Romance, suspense, and mystery are all here. The beginning was problematic. I’m not sure if it was because it is one of the author’s early works or related to the romance focus. The characters were all over the place emotionally. It felt inconsistent or uneven. Maybe it was too dramatic or insta-lust for me. I’m more likely to start with an intellectual connection. Both main characters were considered wildly attractive by others which was a bit too much.
Once Silenced Memories moved on to focus more on the mystery and aspects other than the romance, it was much better. Even the romance improved as the book developed. The main characters were strong, successful people. Michael knew his issues from the past, whether he was willing to address them or not. Kate had some real surprises from her past come forth. She did do a version of TSTL; was it brave or stupid?
The mystery suspense was engaging and the characters grew. Each book in the Hidden Truths series contains romance and mystery, which is a favorite combination of mine. The third book looks to focus on a character introduced in Silenced Memories, but each one can be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to trying more of this author’s work in the future.

Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.
It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.
In 2015, she published her first novel, Silenced Memories. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters.The other thing I enjoy is humor.
