Minka isn't sure she should trust the sexy Special Forces soldier who found her. Subjected to horrors, on the run from scientists set on locking her in a cage, Minka is terrified of the monster she's becoming...and somehow, Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast inside her and make her feel safe.
But can she trust the way he makes her feel when she's not even sure she can trust herself?
I’m enjoying the X-Ops series as they release on audio, as I’ve always wanted to read them. I haven’t been reading too much PNR lately but this feels like romantic suspense with shifters. There is a new couple in each book. So you could read them out of order, but I wouldn’t. I’m enjoying how the world and characters continue to develop.
An overview on the shifters in this world is they do not change completely. Their eyes change color and they may grow claws. They always have more strength, better hearing, healing and sense of smell than humans. They are born into human families and have just slight genetic differences.
Her Fierce Warrior was the same as other books in the series but different. Yeah, I’m a little confused myself. I love Angelo and this is his story with Minka. I am baffled how he could survive in some of the situations he has battled in with hybrids and in this book. Angelo is a great guy and he is so compassionate about Minka. He steps in to save her and protect her, in spite of the personal difficulties it will cause him.
Minka was abducted, tortured and changed. I’m surprised she could trust anyone. She really does well considering the difficulties she has survived. If anyone had any doubts, Dick is a total dick.
I have to say I was MUCH more interested in the overall story arc and some other couples who had small bits tucked into this story than this romance. I can’t wait to see how things go with Ivy’s sister and her special forces guy. The big shocker was at the end where we learn some new things about John! I’m definitely continuing with this series.
Holly Adams is the voice of the series for me now. She does well with both male and female voices. Each book seems to have the point of view of each member of the couple. The narration really works well for me. I listened at my normal 1.5x speed.

Glad you’re enjoying this series!
Thank you! I feel lucky they are coming out on audio closely together so I can work through the series pretty quickly.
I’ve read a couple of her shifter books, but none from this series. This might be a spin-off? I’ll keep this one in mind! Love shifter stories. 🙂
It’s not a spin-off that I know but it’s also the first series of her I have read. I also want to try the SWAT series.
Never read these! Glad to hear you’re loving them! 🙂
It’s the first series of hers I have read but I’m a fan. I’m going to get to some of her other series now also.
I’ve read a couple in this series but prefer her SWAT series. Werewolves! LOL
I’m going to read the SWAT series too. This one was just coming available on audio so how could I resist?
It makes me so happy to see you enjoying this series, it kicks booty lol Just love how engaging her books are, I CANT put them down
Thank you! I’m really enjoying them. They feel a bit more like romantic suspense than PNR and that works better for me. Well they are romantic suspense AND PNR .
I might have to check out these audiobooks. This is a series that I have wanted to read for a very long time. Glad you are enjoying the series.
They’ve been on my list for a long time too so I jumped in when they released the audios this year. I’ve really enjoyed them.
