The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week, and showcase books and things we have received.

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

Sunday, I read today’s portion of the Read-along buddy read when I woke up.  I’ve been successfully posting items on Buy Nothing group and giving them away.  Today one of my friends in the neighborhood (who just sold her house WAAAH) came to get all the boxes and packing paper I have cleared up after moving back into my kitchen after the redo.    I’ll miss her. She’s moving to the beach and has invited us to visit. Her house sold in a day, $65,000 over list price!  The houses here are selling well.  I’d be worried about being able to buy anything affordable.  Besides, I’ve just got this one nearly set up the way I want it. I also unpacked 2 dining room boxes right before she arrived.  They had china in them and hadn’t been opened since I moved from Minnesota to North Carolina in 2015.  Nothing was broken! The Japanese tea set was my great-grandma’s on my dad’s side.  Lulu and I enjoyed our walk and swung by where the swan was nesting again.   After dinner,  I downloaded all the photos from the last few months from my phone to my computer and then deleted a bunch from my phone.  It was getting stuffy upstairs so now we are in that time of year when the upstairs is on AC and the main floor is on heat.

Monday,  I did some planning for the week.  The weather was nice, so of course Lulu and I walked.  Everything is blooming!  I updated my garden notes spreadsheet. Below are the SDB iris, Epimedium “Pink champagne”, Pulmonaria “Trevi Fountains” and Encore Azalea.

Tuesday,  I got basics finished and went to get things at the garden center. I went to the wrong one first, then the one I wanted and last one I have ended up at every year.  But I got basil, broccoli, lettuce, spinach, snow peas seeds, and cow manure.  I managed to get the cow manure spread in one part of the yard and planted the buttercrunch lettuce.  Then Lulu and I went on a longer route walk, checking in on the swans.

Wednesday, I tried to get going early and at least managed to get the rest of my reads in the COYER linky by noon, only because I worked on it last weekend already.  I try to update twice a month on challenge linkys.  Then Lulu and I went for our walk quick before the afternoon rain started.  I worked on orders for a Walmart and Home Depot pickup tomorrow, along with menu planning.  I found a bunch of Chirp deals.  My garden diagrams binder was getting full, so I took out all the MN stuff into a second one, and now one with just the NC notes.  After dinner, I wrote some reviews.

Thursday was lots of errands.  The contractor said they would finish the last thing at 4pm.  I went in the morning to Walmart and on the way back I stopped to get my daughter RX.  Then in the afternoon, she had a doc appt.  We got home at 3:30.  I got everything ready and they texted at 4:30 that they were caught in some flooding so if they didn’t make it by 5:30 they would come tomorrow.  So I waited around, they didn’t come.  I took Lulu for her walk and then fixed dinner.

Friday, the contractor said he’d be here at 9-9:30.  He showed up but said he forgot a tool and it would take about 30 minutes to go get it.  He came back at 11.  They thought it would take about 2 hours.  He didn’t leave until 4pm.  I sat and watched him the whole time.  At least he wore a mask.  It looks pretty good.  I really wanted to put the dirt and compost into the garden because it was a nice day. Of course, afterward I had to clean in the kitchen  and there was some debris in the yard too.   I was so stressed out that then I took Lulu on the longest walk route.  I tried out my new tennis shoes because my old ones I have worn a hole in the bottom!

Saturday,  I didn’t get up too early.  I worked on a few things, then I went out and mixed compost into all the food garden beds. I did a little weeding.  Then Lulu and I went on our favorite long route going by the swans. My daughter didn’t go to bed until 2pm so she won’t get up until late.  She has had midterms this week and it’s going well.  Poor Lulu though, was up all night and then up all day.

Of course I am going to participate in COYER Spring.  Each of the 4 Seasons are 3 months long.   I will track COYER reads on my blog but there are some reads I don’t review on the blog, so all COYER reads will be on my COYER Goodreads shelf.   I track all the years on one shelf but you can tell the current ones with a date sort or by also selecting the year.   There are different rules for different seasons, so not all my reads will count for COYER.  Still I am going to try for 200 books read for COYER in 2022.  If you want to participate in COYER,  one of the seasons or the Community,  check it out here.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week (If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry):

My grateful thanks to Harlequin/ MIRA,  Ace,  and Tantor Audio.

(If you click on the cover, it will take you to the Goodreads entry)

I had some promo credits to spend so I got the next one in this Devon Monk series.

There were some deals at Chirp 99¢ for the Annika Martin title,  $4.99 for the Colin Dexter, and $1.99 each for the Sawyer Bennett titles.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

  1. That’s awesome she sold the house so fast and that much over list price! Your tea set is beautiful! Enjoy COYER and happy reading this week.

