She left her painful past behind.

Poppy Larsen is finally free. She moved to Crimson Point to make a new life for herself, full of bright possibilities. A whole new world awaits her, if she can find the courage to trust again—even her gorgeous neighbor, the town sheriff. But darkness lurks in the picturesque Oregon Coast town, concealing a deadly threat that’s closer than she ever imagined.

Now a killer is watching her from the shadows.

Sheriff Noah Buchanan can’t help but be intrigued by his new neighbor. She’s hard working, sexy as hell, and unlike most of the women in town, she hasn’t thrown herself at him. After it becomes clear that she plans to put down roots here, he finds himself falling more and more for Poppy and her big heart. When someone from her past tries to hurt her, it triggers all his protective instincts. But the real danger is hiding in plain sight. When the unthinkable happens, Noah is thrust into a race against time to save her before it’s too late.

Continuing the Crimson Point series, we have Sierra’s brother, Noah, who was Beckett’s best friend growing up.  He was not in the military but is the local sheriff. Poppy is his new neighbor in the cottage next door. The cottages are very near the ocean.

Poppy, despite difficulties in her past, is a ray of sunshine. She works hard. She’s patient, kind and caring.  I liked her. She opens a cafe/ bookshop. What could be better? I love hearing about her food and her books. Poppy doesn’t want to open up to any man, but Noah isn’t any man.

There’s a serial killer on the loose plus people from Poppy’s past. The suspense, in addition to the sexual tension, had me on the edge. Happily, there are the warm circle of friends, Beckett and Sierra, with the others from the first book, Fractured Honor, to add connections and more layers.

I loved Buried Lies! I was rooting for Poppy and her fresh start.  I cried for her more than once. I’m all in now with these great characters and Crimson Point.   I’m waiting for Shattered Vows releasing January 22, 2019.

“You got any chocolate around here?”

She gave him a funny look. “Of course I have chocolate.”

    • Me too! I love to cook and bake and knit. I could have an awesome place. I read about this sort of thing but it has to be just the right combo to succeed in real life. And I only buy digital books these days which is not in line with this. Well I could do the cafe and knitting and sell knitting books; I like those in print. And if I had the space I’d let book clubs and those who play board games use the cafe space free.

I hope you’re having a great week! Things are finally coming around for me.
