The Cutter Cay series so far has been about the three Cutter brothers. Now, we learn about Jonah, the previously unknown half-brother. He actually had more of his parent’s time and attention growing up than the original brothers. But he hasn’t had the wealth or fame of the family. I was very curious to learn more about him and how his newly found brothers would get along.
Stormchaser is my favorite book so far. In addition to the suspense of the salvage projects, this one adds a historic sort of archaeological project, which to a great extent salvage is as well. There is deception in the crew (not completely unusual) and some high-tech or paranormal aspects of the project.
As with the rest of the series, I still think the lust turns into sex and a relationship rather fast. Jonah has a boat now and seems comfortable with his crew. The salvage itself brings out the killers this time which seems much more realistic than the personal attacks. Jonah is a nice guy. Callista is well educated, had a horrid childhood, and grew up living next door to the Case family. She comes to the crew with her secrets, planning to betray Jonah.
Despite difficulties, Jonah and Callista become a couple. The book ends a bit abruptly so I am excited to see how it works out in Hurricane, which is out next month. It features the enemy of the Cutter family, Rydell Case. The review will be April 5th.
