The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly  @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.

Stacking The Shelves is also a weekly meme hosted by  Tynga’s Reviews and Marlene from Reading Reality.  It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Don’t forget to look at my giveaways on the right sidebar.

I was worried about this week with my daughter joining a new group therapy and having her midterm.  Both of those seemed to go well.  With our busy schedule, we didn’t get to the YMCA and I could feel the stiffness. On Thursday, we got massages and I was able to present my completed dog sweater for Ginger. I’ll adjust a bit for the next one but she liked it.

Friday, my daughter had too much nausea with her migraine to go to class.  It was too bad but it gave me a full free day.  So I got all my reviews written and review shells set up. I also tackled my email accounts.  I got my main book one down to 12 emails by blog hopping and commenting, and reading various publisher emails. The blog email I mostly keep up daily.

So I could just relax today (Saturday). I hoped to get to some sewing, maybe Sunday,  but I managed to sleep in for once.  It’s raining and looks like it will rain all week. We finished off the chicken veggie soup tonight(Sat) so I am going to make chili tomorrow night (Sun).

Things I Learned This Week:

OK  if I’m asking for help, I’m also going to share the cool things I learn. You may already know them but hopefully it will help someone.

Revive Old Posts plugin

So I’ve been using this but have discovered it is not really posting very often. I guess this is because Twitter made some changes to their platform.   I was getting this error (which is not an accurate error of what is happening):

Error posting on twitter. Error: {“errors”:[{“code”:185,”message”:”User is over daily status update limit.”}]}

I googled the error and found this handy guide on how to set up a developer account to get API keys so it will start posting again. I had to follow the steps but it wasn’t too complicated.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.  These are the exciting ARCs I received this week:

Polaris Rising                                                                               Unforgettable You

Just a Kiss                                                                      Wolfhunter River

Thank you so much Harper / Harlequin Audio, Tantor Audio, and Thomas & Mercer.

Lucky Suit                                                                        Folsom Untold

I got my Audible originals for February which are part of the membership.

Now the really scary one. This is all the Kindle and Audible freebies I grabbed this past week. You can see why I need to do Thrifty Thursday to be sure I read a few at least one each month.

I really meant to cut back on freebies BUT  they are free so I guess that won’t be happening.

I’m not including things like reviews posted or upcoming as they are always in the right sidebar. And, my challenge status is also there.

If you like this and want to see me do the Sunday post, as often as I can manage, leave me a comment and let me know.

Anne

  1. Ah, the sweater looks great in the pics. Too bad your daughter had a tough day but glad she was able to get through mid-terms. Yay for getting caught up on reviews and emails. I struggle to stay on top of the emails at times. Just spent yesterday clearing off shelves of books I won’t be rereading and it felt good to drop off three boxes’ worth.
A sleep in day! Love those.
Nice haul of books. I’ve heard good things about Polaris Rising.

    Have a great week, Anne!

    • Thanks Sophia! Good for you on the clean up and donate. I have stuff in boxes for 2 months but haven’t taken it over since the boxes wouldn’t fit in the car with the wheelchair. So hopefully we can get those dropped off when we are out running around now. Sometimes I look at those emails and feel like it is too much. And then I just have to wait a day or so to handle them well. I’ve seen Polaris Rising all over so decided I had to try it. I wish you the best week!

    • Thank you Laura! Considering I stayed up to 4am reading I feel great. Let’s hope I am not death warmed over tomorrow morning. Her migraine is better now. So she’s back at school work today. I hope your week is better and drier than it will be here and you find some amazing reads.

    • Thanks Michelle. It’s for fun to knit and I’m not sure I want to turn it into work, you know? I made a bunch of Harley T-shirt quilts which I got signed by the SOA guys to raffle off for charity and everyone wanted me to make them quilts with their t-shirts. But just the materials on sale (not including the shirts costs about $150 and it takes about 3 weeks of my time – king or queen. Nobody would want to pay what it would take to do it. Of course, I’d get faster if I did more I suppose. I did 6 for the HOG charities, over about 4 years.

Anyway, I also saw Polaris Rising offered and couldn’t pass it up since so many seem to be reading it. It is scifi. I can’t believe it’s only 2 weeks left of COYER. Thanks so much for hosting! Have a wonderful week with great reads!

