I decided to join in this year, but turned it into a top 14 as I couldn’t limit it to just 10. I always enjoy seeing what people’s favorites are. Just like Anne a Kelley Armstrong book made it on my list as well, although a different book/series I am still behind on that series and haven’t read The Deepest of Secrets yet. I recognize some of the other authors on your list, but haven’t read their books.
@ Sophia I was excited to see a Veronica Scott’s book on your list. I haven’t read Star Cruise: Outbreak yet though. I remember you mentioning Carolyn Brown’s books multiple times in our chats, I have to check out one of her books someday. Smart to add a box set to your list ;).
I’m excited to have you join us. I couldn’t really keep to 10 as I said that’s why I have 10 more on the audio books list. I had many. many 4.5 heart books which also could be recognized. Sophia is smart like that.
I’m so glad you could join this year. Love seeing everyone’s favorite books of the year.
LOL, oh yes, there would be a few Veronica Scott’s on my list if I did more from one author. Haha! I was sneaky.
Nettle and Bone will be on my list too. I love that all three of you have different lists😁
Thanks Tammy. I love the different lists too. I chose not to have my blog be in one genre and chose a group with a variety of interests as I have a variety of interests.
I was surprised so many of ours were so different.
So many good books, I have not read most of these so now I have to try some of these.
They are great books but a big mix of genre and not as many romances. Most romances, even excellent ones, don’t always have the complex plots I love. But certainly there are some and I love them. Most of my reads have some romance in them though.
big fan of books with a little bit of romance in them for sure.
Glad to show a variety for you, Wendy!
What a great list. Love Andrews & Briggs.
Oh yeah, those two make my list every year. 🙂
yes they are always on my list. Kelley Armstrong and Faith Hunter and William Kent Krueger are winners every time for me when I read them.
Some nice books there and some I still need to read!
You said it, Melliane. So many nice books this year.
I’m making lists from other people’s lists!
Wow some great sounding books here. I love the sound of the Kelley Armsrong and have that series to finish still.
I love almost everything Kelley ARmstrong but this series really got me going with her books. I have the first in the spinoff series and I’m dying to read it.
This series was my intro to her writing and now I’m a fan. 🙂
Haven’t read most of these, although a few are on my TBR. Lots of good books it looks like!
Well we thought so. We like a bunch of different things.
Fun to see what makes everyone’s 2022 lists. 🙂
I see a few books that I loved that made your lists! Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs are always awesome and I absolutely loved Nettle & Bone.
All good choices!
Oh yeah! 🙂
T. Kingfisher rocks.
Having two separate lists of favorites is not cheating. Twenty is totally acceptable when you divide them into categories. LOL So many great books! I haven’t read any of them, sadly. Hopefully in the future. I can’t believe I missed that Under A Veiled Moon came out! I loved the first book in that series.
yes overall it’s an excuse to share our favorites in many ways. Thanks for the support Wendy.
Haha, yes, we read so much that we need a week’s worth of lists to not miss any favs.
I’m totally, utterly honored to be on your TOP 10 LIST!!!! Thank you heaps and wishing you a happy end to 2022 and beginning of 2023!
We are very happy to have you. I have more of your work on my TBR.
Thanks for dropping by, Karen! You wrote a gem. 🙂
I’ve only read Verity from these lists, but that one was a favorite for me as well.
I loved Verity but it was a 4.5 heart for me. I had many many 4.5 heart books which were also excellent. I had to narrow down the 5 hearts though.
Verity kept me guessing the entire time. Really a well written book that was outside my normal reading selections.
Haven’t read any of these but they look good!
Hopefully, you will get a chance to read ones that appeal to you and enjoy them.
You will be in for some real treats when you get the chance. Carole.
Anne, Soul Taken, Ruby Fever, Dark Horse, The Deepest of Secrets, and The Wrong Victim are also on the list I’m compiling. We have very similar tastes. Must try that Faith Hunter and that Lisa Gardner is one I want to listen to as well. So far it’s not in my library.
Sophia, I enjoyed Riverbend Reunion as well and would like to try several on your list.
Oh yes, those ones you also have on yours are fab, too. 🙂 Love snitching book ideas off other lists.
Thank you Rachel. I love reading your blog and chatting with you about these books we love. I’m always thrilled to add to your TBR. Those Lisa Gardner ones are excellent. I’ll do a Read-along of Faith Hunter in 2-3 years FYI
The only one I’ve read is Verity although I read it the previous year when it came out in December. It was a 5 star for me as well. I think most of my favorites were on audio this year.
I really thought Verity was excellent a 4.5 heart for me and I had too many 5 hearts to include a 4.5. Sigh.
Legacy Witches by Cass Kay was on the best books I read in 2022.
Great to know I’ll have to check it out.
I linked my favorites up here, too. Even though there’s more than 10. 🙂
Verity is one that I remember well, even though it’s been about 3 years since I read it. My sister and I still debate about that ending. 🙂
So Tanya, what did you decide? Was Verity an awful person trying to fake us all out or was she really a good person, working on her writing skills in a bad situation? I’m not sure I can decide but it was an exciting story with such unlikable characters.
I was left thinking that Verity really was a monster, and that she really did think and do all the horrible things she wrote about. It all fit for me. But maybe I stuck with that theory because the alternative was too disturbing!
(Yes I am slightly behind and responding to comments from two weeks ago.)
It was one of the few that someone suggested to me in the real world that I even attempted. So surprised when it turned out to be one of my favorites. That never happens.
I’ve not read most of these but do see some familiar and favorite authors (Brennan, Krueger, Hurwitz, Gardner, Leigh). Nice that your lists are so different, too!
All the different lists mean more choices for you.
I also loved Ruby Fever and Soul Taken.
Those are two of my favorites from favorite authors.
Mine too.
I really need to read Stiefvater’s latest. I love her writing!
Thanks so much for linking up with us Nicole!