  2. We bought soil and fertilizer for the yard but then the snow started so we are set back by a week or more in gardening. Happy spring reading!

  3. We got a lot of rain and some snow this week, but I was glad to get outside and fill three barrels with the dead brush and leaves from the winter and got my this year’s seed and gardening order in (all free since I found them in product reviews, woohoo). I do need to run and get a big mulch and soil order this year since I’m starting a new raised bed project, but I have time since the ground is still frozen.
Glad you got your kitchen finished and got rid of stuff through the free neighborhood trades. Too bad about losing a good neighbor. Ours across the street are suddenly moving and I hope we get as good a neighbor.
Nice haul of books. I do enjoy so many of the authors you got.

    Have a good week, Anne!

    • Thanks Sophia. I feel I’ve been lucky to get good neighbors when new ones have come. I have new ones on both sides and across the street. I don’t know them quite as well yet but I think it will be ok. I’m so glad to be finished with those contractors. I’m exciting for this week to get some planting going, now with the beds prepped. I’m very happy with my book haul, always. lol

  4. Thursday and Friday sound like they were hectic and exhausting! That picture of Lulu says it all. lol Little cutie-pie. But sounds like the rest of the week was good with walks and gardening and stuff. I hope you have a good week this week!

    • Thank you! Jinjer, it was stressful because the contractors don’t manage expectations well. They don’t stick to schedules etc. When I installed company wide computer systems I would have been fired and probably sued if I was so disrespectful and sloppy about times and leaving a mess after install. But it’s done. I’m happy and my perennials are blooming and better than expected mostly. A few things will have to be changed because I chose the wrong light or moisture for a plant but mostly I love seeing them.

  5. What beautiful china and so good that nothing had gotten damaged whilst being stored! Your plants are absolutely beautiful and Lulu is as cute as ever. Have the contractors finally finished or are there still some things to finish up? I don’t think my patience would have lasted as long as yours has!

  6. Sweet Lulu💜💜💜

Wow, you really did a great job in taking advantage of discounts! Well done, Anne💜

I’ve collected some Sawyer Bennett books but have yet to read one. Are you a big fan? Who would you compare her to?

    • Thanks Jonetta. I try to be very careful especially if I can get it at the library. But as you likely know, some things aren’t at the library on audio, or don’t stay there long-term. I do really like Sawyer Bennett. I have only read one of her books apparently but I gave it 5 hearts. Atticus. I have collected many more to read. She writes a bunch of hockey books and now the Security force books. I would say she reminds me of Elle Kennedy? I sometimes confuse her in my head with Sarina Bowen who I have read a few books, and they have some similarities.

  7. I love the tangerine floral china set! It’s nice to have things from past generations and be able to pass them down. We accepted an offer of $75,000 over our asking price for our house and it was listed for way more than we thought we’d get to start with. I hope everything goes through with no issues. They did the home inspection yesterday and it went well, so that’s a good sign. Seeing wildlife on walks/hikes adds a lot for me and it sounds like you’re getting a lot of walks in if you got a hole in your tennis shoes! Good for you!

Maybe I’ll get those Sawyer Bennett audios. That’s a good deal and I like her writing. I got the Allison Brennan too. Love her mysteries!

  8. I just love your pictures of your flowers, I’m so ready for spring! We have had spring weather this week, but I know we’ll get at least one more snowstorm… Happy Reading.

  9. The housing market is crazy! We haven’t even been in our house for 2 years and it is already worth a lot more than it was when we bought it. I need to get outside and work in the year. Hopefully, I can get to it next weekend. Enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!

  10. Jen

Houses are selling like that up by us, but where would we go? We love our area, so plan to stay for a while. My week last week was pretty normal. My son had lacrosse tryouts, his final season… I’m starting to feel the emotions of my eldest getting ready to graduate high school. But I’m really looking forward to watching him play. They didn’t have a season his sophomore year (COVID), then he broke his leg not even midway through the season last year. Prayers he stays healthy and has an amazing final season.

  11. Lorna

You stay so busy. That’s just a memory for me since I retired in 2008(early). I manage to waste a lot of time though. One of your freebies, Heart Smart, was good. I just read it a few months ago and enjoyed it. It kinda reminded me of “The Love Hypothesis”. Enjoy the rest of your week!

  12. The housing market is wild like that here too. One of my neighbors just sold their house and got $30,000 more than what they were asking for it. Your china is lovely. So glad none of it was broken while in storage. Your garden is looking good too. I’m hoping for some warm weather soon so I can get outside and work on mine.
