Tinsley Jensen survived the torturous clutches of an elusive masked killer dubbed the Skull, only to be held hostage by her nightmares. She’s terrified of leaving her cottage on Seahawk Island, knowing that the madman is still out there. FBI special agent Wyatt Camden knows it too. He may have rescued Tinsley, but her captor got away. Now he’s driven by guilt, the need for vengeance, and the desire to protect—at any cost—the woman he’s come to love.
Too paranoid to deal with the police, the media, and her sister, Tinsley finds solace in an online support group. She’s too broken to let even Wyatt into her life. But when the threats against Tinsley escalate and her friend disappears, Tinsley is forced out of her self-imposed seclusion to finally face her fears. Wyatt is the only man she can trust to help her, and to save a killer’s latest catch. Now, Wyatt just wants to finish the job he started.
But that’s all the Skull wants too
I discovered this series this spring with Pretty Little Killers, the first in The Keepers series. I chose it since it is a favorite genre of romantic suspense with an FBI team. It had Hatcher and Korine as a temporary team since Wyatt was on medical leave. I loved the case aspect and the narration in Pretty Little Killers.
I wasn’t sure where things would go in Good Little Girls. The setting is 11 months later. Hatcher and Korine are married and expecting a baby. Wyatt is back teamed up with Hatcher. I wasn’t a big fan of Hatcher, so I was happy the focus here was Wyatt and the victim Tinsley.
Tinsley has been hiding out since she escaped the Skull. She has not left the cottage. Tinsley pushed away her sister because she is afraid it will make her sister a target. She continues her blog where woman share their stories and feelings. The one-year anniversary of her abduction is coming up and the Skull is stalking her again.
The mystery of who is the Skull continues with a suspenseful, twisty path. The Keepers, the vigilantes who take down male abusers / rapists continues, even though one of them was arrested in the last book. Even so, I enjoyed the tense situation as the FBI works the cases and events unfold.
While I thought the romance of Hatcher and Korine was rather fast and unrealistic, the slow build of Wyatt and Tinsley felt real. It looks like there will be more in the series with the next book, being about Marilyn Ellis, the news reporter.
Narration:
For Pretty Little Killers, I really enjoyed Andi Arndt with the bit of Southern lilt she gave to the performance. I had to listen at a 1.0 speed or it sounded wrong. For Good Little Girls, it was a new to me narrator, Shannon McManus. I was able to listen at my normal 1.25 speed. With a setting near Savannah, GA there could have been more of a drawl. I enjoyed both her male and female voices with her performance adding to emotional impact of the story.

Sounds like the series is staying strong. I’ve been meaning to read the Rita Herron books I have on my shelf. The Keepers looks better.
I like Andi Arndt for a narrator. Glad the change in narrators still worked out.
yes, sometimes I want the whole series to be the same narrator, especially in UF. But in a series where each book is a different couple I’m ok with a different narrator each time. I am enjoying this series.
