The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I slept well and am happy to be visiting blogs and doing chores today.  I have one final ARC to read for 2023 and I’m reading it now.  It’s a thrill to be a bit ahead.  I tried to disconnect the hose from the faucet outside yesterday and even tried pliers and could not get it loose.  I gave it one more try this morning and I got it!  I was worried because it will be around freezing most nights this week. I can’t believe the leafsucker came today as it is Sunday.   I made a long list before bedtime of all the things I want to do this week.

Monday,  I worked on the usual stuff. I also scrubbed most of my daughter’s bathroom.   I called Audible to ask some questions about giving gifts and also about a credit that says it doesn’t expire until 2041. I signed up for Hulu’s Cyber Monday deal for 99¢ a month (with ads) for a year.  I want to watch the Olympics next year and probably Only Murders in the Building.  I called and asked more questions about my daughter’s college registration.  I took Lulu for a short walk. It was cold and it will be colder the next few days.  I covered the new plants and some plants in the food garden. I went upstairs to do more work after dinner which I don’t do often.

Tuesday, it’s colder and windy but with the sunshine and good coat it felt fine when I walked the dogs.  We went to our annual physicals this afternoon which was a big nothing burger.  I started filling my cart with items in the Audible sale.  There are a lot of really good deals.

Wednesday,  my daughter went to bed at 6am and Lulu barked off and on from then until 8:30am, when I let her outside.  My daughter let her outside at 6am also.  This happens whenever my daughter goes to bed too late.  I got up and went to walk the dogs.  I brought Lulu across and attached her to their front porch.  Kayla eventually saw her but got over it.  I like that because I don’t have to go back across the street to get her.  I thought it would be cold since it got down to 20F/ -7C last night but it was sunny and nice.  I covered plants and that seems to have helped.  Tonight and one day next week will freeze but otherwise warm enough to let them keep growing. I got through my Audible and Chirp selections.  I wrote a few reviews. I made a batch of food for Lulu with ground turkey and spinach..  Luckily, I went back after dinner to finish up my Audible purchases because I realized it will bill me tomorrow for the membership.  I went to cancel and they offered me a really good deal, so I have it another 6 months, then we will see. I just think they only offer deals to new subscribers.

Thursday, a very cold night but by the midday walk it was very nice.  I managed to get up early and get a few things accomplished. The walk was pleasant and if Kayla saw Lulu she didn’t bark or huff at her.  Lulu had her second round of canine flu vaccine. But my daughter’s chiro appt was cancelled. I covered the plants again as it will just be to freezing.  I made another batch of food for Lulu with chicken thighs and green beans. I put together a shelf for my daughter’s bathroom. After dinner I went up to look at the 100 audiobook giveaway.  There were a couple I really wanted and a bunch of others I might try. I got over 30 free audiobooks mostly on Chirp.  The ones I really wanted were the Rachel Grant and Toni Anderson ones but there are others I’m sure I’ll want to read with more consideration.

Friday,  another day with not too much sleep and lots to do.  I put together the second shelf for my daughter’s bathroom and the handyman came to install them. Things went off a bit but I can finish up myself.  Lulu and I took a walk on the longer route and saw 4 swans.  They’re back! I started setting up the 2024 Library Love setup.

Saturday, I got a nice start on all the different fronts.  I’m scrambling to get all my challenge posts set up for 2024.  Lulu and I walked the longer route and this time I took some photos of the swans.  I stopped to talk to a neighbor.  Mom, Dad and 2 of the babies are back, no sign of the third baby.  They were gone since around Halloween.  I’m a little frustrated with all the big tasks on deck and they are all finished except for one final thing or piece of info I have to find.  I just want to finish them!     It’s warm today around 70F /21C and cloudy and humid.  At least it’s not raining.  No rain projected in the week ahead, sunny and 50-60sF.

So another week not looking at FS Poster.  I manually shared friends’ reviews to Threads and Mastodon.  I prefer those two for reading things myself.

I did mange to finish my series in the month buddy read with Berls @ Because Reading and Rachel @Waves of Fiction.  We read the No Evil trilogy by Allison Brennan.  It has a lot of background on the Kincaid family which leads up to her Lucy Kincaid series. I chose to do short Goodreads reviews.

