The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday,  I wanted to get going fast to get finished mowing the lawn. It didn’t quite work out.  I finished the back and started on the front and both batteries were dead again.  I was a sweaty hot mess.  I was just going to shower when I remembered the trimmer uses a different battery system but I was too hot to go back to it.  I did lots of laundry.

Monday, I tried to get going faster. I did run out and finish mowing the lawn. It took only 15 minutes and I was so happy to have it finished. Then we went to the neurology for my daughter’s DHE infusions.  The nurse was wonderfully kind.  It was cloudy and rain sprinkling so it was comfortable to read in the car with the windows cracked.  My daughter went to nap, and I worked on my usual stuff.  I made a batch of food for Lulu.

Tuesday, I was up early and the neighbors brought Marley over at 8am.  I walked Marley and Lulu because we had to leave at 8:45am for her next DHE infusion.  Today I went to Wegmans to get groceries while she was there.  Then we picked up Papa Murphy’s Pizza on the way home.  The DHE is working for her this time.  She napped after lunch and I did some office stuff and watched the dogs. Of course, they want to be in each other’s beds!

Wednesday,  the weather was pleasant when I got up, fed and walked the dogs.  We went off to the last day of the IV infusions. I was able to sit in the car with the windows open for at least 2 hours before I had to turn on the AC.  My daughter is feeling much better and it was almost gone after her session.  We came home, had some lunch and she went to nap.  The treatments are working and she is doing much better.  Lulu and Marley have really become friends now and are rolling around playing most of the time.  We haven’t really had an issue with them going after each other’s food either.

Thursday,  it’s a hot one.  So we walked right away before breakfast.  We walked a longer medium route as it was still cool enough.  I’m happy not to have to go anywhere today.  My daughter does not have a migraine today!  I got 3 reviews written.  I heard from my Read-along winners and sent their information off to Dannika for their prizes.

Friday,  another hot one although today and over the next week, rain is back for part of the day.  We walked early.  Marley and Lulu played. I did some computer work.  My daughter had an appt with her gastroenterologist. Things are going pretty well and no migraine today. As soon as we got home, the neighbor came to pick up Marley.  I was kind of sad to see her go, but I think Lulu is looking forward to napping.

Saturday, Lulu and I walked early before breakfast.  There’s a nice breeze even though the dewpoint is high.  I have been reading on my theme – lawyers, but thought I would take a break and read an ARC – which it turns out the main character is a lawyer! lol     Next week has 6 medical appts which is mostly those moved forward from the past week.  One of them is mine though, a quick check.  I broke down and signed up for a month of Peacock, and watched the Women’s Vault finals live. I updated my links for COYER and Library Love for July reads.   It looks like this next week has a high chance for rain every day.

I’ve got more Factor meals to give away for free. If anyone wants some,  all I need is your email to send to them. I have some also where I can just give you a code. I don’t know if they work differently, but they are both free. You just need to cancel after the free meals.

July Reading:  I managed to read 25 books. Audiobooks continue to help me read more. Some count for more than one challenge.  I listened to 19 audiobooks, read 11 library books,  24 COYER reads, and 1  books which I already own.

All Library books (including ones not reviewed on the blog)  2024 Library Love Challenge

I did manage to read only one book I own (goal is 3 per month):

  • Sanctuary by Ilona Andrews

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by  Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My thanks to MacMillan Audio, Brilliance Audio, Kensington Books, Berkley Romance.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I got these in the Audible 2-1 credit sale.

I got the Kindle version for 99¢ and whispersync audio version for $1.99.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. Marley and Lulu look cute hanging out together and glad they share so well. What a relief and joy for your daughter’s infusions to break the migraine. Nice that you got some weather breaks to get some outdoor work and walks in and wait in the car for the appointments. Numbers are good for the reading month.

    Have a good week, Anne!

  2. SO GLAD the treatments worked for her this time. What a relief! We just got back from Michigan on Friday evening and I’ve been playing catch up all weekend, while also watching the Olympics!

  3. I’m so glad your daughter is getting some relief, finally!

I’m sorry the batteries on the mower died, again, but I’m glad you mentioned it cuz it reminded me to unplug my vacuum cleaner! That thing has been on the charger for days!

  4. I am so glad your daughter’s treatment went well and was pretty successful. The pups look so cute together. We’ve watched more Olympics this year that ever and are really enjoyable it. It’s still super hot here most days so the boys only get real walks when Mr. Barb is off and we can walk them nice and early. By the time he gets home at 3:15, it’s much too hot for them so the play in the yard in the evenings after the sun has passed that area. I was able to grab a few of those books as well. I used to read a lot of Yasmine Galenorn books and really liked her so I need to go back and pick some more up. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

    • Thank you Nicole. yes since May it is easier to count the days she didn’t have a migraine. Some days, it starts and she is able to take an abortive and then she’s ok. But the migraine abortives can only be taken so many days in a week so then it gets to where she needs rescue shots or infusions. It used to be years before she needed them but it’s much more frequent this year, weeks instead of years, for some reason.

  5. I am glad to hear the infusions seem to be helping–and yay for no migraine! I hope she has many more good days. It looks like Marley had a good time with Lulu. It’s always nice though when company leaves, even if a little sad, whether human or dogs. 🙂 Today was a recovery day after our day at Disneyland yesterday. We’re headed back tomorrow to visit California Adventure–but decided a break in between would be a good idea. I’m so glad we did it this way! We’re out of practice being on our feet all day. As it is, my husband’s ankle has been giving him trouble off and on for a couple weeks now and it started acting up early in the day yesterday. I’m trying to convince him to make a doctor’s appointment (for that and other issues he’s been struggling with for awhile now), but he’s so stubborn. I have this week and part of next week off for work. I don’t know how much blogging I will get done, but I hope I can fit some in. I’m behind on everything. I hope you have a wonderful week, Anne!

  6. I finally cashed in the Factor offer you were kind enough to send and we get our first box next week. I can’t wait and the timing can’t be better for having something easy wihtout much prep. Gotta love summer for laundry. If I step foot outside it feels like I need a full change of clothes. I’m so glad your daughter had some migraine free days and hopefully is still feeling well. I hope you’re having a great week!

  7. I’m delighted that the infusions are working and that your daughter is free of the migraines – let’s hope it continues! Your weather sounds impossible. It’s a lot cooler here and I realise just how much energy the heat sapped. Love the pic of Lulu and Murphy – I’m pleased they’re getting along so well. I hope this week is going well for you, Anne:).x

  8. I am so glad your daughter’s migraine treatments are working! That must be a huge relief for both of you. I’m glad, too, that Lulu and Marlow are getting along so well.

And just look at that book haul! Lots of fun-looking freebies and ARCs, and some enticing audiobook purchases, too.

I hope you have had a good week, and I’m sorry it took me so long to drop by!
