Grieving the death of his partner, Theo Bosco has no room in his life for distractions. Though his instincts scream that he should avoid Juliet "Jules" Jackson, he can't seem to stay away. It doesn't help that Theo's new K9 companion has fallen head over paws with Jules's rambunctious family. Or that when he's with her, Theo finally knows peace. When Jules rescued her siblings, whisking them away to the safety of the beautifully rugged Colorado Rockies, she never expected to catch the eye-or the heart-of a cop. Yet as Jules struggles to fight her growing attraction to the brooding K9 officer, another threat lurks much closer to home . . . And this time, there's no escape.
I enjoyed this, so much, even though I had to suspend my disbelief at times. Run to Ground is the first in the Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series. There are other series by this author set in this small town also. I have not read those yet, so I didn’t recognize characters some might. I read the prequel novella to the Search and Rescue series. I think it was too short for me to get connected.
The characters here were small town quirky and so lovable. Jules has had some tough situations in her life and did the bet she could. She is loyal and compassionate. She is not stupid but sometimes she is almost TSTL. Jules loves her siblings. And those kids melted me. Theo has suffered some deep losses and he blames himself. I love his grumpy. His co-workers are pretty darn awesome and fun. Hugh is a riot!
The narration was great! I loved the different voices and accents. I am not knowledgeable enough to know if they are authentic to the region but they fit well for me. She really brought these characters to life. She was clear and easy to understand, yet infused the emotional tenor.
I was captured by the suspense, on edge throughout the story. My emotions were rolling with the love, the danger, the worry and the bromance. A special heartstring tugged for Viggy, the K9 partner. I hurt for him and cheered for him. I hope we see more of this couple as I am concerned about some of the unresolved issues. The romance was a slow burn and it will be interesting to see how they manage. The epilogue hints at a new challenge for them. Although, On the Chase, available September 5, 2017, will feature the hilarious Hugh.

I loved this one too on audio Anne and have my review scheduled to share in July. Now we wait for the next one!
I really loved the first series you referenced. I need to see if I missed the request for this one. I really want to listen to it. I was a little bummed to see a new narrator for this series, but glad to hear she did a good job.
