So I wasn’t happy about spending a second day running errands with going back to get the upholstery fabric. BUT it is actually a $1,641 savings on the four pieces. I got enough for the big sofa and chair, even though I was only going to do my little chair and loveseat. Because I could coordinate all the fabrics. BONUS – my daughter liked all 3 fabrics!!! The guy was nice enough to give me the whole roll of the 3 fabrics too. So I needed 4 yards for my little chair and the roll had 6 yards. I needed 13 yards for my loveseat and the roll had 17 yards. I needed 30 yards for the big sofa and big chair and the roll had 38 yards. There should be enough left to make a couple of pillows or maybe even do another small chair someday.
Monday was precious – a day at home. I made carrot cake muffins (GF) with a recipe Jennifer TheBookNympho shared with Chelsea Mueller on facebook. Yummy but it could make 18 rather than 12, they were overflowing. Then I blog visited, handled emails and wrote reviews while I did laundry. I forgot to say I got emails down to about 100 from 350 but I still have some work to do there. Next up was yard work. I got the lawn mowed but it was so hot I had to take a second shower afterward. I took out a bunch of garbage and recycle before we ate a late lunch. I only had a couple hours before I started making the clam chowder for dinner. But I remembered I had 2 Shutterfly deals which expired soon, so I went to work on my 2020 Calendars. I made a list because if I am careful I can usual get them as freebies and only pay for shipping. There were only 2 I could do with minor updates so I did those. I also emailed my brother and his wife for their 2019 pictures so I could work on one for Mom soon. After dinner I never have much energy but I did unpack a box and finally, I hung the calendars in the work room. It took only about 10 minutes but that one thing made me feel so good!
Tuesday was medical appointments which ended early enough that I put together the trimmer! I can say the Greenworks 60v products are easy to put together and use and quiet! It was still hot but I did all the trimming and got the yard waste ready to go. That meant a second shower for the day. Wednesday was a race from start to finish, school, errands, and quilting. I wrote a review and dug / prepped a third of the garden bed while she was at school. We went to the custom framers so she could look at the final decisions I was trying to make. My research on DMV offices paid off and we were in and out to get REAL IDs with our new address in less than 15 minutes. I had a 4 hour wait last time in Cary. She shopped at the thrift store for a few items. She napped but got up for quilting. We finished the final square of the king dog quilt, 25 squares. So now on to sashing and borders.
Thursday was all the hoopla about the hurricane. We had mani / pedis, got a few groceries and then she had one med appt. It rained a little. She got an email that “no classes on Friday” so it’s like the snow days we had in Iowa when I was a kid. Yay for another amazing day where I could catchup on emails, phone calls, laundry, and blog reviews. I wish I had gotten to the yardwork in the morning when it was cool and quite windy, but I wanted to make phone calls when businesses were open. We have dog training on Saturday morning but other than that I have all weekend to catchup, unpack and read!! I am getting my 3 day holiday after all.
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):
Oh I am excited for these reads! Thank you so much Social Butterfly PR, Tantor Audio, and Simon & Schuster Audio.
(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)
The first 2 are the Prime free reads for the month. I got a deal on a Travis McGee as I am trying to decide if I will collect this series on audio. The Harlan Coben is an Audible Daily deal. White Gold is a Chirp deal.
Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.
I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.
I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.
If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Haven’t been able to catch up with you ever since I went on hiatus! Sounds like you’re busy with lots of good things 🙂 I hope you are doing well!
Everyone needs a break! I disappeared during much of July and early August since I was moving and went to Book Bonanza. I’m still struggling. I did my posts but I didn’t get out much. Yesterday I was reading emails from July / August and going to those blog posts. I’m nearly caught up. At least my emails are below 100; they were up to like 350. *shudders* Thanks for visiting.
Carrot cake muffins? Yum!!! You’ve also had a crazy busy week.
Nice book pickups, too! I really enjoyed Run Away & Barefoot with a Bad Boy, though I tend to love anything these two authors write.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks. I always am excited by the haul, except by how long I have to wait to read them. lol
I love that, instead of “snow days” , the schools are off for “rain days.” These days are very memorable when you’re a kid. I remember a snow day in Minnesota where icecles were hanging off every tree branch. These days snow days are common, maybe too common..
My daughter graduated in 2014 and never had a snow day even when there was 22 inches of snow! She did have one cold temperature day since it wasn’t going to get above -10 and they didn’t want kids at the bus stop when it was -25. It isn’t so much the rain here as the wind and the damage it does, although the rain can cause flooding. But it was nothing this time.
Wow what a great deal on the upholstery! Glad the hurricane didn’t impact you too much. I have family in Myrtle Beach and they had to head inland.
Have a great week!
I really like the location of being a couple hours from the ocean and a couple hours from the Blue Ridge mountains. It’s a unique area and I like the climate better than either of those. Yes, I’m happy to be having some things work out on the house.
Hooray for the savings on the fabric! I’m exhausted reading about your day at home Monday. Yikes! I saw that free box set from Marie Force but the last thing I need is more books so I passed it buy. That took resolve. LOL
I haven’t reached that point yet. I try to only get things I will actually read and I’ve gotten pretty selective. Yes, I love a good deal.
Your industry and energy leave me awestruck! I’m so distractable these days, I don’t seem to get much done even when I’m really trying, and I don’t have a lot of stamina, either. Once it cools off a little more, I want to get back to walking, so I have more energy for the other stuff I need to do.
