some trimming of the cherry tomato plant. I ordered us a Madam President and a Harris for President t-shirt.

Thanks so much to Tor, Avon Books, Crooked Lane Books, Harper Audio, Tantor Audio, Little Brown – Hachette Audio,  Kensington Books.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got these for 99¢ each at Chirp.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. I’m glad you have both spaghetti squash and carrots now! I’ve never had a vegetable garden myself, but I love home-grown veggies. They’re always bigger and more flavorful. My sister usually shares her veggies and I look forward to it each year. 😀

That picture of your nephew is so cute! I always love seeing little kids “reading.” It makes my heart happy.

I hope you have a great week!

  2. I love looking at textile displays in museum. Glad you could enjoy the quilts and fashions. Poor kiddo. I know its so hard to see your daughter suffering like that. Hope this new infusion treatment does the trick. Funny about the carrots being contrary and coming in now that you planted the squash. With all our hot weather, my tomatoes are starting to come in and some beans (LOL, I forgot what they’re called- a new variety for me). Yay for time spent home to get so much done.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  3. I hope the new treatments work for your daughter! Those quilts are beautiful! It does seem like an interesting exhibit. We finally got a break from the heat wave yesterday and I was actually cold last night! This morning too. I didn’t get much sleep because Peanut had an injury to his ear, what I thought was a sticker ended up a scratch from another cat and it got infected and inflamed. We had to take him to the emergency vet this morning. He was sedated and they lanced, cleaned it, gave him an antibiotic shot. It’s been a long day. I’m happy he’s going to be okay.

  4. Sweet Lulu💜 With some of her favorite things…

Those quilts are beautiful! My sister-in-law makes the most lovely quilts and she’d go crazy for this exhibit. Great audiobook haul this week! I got Worst Case Scenario, too, and am salivating over This is Why We Lied,/i>

    Have a great reading week!

  5. The quilt exhibit looks fascinating! I’m glad your daughter felt well enough that she was able to enjoy it overall. Fingers crossed that the next injection helps with the migraines. Jay is adorable and I love how serious he is about his book. Give Lulu extra pets and have a great week!

  6. I hope your daughter gets some relief. I replied on my blog before seeing your post that the week ended up being less busy than anticipated. I hope this week goes smoothly. I’m totally over all this rain. Yeesh.

  7. Jan

The quilt display looks fun, looks like some great book additions to your kindle library. Have a great week.

  8. Your poor daughter, I hope she can get some relief this week!

Cute pics of Lulu and little Jay! I’m glad he loves the book you gave him.
