After more than a year of laying low, Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie are called back into action. They have enjoyed their rest, but the lack of excitement is starting to a professional killer can only take so many watercolor classes and yoga sessions before she gets the itch to get back in the game. When they receive a call from Naomi Ndiaye, the head of the elite assassin organization known as the Museum, they are ready tackle the greatest challenge of their careers.
Someone on the inside has compiled a list of important kills committed by Museum agents, all of them connected to a single, shadowy figure, an Eastern European gangster who rules her business empire with an iron fist and plays puppet master in international affairs. Naomi is convinced this criminal queen is bent upon revenge, killing off the agents who attempted to thwart her, and the aging quartet of killers is next.
Together the foursome embark on a wild ride across the globe on the double mission of rooting out the Museum’s mole and hunting down the gangster and her assassin. But their nemesis is unlike any they’ve faced before, and it will take all their experience and a whole lot of luck to get out of this mission alive.
I had always wanted to read this author and really enjoyed Killers of a Certain Age.  I was thrilled the Killers of a Certain Age would continue as a series.  The women seemed to be retired without being erased after the last adventure about two years ago. We have Helen, Natalie, Mary Alice and Billie. We mostly have Billie telling us their story.
The women are about 60 and worked previously for the “Museum.” Now Naomi, the head of the museum summons them. But it is a personal mission, as an agent from Provenance, Lillian Flanders, has been murdered and Naomi herself is in danger and so are the four ladies.  Lillian sent the four on a job about 40 years ago.
So now they go to end anyone who might be avenging that kill, since it was their only contact with Lillian. The ladies gather interesting information and work out various connections. We get flash backs in time to the original job and other related events.
It’s exciting and dangerous. Our team of ladies have various circumstances since they were “let go” without the normal pensions of the Museum for retirees. But since they are probably also on the current killer’s list, they work the case. We get an update on their current personal relationships as they end up bringing their loved ones to a safe house as things become even more perilous.
I liked these smart women, their skills, and how they cared for each other. Luckily they persevered and I have to wonder if they will have more adventures.
Narration:
These narrators have been with the whole series so far.  was comfortable with the narration. It seemed to me that Jane Oppenheimer did more of the narration and I found it easy to listen to her.  I listened at my usual 1.5x speed.

I’m sure I would love this series, especially since I’m also of a certain age, lol.
I’m sure you would as it’s a fun series. It shares some premise with The Thursday Murder Club which I also love. This one is all ladies though.
I enjoyed the first book in the series quite a bit. This seems like it was a stong sequel and a lot of fun to read as well.
yes, this author is talented at the characters and an adventure.
My favorite part is always their different personalities and skill sets when working together. I was surprised and glad for the second book.
yes it is fun and good to see the ladies again. They each had their own personal situations but come together for the cause.
The woman sound like great characters.
Exactly, they are great characters with a life’s worth of experiences.
I really enjoyed the first book and like you was so glad to see it was going to be a series. I’m excited to see you enjoyed the 2nd book as well! I can’t wait to read it.
I hope you really enjoy it too.
Love the covers of this series. If I read more books like this I would definitely be picking them up. Great review!
Thanks Lisa.
I’m intrigued because of your review. Mmmm
I hope you enjoy it if you try it.
When the publisher sent the invite for this one they said it released March 11th! Now it says March 4th. I have my review scheduled for the 14h. Oh well. Glad to see you liked it, Anne!
yes it’s frustrating when they change the schedule. And I know they want the review within a week of release date usually.
Yay! It sounds like this is a great sequel to the first book. I can’t wait to read it! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
yes I would say it’s a great sequel. I actually hope they will have more in the series.
I really enjoyed this second installment and the narration is well done. I enjoyed this one because we knew the players and I loved seeing them work so well together. Great book!
yes I enjoyed these characters too! They make the story as well as a good pace.
I enjoyed the heck out of this one and share my review later this week. Glad you are on enjoying the series.
So glad to know you enjoyed it so much too.
I love the title. The first book was all right for me, but I’d like to read this one too.
These are full of action and adventure, and the experience and issues of older women.
