The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.  Series on Saturday ends tonight!

Sunday,  I stayed up too late. Lulu woke me too early. I went back to sleep and had a late start.  I’m doing the usual visiting. I got myself to go out and vacuum about a third of the yard.  Then Lulu and I took a short walk with my daughter.

Monday,  I wake up at a reasonable time but still didn’t get going fast enough.   I decide to focus on planning with the errands upcoming the next 3 days. I notified winners from a number of giveaways which just ended and got together their prizes.  I put together a Walmart order.  I did a short walk with Lulu and it was late enough in the afternoon the temperature was already dropping. My daughter did work with me to find an acceptable class although there are still 3 others she would prefer more for that elective second class. I stayed up late reading but finished a good book.

Tuesday,  Lulu got me up too early and I went back to sleep.  I still got started ok.  I finished the last of the healthcare setup for 2023 with auto payment setups.  I paid for the Spring 2023 semester and keep checking to see if there are drops in one of the classes she would prefer. There might be later in the week as payment is due tomorrow.  We went to the dentist.  I had no cavities but my daughter has two.  We did the Walmart pickup easily on the way home.  I got into something though because my right eye was red and itchy and watering.  My throat was also scratchy.  But the allergy eye drops took care of it and I took a Zicam.  I checked the college registration after getting the groceries put away and got one of her preferred classes!  One person had dropped. I was so tired I wanted to go to bed instead of fixing and eating dinner.

Wednesday,  a good night’s sleep put me in better shape.  I checked again to make sure our January healthcare was paid and it’s all set.  UGH Twitter.  I love it because all my apps are connected to it but..  Apparently now they are trying to sell all our personal data, locations and phone numbers, unless one pays for a monthly subscription.  Also, it used to be if I typed in a mention the person would come up after 2-4 characters, now I have to type 6-8. I did my errand run of the post office, Aldi and then the RX at Harris Teeter.  They had done 30 days instead of 90 so I shopped while they redid it. That worked out well as I found excellent sales on a few items I’d been looking for.  Someone dropped another  preferred class , but my daughter decided she liked the other one better.  So she is taking Art History and Myth in Human Culture.

Thursday, I got going fast because I knew Lulu would be in the crate all afternoon.  My daughter was volunteering for the Salvation Army with her school group.  They were packaging gifts / clothes for families in need.  She did it last year and enjoyed it.  So she is the only one who wore a mask.  I got our Christmas tree $50 for a 5 foot tree at the Farmer’s Market along with some apples and beets, got my car inspected,  got a few items at Trader Joe’s, a quick return at Aldi,  dropped off a box of stuff at Dorcas Ministries,  got my tags for my car and Harley,  then picked up Thai takeout, before picking my daughter up.  It was a dark, chilly, rainy afternoon and I’ll be glad to stay home tomorrow.

Friday, I was very sad to see Aaron Rupar suspended from Twitter. He’s an independent journalist from Minnesota, and lost 5 years of his work.  I’m moving in slow motion today,  just working through things I need to do in the most distracted way. I finally got a response for the 2022 Read-along grand prize from the International winner and now have contacted the US winner.  Lulu and I took a walk on the long route and saw the swans from afar.  The weather was 54F/12C but felt nice with sun and a south wind. I ordered the 4 free COVID tests they are offering again.  The ones we had have expired; we haven’t needed them so far. I noticed I had a bill from a utility which turned out to be from Minnesota where I haven’t lived since 2015.  Someone had stolen my identity for it, so I had to report fraud.  Now I worry about more instances.

Saturday,  so much I want to do and this morning is the Ilona Andrews zoom.  I ended up enjoying the IA Zoom chat because I actually got to work on my knitting while I watched . I MUST get out to work on the leaves in the yard this afternoon. I worked a lot on content for the IDC posts.  I spent some time prepping for January Series on Saturday. Then I decided to go walk Lulu on a medium route, before I came back and finished the leaf eating!  Then I got my daughter to hold the top while I put the Christmas tree in the holder.  We ate an early dinner, trying a new show, Bar Rescue.  Then I worked on my Top 10 posts. It looks like Aaron Rupar is back on Twitter

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I pre-ordered the moment I knew about it!

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

    • So many apps are connected I’m not willing to delete my account but I will look at the privacy settings because that is what I saw posted. It may change like so much is changing. My book twitter seems fine but the personal one where I have a variety of interests is really strange now. You’ve really been present here online even with the moving. I’m impressed.

    • Thank you Jonetta. That sweater is really long. We worried she would have trouble going potty but her tail seems to keep it out of the way. Yes I like my police procedurals and I’ve enjoyed Jane Harper. I just finished the first in the series The Dry and now I’m on to Force of Nature so I’ll be all ready for Exiles.

