She’s given up on love, but love hasn’t given up on her…
If there’s anything Holly Hansen has learned, it’s that falling for a persuasive charmer is a sure path to a broken heart. It happened when her fiancé abandoned her just when she needed him most. Everything about the smoking-hot alien, Braxx, reminds her of her ex: his good looks, his confidence, his persistence. He won’t take no for an answer and shows up night after night at the restaurant where she works. It’s enough to wear a girl down, make her doubt her convictions, maybe hope that love can conquer the heartbreak of the past…
Dakonian Braxx is a simple man with simple needs: find a good woman and have a big family. With females in short supply on his planet, he heads for Earth through the Intergalactic Dating Agency. The instant he meets Holly Hansen, his horns begin to throb, and he realizes she’s the ONE. His Fated mate. He can’t wait to settle down with her and make beautiful babies together. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to recognize they’re meant to be together. But he didn’t come this far to give up easily, and he hopes that with patience and baby steps, he’ll win her heart.
Just when it seems he’ll succeed, Holly’s past comes back to haunt them. Can a heartbreak be too deep for love to fix?
Another fun addition to the Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides series, which revolves around a race of aliens whose planet was hit by a meteor and threw it into an ice age and also caused the females of the planet to become less fertile and have less women. So, in exchange for their energy rich oil, the Dakonians are coming to Earth to try to find a human mate.
We meet both of these characters in the previous book, Kord, though you don’t have to have read it before reading this story. Braxx is Kord’s brother. And Holly is the assistant manager at Barbie Qs, the restaurant owned by Kord’s mate, Barb.
I really loved these characters. I especially had a good time with Anthony. He is a child in the kindergarten class where Braxx has been a teacher’s aide. While he doesn’t need the money, it is helping him to read and write (they have an implant for verbal translation, but still have to learn to read and write the old-fashioned way) and he also likes the kids. Braxx even joins an organization similar to Big Brothers/Big Sisters and works with Anthony, as he is a foster child.
While these two have a rocky start and some relationship issues to work through, I also liked how this book brings attention to some of the issues of the foster system. And, being a romance, I don’t think it is a spoiler to note that there is a happy ending for Anthony too.
This has been a fun series. It is part of a larger Intergalactic Dating Agency series, which I’ve only read the Dakonians so far. I actually started with the Alien Mate series, where women are going to Dakon. I’ve really enjoyed both series. The stories are fast-paced and light, fun reads. I enjoy the characters and the world that has been built around them. I hope you get a chance to give this series a try.

Nothing like a fun series that doesn’t fail you. Glad you enjoyed, Melanie?
Very true. I’ve had a great time with these series.
I really need to try one of her books
I don’t know about your country, but in the US, she often has a few ebooks that are free.

Yeah, I’ve really enjoyed these books. They are a great light read.
This one was so heartwarming with Anthony’s role. I can’t wait to see what her new aliens will be like in the fall series.
Agreed, Anthony’s role was great.
You and Sophia enjoy these so much. One of these days I will read this author.
I’ve really enjoyed her work.
Thank you so much for the nice review. Glad you enjoyed the series. Hope you enjoy the new Alien Castaways series coming on September 16!
I can’t wait to try it.
This sounds fabulous, I don’t think I have read this author …yet but she is on my GR TBR wishlist. So hopefully I will pick her up soon. Love seeing books which shine light on the foster system.
I’ve seen free books on Amazon several times, so check to see if any are still free. They can be read out of order. it will give you a chance to try her without any risk.
