The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,   I’m caught up on reading but I hope that lasts.  I’m changing my method for Series on Saturday and Thrifty Thursday next year to let me read more of my favorite authors and other backlist reading.   I got plenty of sleep last night finally after waking up just after 3 am for a few days last week.   I have seen the hurricane photos and heard stories and it is heartbreaking.  It makes me even more aware of how fortunate I am and thankful for what we have.  Our weather has been more typical October with 70s and lower humidity. Tammy reminded me to check my spam folder and I found some regular readers there and marked them Not Spam. I’ve been doing the usual blog visiting and edit/schedule some posts for this week. We walked with the neighbor and Abby in the late afternoon. I worked on a couple SoS new format posts.

Monday, I didn’t go to sleep well, so I also didn’t get up very early.  I finished my audio for Thursday and wrote the review.   I finally remembered to call Ninja about our kitchen system.  The base smells like it’s burning. I wanted to buy a new base or a series that would use some of our existing accessories.  They said I could register it (it is 5 years old) and they would send a new one at no charge.  Mine was discontinued so it is a newer model.  That is quite a warranty!  I don’t know if it will use any of our existing cups or none of our accessories.  Another nice day for us to walk with Lulu.

Tuesday, it’s definitely a bit chilly this morning.  Other than the usual stuff, we had a followup appt on my daughter’s ear infection.  Everything looks good.  On the way home, we got her favorite pasta from a downtown restaurant which we had been meaning to do since her birthday in June.

Wednesday,  another cool morning.  The nights may get down to 45F/ 7C  so I updated the downstairs Google Thermostat to add heating.  I talked to my brother.  They put on hurricane shutters this week. They are staying in Tampa but not near the ocean.  I’m hesitant because Asheville NC is not anywhere near the ocean either. I did some mending on my daughter’s close.  We walked Lulu to the park.  They still had the setup for a photo from the fall festival last weekend so I took a photo.

Thursday,  I was not very energetic.  I did the usual stuff. The neighbor texted and so we walked Lulu and Abby to the park. Then I trimmed Lulu’s toenails.  My new passport arrived in the mail.  The new process is really so easy on the government website.

Friday,  a bit chilly but nice.  The doctor called and it’s eczema more moisturizing and a cream I already have for itchy spots.  I called to see about garden plants available.  I can still get broccoli and chard since something ate those plants to the ground.  The carrots are growing but scarce and the beets are growing. The tomatoes and basil are about finished.  The peppers are producing a few more.  I helped the neighbor load her car for a weekend visit to her sister.  Then we all walked with Abby and Lulu.   The gastro let us know the PA was approved for another medication for my daughter so we went to pick it up and get our flu shots. I made a BLT with one of the fresh garden tomatoes.

Saturday,  another chilly morning. I’m feeling a few allergy symptoms and turned on the space heater in the office.  I did the usual things. The New Ninja Kitchen system came and I started washing it up.  The cups look like they will work.  The blade has the same number of pins but does not work and not the processor or blender unit.  Those are like new so I wonder if there is anyone who would want them.  I worked on the menu plan. We will use the last of the basil tonight.  We can try out the new Ninja cup blending. It’s going to be too cold for basil soon anyway.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My grateful thanks to Tantor Audio,   Ace Books.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got this audio for 99¢ at Chirp even though I have the ebook as a freebie.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

Chirp Freebie Friday audiobooks!

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. How do you track down all these free books! That’s amazing. I can see why you need more time to read them.

  2. Look at you with all those new books! I hope you enjoy them,

My allergies have been killing me and now I think I am getting a sinus infection (story of my life)
The weather took a turn here and you know I am LOVING it! The family complains the house is cold and I am walking around in shorts and a t-shirt, living my best life 🙂 lol

Have a great week Anne, Happy Reading! xxx

  3. I hope your brother’s house didn’t sustain any damage. The weather has been insane and I didn’t realize Asheville was in an area that could be affected by a hurricane. I’m not familiar with the area though. I’m so happy you weren’t affected! My tomatoes are pretty much done and I didn’t get much from them anyhow. My basil is still going strong. We have cooled down too, and the nights are in the low 40s. We’re in Montana on our way back right now (in a car headed to airport!). The fall colors are stunning out here!

  4. The pictures in Western NC are heartbreaking. I lived in Raleigh for 5 years and know people who live in Asheville. I also have friends in the Tampa/Sarasota area. Luckily, they faired better with Milton. The wind seemed to be the worse thing for them-lots of downed power lines, stop lights, etc.
    Have a great week!

  5. We’ve had decent weather since I’ve been back from my trip; however, this morning it was 40F and raining. Inside the house was 60F, so I turned on the heat. Both kiddos are home and we are celebrating my son’s 21st birthday with the family today. I missed having them around, especially my daughter. We’ve stayed up late watching TV since she’s been home.

  6. Jealous of the being caught up on reading! I had that for a tiny bit at the end of the summer I think. Then school started and that was gone. Maybe next year I’ll actually stop signing up for any reviews other than the few I always do? We’ll see, lol. Love the photo set up with the pumpkins, that’s so cool! It has gotten cooler in the evenings here, but not enough for heater yet really. I think we might get our first frost of the season tomorrow morning though, so I’m happy for that! Hope you have a good week!

  7. I need to do something similar to your Series on Saturday and Thrifty Thursday next year to let me read more of the physical books on my shelves. The physical books on my shelves don’t seem to count towards any of the monthly themed reading I like to participate in, such as Japanese Lit, Reading Ireland, etc. So I need to find a month where there’s nothing like that that interests me and designate it as Reading From Jinjer’s Shelves Month or something. I need a catchier name for it.

Thanks for the reminder. I just checked to make sure poor Mae wasn’t in my Spam again. Not sure why she keeps ending up in there!

Had to Google Ninja Kitchen system to see what you were talking about. That’s cool that they will sent you a new one! Exceptional customer service.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I’m jealous about the BLT with the garden tomato!!!!

  8. That’s impressive customer service from Ninja! Good to know for future purchases. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my reading next year. There are so many books I want to read that I need to focus a better and figure out how to get to books on my shelf and the ones I want to get from the library. Hope you’re having a great week!
