Rydell Case’s ship is his home, his heart, and his reason for being. After his ex-wife left him—taking his brand-new megayacht, Tesoro Mio with her—she sailed off with a royal billionaire and out of his life forever. Now Ry spends his days searching for treasure—until his ship is hijacked. With the prospect of his salvage business tanking, he needs both the ship and his ex back—if only she didn’t despise him more than any man on earth. . .

When Addison D’Marco boards Tesoro Mio to find her ex-husband in her cabin, she’s furious. Ry is more handsome, more annoying, and more determined than ever. Addy can’t believe he has the nerve to demand the ship back after the way he broke her heart. With her fiancé about to board, she doesn’t want Ry back in her life to ignite painful memories and never- forgotten desires. But could it be that, amid troubled waters, Addy and Ry can salvage what they once had and have a second chance at love. . .or does fate have something else in store?

The Cutter Cay series  so far has been about the three Cutter brothers. In the previous book, Stormchaser , we learned about Jonah, the unknown half-brother. He’s great and falls for Callista. She is well educated, had a horrid childhood, and grew up living next door to the Case family.  Which leads us to this book, about the long-time enemy, Rydell Case.

Hurricane is my new, favorite book in the series.  We finally get to see some thought processes and what is going on with Rydell.  He has been married and divorced. So the relationship doesn’t feel too fast, since they already know each other well. They have issues, lots of issues. There are many people trying to control them and use them, separately and together.

The attacks are made on a personal basis rather than related to the salvage, which again seems a bit much. Again, there is deception in the crew. There is more of a mystery here about why Rydell and his ex, Addy, have so many problems.  The ending takes us a bit into the future. However, I want more. Specifically, I would enjoy at least a novella to see how the Cutters and Cases, are going to get along when Jonah and Callista marry.

Books in the series (in order) are:

Undertow

Riptide

Vortex

Stormchaser

Hurricane
