Half-bloods with Thierry’s skill set are given two options. They can join the conclave’s marshal program, or they can pack their bags. Turn down the job offer, and you’ve just shredded your residency pass for the mortal realm and booked yourself a one-way ticket to Faerie.
Texas is the only home Thierry has ever known, and she’s not going anywhere. Even if it means following in her notorious father’s footsteps as a peacekeeper. But pinning on the badge opens her eyes to the fact sometimes fae need protection too, and that sometimes humans are the real monsters.
I really liked this. I do wish it had been a bit longer to develop things a bit more. I definitely plan to read on in the series. The story is about fae who either chose to become part of a marshal program or stay in faerie. The beginning is in the training and testing for the marshal program of Thierry.
A Dog with a Bone gives us just a bit of her history and skills. Her skill set is rare, similar to her father who was called the Black Dog. Her trainer, and first supervisory partner of sorts is Shaw, and incubus. He’s a pretty good guy. They are attracted to one another but they have jobs to do.
Their first case is a shocking punch from what seemed like a nice human couple. Shaw and Thierry have very complimentary skills but they are in great danger. It’s an exciting battle to the end! I plan to read on in the series. I’m hoping for more of this partnership.
These are only Kindle freebies I get, or ones through author newsletters which anyone can sign up and get for free. I don’t include things like Kindle Unlimited or Prime Free Reading (I do have it). Both Tantor and Audible have occasional free audios (to anyone) and I do include those. Since I one-click on 1-2 freebies a day or probably at least 5 a week, I came up with this feature to make sure I start reading them.
So I have thought about doing a Thrifty Thursday Challenge someday. For now, what I think would be fun is if you have read and reviewed a freebie, link up to your review (Goodreads, blog, facebook or wherever) below.

Sounds like a fun series opener? Hopefully you’ll enjoy the rest of the series.
Well I liked the next one. Who knows when I will get to the one after it.
loving that cover. i keep forgetting to share some of the freebies i have been starting to knock off my reading shelf. i’ll flag the email as a reminder
Well you can link in to this post anytime. Should I be announcing in the Sunday post or something which Thursday will be Thrifty Thursday so people can plan ahead? It’s typically once a month but I move it around a bit depending on new releases I get.
i think having a link on your sunday post is a fabulous idea. 🙂
Thank you!
I got all excited and went to add it to the wishlist and it turns out I have it already. LOL Glad you enjoyed it.
That happens to me more than you can imagine. I see a freebie and find out I already have it. Or I got it as a doc and now it is available on Amazon kindle format. I go delete the doc and get the regular Kindle book then.
This a great feature. I am glad you enjoyed it. I also purchased this as a freebie in 2017, guess I need to give it a go.
Thank you. It’s my very small effort to get myself to read my freebies. And to encourage others.
I enjoyed this one. And I owe it a review.
It’s a little bit short but I liked it quite a bit.