November Reading:  I had another good reading month.  I managed to read 28 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.  I listened to 14 audiobooks, read 7  library books,   20 COYER reads,   and 7   books which I already own.

All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog)  2023 Library Love Challenge

I did manage to read 7 books I own (goal is 3 per month):

  • 🎧 Time and Tide by Peter Grainger
  • 🎧 A Private Investigation by Peter Grainger
  • 🎧 Scourged by Kevin Hearne
  • 🎧 First Dangle & Other Stories by Kevin Hearne
  • 🎧 Death & Honey by Kevin Hearne ( and others)
  • Gladiator by Anna Hackett
  • Alien Mate by Cara Bristol

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

I am so thankful to the publishers – Tantor Audio.

The Audible Sale was huge.  I also had four credits to use by the end of the week. I used my 4 credits for these.

I bought 26 titles in the Audible sale for about $83. I finished off a bunch of series: October Daye by Seanan MacGuire, Tracy Crosswhite by Robert Dugoni, Unwind series by Neal Shusterman,  Shining Smith by Faith Hunter,  and a few audiobooks in the Cavendish & Walker series by Sally Rigby, Chronicles of St. Mary’s by Jodi Taylor,  Evidence series by Rachel Grant,  Kara Gillian by Diana Rowland,  Inspector Wexford series by Ruth Rendell,  DC Smith series by Peter Grainger,  and Paper & Blood by Kevin Hearne.

I got the Audible Daily Deal – Bitter Past by Bruce Borgos for $2.99 which I loved.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Woo hoo! Thank you for a smorgasbord of sweet Lulu💜

That Audible sale was fantastic. Wonderful to see you scored so well. I made an agreement with myself that I’d get the books in my wishlist that were under $5. Later, I went back and got the books in the Fatal series that I was missing and narrated by Eva Kaminsky.

    Have a great week!

  2. Only Murders in the Building is a lot of fun – I hope you enjoy it. I bought a lot of books with the Audible sale, including for next year’s Read-Along. I really am going to work on my TBR next year – I swear! LOL. It got cold here this week: lows in the 20s and highs in the low 40s. I’ve been dealing with a health issue, and I’ve used it as an excuse not to walk.

  3. Damn Anne, Lulu is so cute! And as far as barking is concerned, my dog is barking a lot more now that she is old and deaf!

  4. I’m looking forward to the Olympics. I guess I should start planning now how to watch them. I think I mostly streamed online coverage last time.

    Love the pic.

70 sounds nice. It’s cold here.

  5. Yeah, this past week has been a killer for the audio sales. So many good ones! Looks like your temps are balancing on that tricky spot that makes it hard to decide whether to prep for winter or let them flourish a bit longer. Glad you were able to get lots of work done and get out on your walks where you spotted the swans again. Super job on your monthly reading and challenge numbers.

    Have a great week, Anne!

  6. It sounds like you had a busy week! I grabbed most of the freebie audiobooks. I will probably never listen to most of them but they won’t hurt a thing hanging out in my Google Play account. I tried to cancel my audible membership this week too and got an offer that I couldn’t refuse. I wonder if we got the same offer? Have a great week, Anne!

  7. Congrats on getting so much done! I love reading about Lulu’s adventures – she is so cute. I an trying to figure out what challenges I want to do this year, I’m actually glad that I was able to start blogging again. I’ve backslid a bit with the new puppy but that’s to be expected and I’m still plugging along. Hope you guys have a great week!

  8. The swans are back! So pretty. You’ve been having cooler weather than us here. We had a few days where our low was below freezing, but our low is back in the 40s now. Highs in the 50s. I enjoyed our read-along! I meant to snag The Bitter Past, but forgot. I might have been in Austin. I never have a whole lot of time to myself when I’m with my daughter. We’re back home and I’m tired. Have to work more than usual this week and we’re meeting our son in Lake Isabella (central CA, in the Sequoia National Forrest) on Friday. Sad I missed out on the chat. How did it go?

  9. That’s a fantastic deal with Hulu! It’s been cold here but thankfully not that cold! I’m not a fan of cold weather. The Audible sale sounds fantastic. I kept meaning to go through the books for sale but never did which is probably best considering how many books I I have that I haven’t listened to yet! Have a great week!
