When a tortured young woman enters the trauma center of an Atlanta hospital, Dr. Sara Linton is thrust into a desperate police investigation with Special Agent Will Trent and his partner, Faith Mitchell. Though guarding their own wounds and their own secrets, Sara, Will, and Faith find that they are all that stand between a madman and his next victim.
Continuing with the Will Trent series , this is a new recording featuring the primary narrator of the series, Kathleen Early. I was lucky enough to get Undone for audio review.
The victims are not very likable. But what is happening to them is not right. I liked Faith until now but she is really annoying here. She has some personal issues. They don’t keep her from doing her job but they do affect her treatment of Will a little.
A new to me character is Dr. Sara Linton. She is not new to those who have read the Grant County series. She is working at the hospital where one of the women are being treated. She is smart and kind. I liked her even though Faith did not initially.
Poor Will! This case has a lot of personal triggers for him. Angie is jerking him around. Faith is not happy. The only kindness he receives is from Sara. I look forward to them becoming better friends.
The case is horrific, which seems to be what happens to women in this world. I guess most serial killers do kill women. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the personal lives of Will, Faith, Sara and Angie. Of course, there will be another exciting case as well.
Narration:
It surprises me with the main character Will Trent being male, the primary narrator of the series is a female. But Will is introspective and not very talkative. All the key people in his life are female: Angie, Amanda, Faith, and now Sara. The primary points of view here are Will, Faith and Sara. I felt comfortable with all the voices and listened at my usual 1.5x speed.
