The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I got Lulu out while it wasn’t raining. I ended up chasing her around the yard to get her to go because she doesn’t like wet grass.  I’ve got laundry and dishes going. I’m working on planning for the week ahead.  There’s also the usual Sunday post visiting. Oh I forgot to say our neighborhood pool opened Friday.  So that’s something maybe for a hot day.  Also I signed up last week to be a BBNYA Reader this year.  I’ll talk more about it as I learn more. So I noticed the fan was not going upstairs.  I checked the thermostat and it was a blank screen.  I checked the breakers in the garage and they were all ok. It isn’t like I needed another problem to handle tomorrow.  I ordered a new thermostat to be delivered tomorrow am and a neighborhood electrician will come to install it. I printed out the rebate form for the thermostat.  I filed a claim online for my jiggly, blurry laptop screen. I printed the form to send with the computer.   I picked beets and lettuce for dinner.

Monday,  we got up early.  My new Google Nest was delivered at 6am.  I rushed to do computer visiting and wrote a review.  My daughter had a telehealth appt with her therapist.  My neighborhood electrician came and installed the Google Nest, confirmed the HVAC was getting power.   He gave me the number of a friend who is in HVAC, their only openings were for 12-2,  I chose Wednesday because her infusions are M, Tu and Thur.  Well, the IV nurse would rather have 3 days in a row so fit us into Wed.  So then I had to call back to change to Thursday.  Then I called the guy who installed my downstairs HVAC in 2020 for a quote and he said they could come out today, which then changed to tomorrow morning.  On the way home, I grabbed a Mother’s Day card at Dollar Tree, more of my daughter’s Rx at Harris Teeter and an orange frosty at Wendy’s for her.  They are all right together so it was pretty quick.  When we got home, I walked the dog.  I was totally wiped out and slept well.

Tuesday,  I got up early because the HVAC guy came at 8.  It seems it is an electrical problem, not a HVAC problem but he can fix it. Even in the attic, it was only 75.    Anyway,  the bullet of a new HVAC was dodged for now.  The peonies are blooming!  I walked Abby and Lulu and then it was off to the neuro for the infusions.  We stopped on the way home for Papa Murphy’s Pizza and since Trader Joe’s is next door I picked up a couple things there. When I was prepping dinner I looked out the window to the herb garden – there was a hummingbird!  As soon as I walked over closer to take a photo it zoomed away.

Wednesday, I called to cancel the other HVAC company that was coming tomorrow. I got the rebate paperwork together for the Google Nest Thermostat. I looked up savings coupons for the new migraine preventative medication my daughter may start soon.  I walked Abby and Lulu a little bit early because we had to get to the infusions early.  My daughter is feeling much better.  I feel tired and the humidity is sucking the life out of me. We tried Factor meals  we just got and both agreed they are pretty good.

Thursday,  my only day at home this week and first daylily of the season!  The astilbe and geranium are blooming too.  I walked Abby and Lulu on a longer route; it was cloudy, a nice breeze and felt lovely.  I did a variety of email, and blog setup and planning stuff.

Friday,  it’s another day of medical appts.  My daughter had an appt with her gastro specialists and that seems to be doing ok now after the latest round of antibiotics and the newer medication.  Then we went to pick up her RX at a different Harris Teeter since ours didn’t have it – for migraine prevention, Ajovy. We grabbed a quick lunch, then to the PCP for my daughter to update her on migraine, gastro, joints, and other issues.  I stopped at Lidl for a couple items on the way home.  Poor Lulu is not a fan of being in the crate all afternoon with us gone.  More daylilies are blooming, geraniums, hydrangea, and standard dwarf bearded iris.  We did my daughter’s first Ajovy injection before dinner and she said it was easier than she expected.

Saturday,  it’s much cooler today around 70F / 20C with the wind from the north.  Today, I hope to get the lawn mowed and more dirt moved before more rain off and on this week.  I started with changing sheets and doing more laundry though. I did some of my computer tasks.  I walked Lulu.  Then I went out and mowed the lawn.  I picked the beets and put new dirt in the bed.  I was going to do the weed and feed and realized I didn’t have any!  I ran up to Lowe’s to get it.  Then I did the trimming. I cut the low tree branches in the backyard.  I watered the back gardens.   I looked through all the 100 audiobooks – Stuff Your Earbuds.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My sincere thanks to Minotaur Books,  Del Rey,  Recorded Books.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

NONE.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Busy week! So glad you didn’t have to spend the big bucks on the HVAC. I had to do that the year after I moved in, 2020. Had to take out a loan to do it. I was able to pay it off when I took my 8 years of Kansas retirement out though. I think my lilies are called ditch lilies, so maybe that’s why mine bloom later than yours? Not that I swim really, but most pools around here don’t open till Memorial Day weekend. Which is only a couple weeks away and means the end of this school year! Looking forward to our WTZ chat next weekend, boy the ending of this one!!!!

  2. Happy Mother’s Day!

    Peonies are my favorites!

Glad you didn’t have to get a new HVAC. Those things are a chunk of money, I found out, when I had to replace my mom’s in Arkansas.

  3. Happy Mother’s Day Anne! And I really hope your daughter’s medication will help her with her migraines!

  4. Jan

Happy mothers day, sounds like a lot of juggling hope your upcoming week is a little smoother. Have a great week.

  5. Happy Mother’s Day!
We gave oil and will need to replace at some point but it’s a lot of money, so like you we plan to wait at least for a while to get some extra money. House stuff is so stressful!

I love beets! I wanted to plant a garden this year but I might get a few pots to put in the yard now that I am home on the weekend!

Have a great week, Anne! Happy Reading! xx

  6. Happy Mother’s Day! We are just seeing tulips blooming up here – my lilies won’t bloom until end of June. All the trees are blooming and getting buds, it’s finally starting to green up.

My son made it home from college earlier this week and I had to go grocery shopping to feed him. It’s so different when he’s home. We’ve been watching lots of sports – both Celtics and Bruins are in the playoffs right now. Also working on graduation announcements for my daughter.

  7. You and your busy weeks – you rock! I had errands and things I had to do every evening after work Tuesday – Friday and it drove me insane. I’m such a homebody. I don’t mind getting out but honestly, I’d rather be home with my dogs, Mr. Barb and my books (and streaming services). I am glad to see a few of your freebies are still free because they look really good and I wanted to grab them. Such an enabler! I am starting WTZ tonight. Can’t wait!

  8. I’m with Lulu on not liking wet grass. And yay for dodging the new HVAC bullet! We had to replace our upstairs unit last year and it was shocking how much it cost. I hope you’re having a great week!
