Working alone as a private investigator is tough. Estranged from her PI family, Margo Angelhart does what she must to get by—including taking on sordid cases that pay the bills, even if she’d rather be helping those the justice system has failed.
That is, until a cheating husband case she’s working intersects with her siblings’ corporate espionage investigation, forcing Margo to cooperate with the Angelhart firm. Now, as the siblings compare notes, it’s clear they need to work together before a white-collar crime escalates to murder.
I always enjoy Allison Brennan and was excited to start this new Angelhart Investigation series. I wasn’t able to read the prequel before this first book, but the author’s newsletter assured me that would be fine. I will read it if it ever comes up in my library hold.
You’ll Never Find Me has the Angelhart family at odds. Our point of view is Margo who is a private investigator. All of the Angelharts are involved with the law and law enforcement but Margo likes to do things her own way. The rest of the family is in the family PI business with her lawyer mother, and retired cop brother.
Margo’s investigations overlap with one of her family’s investigations. She is watching a business man to see if he is cheating. The family is hired by a company he used to own to find out about someone embezzling. One of the other PI firms in town is also following a woman in the company’s IT department. They are all about different things but so many fingers in the pie.
Margo also helped an abused woman leave her husband. The husband is a cop and he, of course is furious. He does some things on the edge and Margo has to be careful about her family because of him.
The investigations are exciting, a bit dangerous and complex. There is great world and character building. I look forward to seeing what Margo and her family get into next!
Narration:
The narrator is one of my favorites. It takes me a minute to settle because I have heard her perform so many different characters. I was comfortable with her voice for Margo and the others. I listened at my usual 1.5x speed.

I haven’t read this author before, but I love the sound of this. Plus it’s the start to a series😁
Allison Brennan is a favorite in this genre. She has several long running series or connected trilogies. I would recommend this as the start or the Quinn & Costa series which is relatively new but does have 5 books already but I love it a lot!
Happy to know Brennan has a new one coming out. I do enjoy her books. 😀
yes and this is a new series. She has some great standalones, as well as her long running series preceded by connected trilogies.
I can’t wait to get to this one, especially with Hillary Huber narrating.
I really enjoy Huber too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This sounds like it has some depth. Great review Anne. I think I’d enjoy this.
Thank you Kimberly. I’m a big fan of this author and narrator.
This looks like a good one and this is an author I’ve really been wanting to read. I just added it to my TBR!
Thanks for the Factor box! I haven’t set it up yet but am so looking forward to trying it!
It’s a decent place to start because it’s a new series. I love all her stuff but I read grittier rather than cozy most of the time.