  2. Oh Anne I am really sorry for your daughter. I am following you here on Sunday for some months now and I can’t help but think that you are incredibly courageous! Now on a positive note I love the sweater! I never put any clothes on my dog as she has a thick fur and would be too warm but your dog looks real cute with it! I hope next week will be softer for you and your family.

    • Thank you! Her migraine is better today and she walked without the walker some.

I love the yarn in the sweater and it turned out great. I’ll just do a bit more fitting to make her another one.

Here’s to a better week for us all with the best books!

    • Migraines. But at least she is better. I love knitting. I had to recalculate for the gauge twice. Once because the pattern was for a dog with a 15″ neck and Ginger’s neck is 9″, then because I used worsted weight instead of bulky yarn.

I’m glad to hear Cake is good. I love Andi Arndt! Thanks for visiting.

  3. Sorry your daughter hasn’t been feeling well. Hope all is well. Your books look really good. Enjoy them and have a great week!

    • Migraines. She is having another one today and they have been pretty scarce. I’m glad your issue was just one day. The weather is nice enough I am knitting while listening to audiobooks and charging at the plugin while she is in school. I should be walking. But it was supposed to rain and I’m tired from staying up too late and reading Saturday night. I hope it’s a great week for you, rain here most days. But at least I’ve got good books.

    • Migraines are the devil. Ginger seemed to like it and snuggle into it. My massage therapist had specific ideas about what she wanted so that is what I made. I hope you have a great week and you have today off! We have already been over to the college. Now lunch, then the med appt.

  4. Migraines are the worst especially when they are bad enough to make you sick to your stomach. I am sorry that your daughter is having to deal with them. What a cute doggie sweater! Great new additions to your tbr pile. I hope you enjoy them all and have a great week!

    • Thanks Carole. I’m excited about my new reads and I’ll let you know about the Audible stuff. I may also point out the ones I already own in case you do not. But as you noticed, the list is huge. I got through it by sections but each section took at least a half hour. Do you travel again this week? I hope the weather is good if you do. Happy reading.

  5. Nice book haul. Great job on figuring out how to fix Revive Old Tweets. They did an update several months ago and when I did the update I can no longer use the plugin for my site. I keep getting an error message of something. I gave up and so I haven’t found anything else to use to revive my old posts. Have a great week!

    • Well you can try the help info I found. I had to work through it step by step but it wasn’t too hard and it seemed to automatically be approved even though it said in the help info I would have to wait to be approved. I find Google is my best friend when searching out some odd problems. The error message Revive Old Tweets was getting was garbage and unrelated to what was really happening but this particular help info post knew that. I try to provide whatever info I find in case someone else is having the same issue.

I hope you have a great week!

    • yes, it is a plugin which tweets previously published posts. You can choose text to start it – I chose ICYMI and you can choose how many times a day and so forth. Most people choose to do 2 – 3 times a day, or some problably choose once a day. It does it all from posts which already exist. I’ll go retweet one to you on twitter so you can see an example. I start it up, and until it had this snafu with a change in Twitter, I don’t have to do anything.

  6. I’m sorry to hear your daughter wasn’t feeling well. Migraines can be the worst! If I catch my headache right away with meds I can usually avert a migraine, but I know others are so fortunate. Soup sounds wonderful with all the cold weather we’ve been having. I’m freezing in my house right now. Guess I need to put on a sweater. 🙂

The things you learn about blogging are so over my head! I’m glad I don’t have WordPress, because I doubt I’d be able to decode these issues!

    • It’s raining all week so we are on a soup binge. I had tomato soup tonight with a grilled cheese sandwich. But we still have leftover chili for tomorrow.

I feel like I don’t know very much about the blogging but I am slowly learning a bit. Kimberly at Caffeinated is really knowledgeable. I’m trying to read up on WordPress and HTML code but I got busy and will have to get the books from the library again as they expired.

  7. I love the sweater. I started the Things I know a while ago on my Sunday Roundup. Fun tho. Sometimes it’s things we know and need to be reminded of. It was snowing today and gave me a snow day from school so I wanted to hop around to everyone and play catch up! Have a good week.