  1. I haven’t been keeping up with twitter although it’s a popular improv topic along with Kanye. Glad you got some Thai food, Yum!I hope you have a great week and enjoy Exiles.

  2. I don’t know what to do about Twitter. I think I’ll delete my personal account and keep the blog for now. What are you going to do? I bought the new Innkeepers from Ilona Andrews and a few more I forgot to post. I was in a rush to get my post up this morning before my computer died! I still have a little juice to make a few comments here and there. I have the invited for the Laura Griffin too. Love her stories!

Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Anne!

    • Thank you Rachel. I’m not sure what to do. I hate to delete the account as I have a huge following personally with a variety of my personal interests. The people I know better, met personally, I’ve connected with on facebook also. I’m going to wait and see but check my privacy settings. The book Twitter seems almost normal but the personal one is screwy now. I hope you can get your computer charged.

  3. I´ve heard that a journalists twitter account had been closed by Musk but didn´t know the name. It is so sad and I am angry about all the crap that´s happening there now. What on earth is Musk thinking? Is he thinking at all? Other than that it sounds like your week was as busy as ever *smile* Thank you for the cute Lulu picture.

    • Thanks so much Sophia! I have two days this week with med appointments for my daughter but the next week finally is empty. I look forward to staying home especially with the weather around 15F. That’s nothing in MN but cold here. I’ll need to get some groceries but first I must do a menu plan today or I won’t have the right ingredients. I wish you peace and joy for your holidays!

  4. Another busy week. That is wonderful you daughter got one of the classes she wanted. Great job staying on top of that. It’s a lot of work to keep checking. That’s wonderful you daughter volunteered for the Salvation Army. So many people are not wearing masks in group settings. I still do and I make sure my kid does when he goes to school. Outside not so much, but inside is a must. Love your book haul. Don’t Hex and Drive is fun. I really love the start of that story. It had me laughing. The whole series is magical. I also pre-order Magic Tides. Love Andrews. Have a great week.

  5. I love Lulu’s little coat! I wish my two would wear them, but they won’t. Of course most of the time the coats don’t fit right on their little long bodies. Sounds like a busy week! The class your daughter is taking sounds fascinating! Glad she could get one she wanted. I got a personal property tax bill that was addressed to someone that I think used to live in my house before I moved in over three years ago now. First year I’ve gotten it, so I wonder if they’re still trying to use the address and I don’t know what to do about it. I just sent it back as no longer living at this address. But maybe next time I should take it in. Hope you have a good week!

  6. Twitter I just don’t know over there lol. I try to take the long view but the changes there have been… bad. Aaron got suspended? Wow…

Nobody here wears masks anymore. I hate to get political but it’s so bizarre to me that something like Covid got politicized to the point where people don’t BELIEVE in it. Wow again.

Anyway thanks for sharing your week, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I’ve been wanting to try Jane Harper.

  7. Lulu looks nice and cozy! The more and more I hear about the new Twitter the happier I am that I got lazy and stopped using it. I really want to read Jane Harper and the Laura Griffin looks great! I’ve enjoyed several of her books. I hope you have a wonderful week!

  8. Twitter has always been a cesspool. With what happening on Twitter no one is really thinking due to strong biases.
That doggy is really cute. Look like you have a busy week.
Have a great week and merry Christmas.

  9. I hadn’t heard about Aaron Rupar. That is sad, but I am glad it did not last. In wonder for how long though until the next time? Twitter is . . . I don’t know what it is. It’s not the same as it used to be. I hadn’t heard about them selling our data, but I guess I’m not surprised. I don’t post there often nor am I always on it, but I do check it from time to time. I’ve started following more authors on Facebook and finding I’m enjoying Facebook more than I was.

I hope you enjoy your new books! The Ilona Andrews’ book, as always, sounds good. Have a good week, Anne. Happy Holidays!

    • Thank you Wendy! Aaron only tweeted a comment that the ElonJet account was suspended from Twitter but still on Facebook, not even actual data about where the jet was. I use my book twitter during the day on my laptop and personal twitter am and pm on my phone. I used to use both all day on Tweetdeck along with lists but stopped doing that at some point. Book twitter hasn’t changed so much as personal but it is only books, where my personal has all kinds of hobbies and interests. I don’t know yet what I will do because all the apps are connected to twitter.

I enjoy my books more this time of year because I am reading for fun more than reviews. Happy Holidays!

  10. Glad you were able to get one of those preferred classes. Smart to check right after the payment due date. I am very rarely ever on Twitter but even so I read the news and hear about what’s going on. What a unqualified mess. We ordered our new Covid tests, too. I hope the identity fraud was an isolated incident!

  11. I’m woefully behind on my blog reading this week again, but it looks like last week was busy for you! Sorry to hear about the stolen identity thing. I hate when that happens because it just means you get roped into doing work you don’t want to do.
