Angel Crawford has finally pulled herself together (literally!) after her disastrous dismemberment on Mardi Gras. She’s putting the pieces of her life back in order and is ready to tackle whatever the future holds.

Too bad the future is a nasty bitch. There’s a new kind of zombie in town: mindless shamblers, infectious and ravenous.

With the threat of a full-blown shambler pandemic looming, and a loved one stricken, Angel and the “real” zombies scramble to find a cure. Yet when Angel uncovers the true reason the plague is spreading so quickly, she adds “no-holds-barred revenge” to her to-do list.

Angel is busting her ass dealing with shambling hordes, zombie gators, government jerks, and way too many mosquitos, but this white trash chick ain’t giving up.

Good thing, since the fate of the world is resting on her undead shoulders.

Reading a final book in a series can be an emotional experience. If you have held on until the end, you also cannot help but have questions and expectations and possibly a little trepidation.

Rowland has done an exceptional job leading readers through Angel Crawford’s world. We started with a small insular snapshot of her recovery from addiction and finding her footing in the zombie world, to her expanding her horizons through travel, love, and ass kicking!

So when I entered White Trash Zombie Unchained my thoughts were how will it end? Are there any last minute heartbreaking twists ? What will become of Angel’s friends and families as she looks at possibly being safe and having many years of life before her.

I was happy to discover all my questions were answered after one more wild ride with action, zombie alligators and a hopeful future.

What I loved the most was seeing Angel find herself in the middle of situations she unknowingly caused but choosing to have compassion and grace for herself. As this book continued, it was wonderful to see all the threads from last books become woven into a very satisfying and complete story.

I have done the audio versions of every book in this series and I have really enjoyed Allison McLemore’s narration. She has a great way of capturing Angel’s sass as well as her vulnerability.

I left this series feeling satisfied and knowing whatever challenges Angel faces in the future she has herself and a strong community to help her move forward.

(Thank you  so much for sharing!)  If you can answer any of these questions, you can do so in a comment.

  • I kind of wonder how Pietro didn’t know about the African zombie stuff, because he’s so old surely he knows other older zombies around the world? Or is this more about how the world was smaller before the internet?

About Kai at Fiction State of Mind

Hello Everyone My name is Kai. I’m a Massage Therapist who started blogging over 3 years ago when I discovered the blogging world on Twitter.

I’m an East Coast transplant that has been living in California for some time. I read all genres of books but have to force myself to read Non- Fiction!

My passions in life are Books (of course), Yoga, Comics, and Movies.

My blogging goals originally were to connect with other book lovers . That still is a priority but I’ve also developed a zeal for showcasing different genres of books to readers and helping them to try something new.