It’s awesome that you were able to get that much savings on the upholstery fabric. Your home is going to be beautiful!
I don’t know about beautiful – I’ll settle for comfortable and functional. It is good to get things in place. My desire to get it done gives me energy, even if I’m tired.
It seems to me that you are very handy and creative Anne! I am amazed at all that you can do! Have a lovely Sunday!
Thank you Sophie. I just keep trying things and working at things. Even if I’m not good at them all but I work at figuring them out.
You got a great deal on the upholstery fabric! I don’t blame you for deciding to do more than just the one chair. I am glad your daughter is happy with your choice. You had a very productive week. It’s always a good feeling when you are able to get so much done. It doesn’t feel like it happens often enough these days. I hope you enjoy all your new books! I have been wanting to try something by Estep, but haven’t managed to yet. I hope you have a another great week, Anne!
Thank you! I do feel like it turned out well since I had the second 3 days weekend for unpacking stuff. Finally I am making some progress.
Sounds like you’ve been really busy!
I’m finally back at the Sunday Post and I’m so excited to catch up with everyone! It’s been to long!
Your new books look promising!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Life is busy! I am enjoying my books and unpacking, Thank you!
Another busy week but I’m glad you got so much done that you wanted to! $1600 saving on fabric is incredible! Well worth the inconvenience of going back!
I love carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting. I’m going to have to make some soon!
yes it all worked out. Well I didn’t frost my muffins but I love cream cheese frosting too.!
Wow, that is a huge savings! And, the extra fabric will be great.
Looks like you got a lot tackled this week. I had a double shower day once last week. It got hot and sticky for chores really fast.
Neat to get a school cancellation day to work on quiet stuff a little.
I got the Marie Force boxed set freebie, too.
Have a good week, Anne!
Thanks Sophia! It has worked out well in the end. I’m used to the double shower days from moving anyway. I was happy to get the garden planted this morning. You have a great week too!
WOW what a busy week. It sounds like you got a lot done. It’s always great to be productive. Like the book haul. I hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you! I’m finally catching up a little and getting some unpacking done.
Whew! It sounds like another busy week. I do have to agree that stay at home days are the absolute best. Your quilt is looking great and it sounds like you got a terrific deal with the fabric for your upholstery. Enjoy all of your new reads and have a great week, Anne!
Thanks Carole! I do feel like I am finally making progress. I don’t mind being busy or tired if I am getting things accomplished.
I’m always trying to cutback on the freebies, but it never works. But..They are fee and they don’t hurt anyone. LOL Have a great week!
Exactly and I wouldn’t want to run out of books! lol But they really help with challenges like when I need a book that has a pirate or mermaid or something. It’s great to have that stockpile. The freebies are often shorter books too.
I wish I had half your energy! I was lucky just to make it to work this week. LOL
It’s a struggle some days! But when I WANT to do things it is easier. Sometimes the weather or other factors don’t make it easy.
You got a great deal with all that upholstery fabric, I hope the recovering process goes smoothly.
Have a great reading week
Thanks. The actual upholstery won’t take place until December but I’m a plan ahead kind of gal.
Love the covers for the Penny Reid series. Enjoy this latest bunch 😉
yes. I’m excited for all the Smartypants romance. I am doing some of the tours but not all. Who could manage them all? Partly though it’s because I do reviews not just promo posts.
Wow you got so much done! I’m impressed. And I LOVE that doggy quilt. Bet you will be so proud when it’s finished. Glad the DMV didn’t take forever. It seems like it’s always luck of the draw huh? I hope you have a wonderful week and get lots more done – but it sounds like that won’t be a problem with your motivation and organization 🙂
Thanks Barb! I did notice just yesterday that the dog on the brown corners of the square looks very much like Lulu. And this quilt was started in MN over 5 years ago. We are just really making progress now, working together. This should be a GREAT week since we have nothing on Tuesday or Thursday and those days at home are golden for projects. Now if the weather would cool down just a bit.
I love how generous they were when they sold you the fabric! So nice! Run Away was pretty good, I thought, and A Single Light was FAB! I hope you love it! Have a great week, Anne!
I feel lucky the whole thing with the fabric worked out in the end. I really LOVED The Line Between so I am looking forward to getting into A Single Light this week.
Glad the hurricane was all hoopla for you. Hope you are having a good week.
Thank you I am. I hope you are doing well. I know you have a full week with much on your plate. That’s how I like it but I am SO happy to have a more relaxed week myself.
Aren’t days at home so nice! I get so tired of being out and about with work and whatnot. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished. I’ve enjoyed some of the Winston Bros books. Hope the newest is really good! Happy reading, Anne! 🙂
Thank you. Yes I try to have a mix of home and out & about days. I try to pack all the errands together so I have bigger blocks of time at home.
Wow! Sounds like it was definitely worth it to do a little extra running around for that fabric!
Yes and we both like it which is a big plus!
That sounds like you´ve had a very busy week. Holy moly. I am glad that you´ve got all those fabrics and can be as creative as you want. Doing something for your home is always something good and great.
Best wishes
Vi
Yes I love fabric and yarn. I think some of the fabric is soon going into more charity baby quilts for the NICU here. But we will love having the quilts around the house also.
