One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

A short review to update challenges

Holy hotness! This is a rush of feelings, thoughts, lust and sex.  At the beginning, it felt ridiculous, but then the endless flow of emotions as they build a relationship is real. I love how they come to know each other, so slowly, but finally. I felt the concern throughout about the time frame and the dread of something unknown.  And it turns out my imagining fear was exactly right!

The narration seemed to fit very well. The voice is Mia for me. Most voices in the story are female and it is mostly Mia.  I did really enjoy the tone she gave Ansel as well.  I didn’t feel I could speed this one up and kept it at 1.0x speed.

I enjoyed the story all but seriously it seems like they don’t get to know each other (besides sex) until maybe 75% through Sweet, Filthy Boy. Communication is a key in so many stories. I’m happy to say it is an HEA  I peeked ahead to see the next in the Wild Seasons series, Dirty Rowdy Thing, is about two of their friends. YES!

About Christina Lauren

Yes, there are two of us! Lauren (on the left) and Christina (on the right).

Christina Lauren is the combined pen name of long-time writing partners/besties/soulmates Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. The #1 international bestselling coauthor duo writes both Young Adult and Adult Fiction, and together has produced fourteen New York Times bestselling novels. They are published in over 30 languages, have received starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews, Library Journal and Publishers Weekly, won both the Seal of Excellence and Book of the Year from RT Magazine, named Amazon and Audible Romance of the Year, and been nominated for several Goodreads Choice Awards. They have been featured in publications such as Forbes, The Washington Post, Time, Entertainment Weekly, People, O Magazine and more. Their third YA novel, Autoboyography was released in September, followed by a contemporary romance, Roomies in December, and their first Women’s Fiction, Love and Other Words in April.

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you can find her at her desk, writing or watching BTS videos. She grew up in Utah and is absolutely not old enough to be the mom of a 17 year old (right??), thinks she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter.

I LOVE this series. I actually picked up the fourth book for an audiobook review and loved it so much, I went back and bought the first three in print and devoured them. Such a fun series.

    • I’ve just listened to this one in prep for meeting them at Apollycon over the weekend. I did listen to Sweet Filthy Morning After yesterday ( novella of Ansel’s view) Anyway, I’ve already got the next one and plan to go forward. So much sex tho and NSFW. It’s hard to listen to it in the grocery store or waiting in the doctor’s office for my daughter. lol

    • Well I was going to meet them at Apollycon so I had to get started. lol I always meant to read them sooner tho.
